The Eurostars St. Gregory in Washington D.C. receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its location and comfortable beds, while others report significant issues with cleanliness, hidden fees, and inconsistent service. Recent feedback highlights problems with room maintenance, water disruptions, and questionable value for money. Overall, there are concerns regarding the hotel’s ability to maintain its initial prestige and deliver a consistently positive guest experience.
Really nice place and very safe! My bed was so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of bed. The shower felt so relaxing that I wanted to not get out. This place is Top Notch! A perfect place to stay at in DC. Right by Dupont Circle.
I'm writing to share my absolute disappointment with this hotel. At first I didn't care about the amenity fee. But let me share my disappointment, No microwave (I had to eat my food cold) the snacks you put out only accommodate maybe 10 people and the guy that's outside with the camera ate one every time he passed by. Lighting in the room terrible especially the bathroom, had to use my own lighting to do makeup. Having to stream from my own phone to the TV is another huge inconvenience. Housekeeping came into my room well after 4pm yesterday and throwed my food out but didn't throw the actual trash out in the bathroom. They replenished the towels but didn't leave housecoats that they took. The AC unit was loud and woke me up every time it came on just all around disappointment for the price. The bed was extremely comfortable. I would just like my amenity fees returned which is almost 40 bucks a day and please don't have a car because that's over $70 a day to park. There is no pool and the fitness center is smaller then the one I have in my apartment building. Absolutely ridiculous
Seriously one of the best hotels I’ve seen in the United States. The staff were extremely accommodating and so kind. Especially Meti, Frank and Yuleyni during checkout. The hotel puts out these delicious cookies made in house around 3pm and always has apples available at the front desk. The room was so spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. We did not try the restaurant attached (Bully) however you do receive 15% discount for it as apart of the daily amenities fee. The gym was clean but it didn't have too many weight training machines, however, the essence of the hotel made up for it. Location is also in a great area and super close to a lot of great restaurants. Will definitely be back at the St Gregory Hotel next time I’m in Washington. Thank you for having us!
Felt like this hotel was centrally located and within walking distance to many restaurants. It was clean and for most part quiet besides sirens but that’s not the hotels fault. The rooms were spacious. Some things to note: We were unaware of a “mandatory amenities fee” that was quite pricey and charged upon arrival. When we questioned the fee, we were told it was for use of the gym and bottled water in the room and provided a 15% discount at the restaurant. All those amenities did not come close to what was charged daily. The air conditioning was motion activated. It was 74 in the room. We visited in June and it was hot. After being out all day, coming back to a hot room was annoying. At night when sleeping it would turn off and get warm in the room. One evening we lost hot water. We called and notified the desk and they told us that it had something to do with the water filter or something on the shower. However, we had family staying in another room in a different part of the hotel and on a completely separate floor and they also did not have hot water. We also made it a point to tell the front desk that there was an issue with the elevator and they said they would have the on-site engineer which he appeared just to be a maintenance man look at it. I’m not sure if he actually did look at it or not but the next day we were stuck in the elevator for about 15 minutes. We hit the alarm several times and were yelling and beating on the door and nobody would respond. Finally, the front desk attendant came and several people from the hotel to help get us out of the elevator.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but my stay here on June 14 was extremely disappointing. First, I booked through Priceline under the impression that I had already paid all required charges. However, when I arrived, I was asked to pay an additional fee that had never been disclosed during the booking process. Whether this was Priceline's fault or the hotel's failure to provide accurate information, it felt misleading and deceptive. Second, I barely slept because of the excessive noise throughout the night. A hotel's most basic responsibility is to provide guests with a clean, quiet place to rest, and unfortunately, that standard was not met. To make matters worse, the hair dryer in my room did not work at all. What disappointed me the most, however, was the lack of accommodation for a simple request. While waiting in the lobby, I politely asked whether there was a quiet corner where I could pray for five minutes. I was told there was no place available and that staff were not allowed to accommodate such requests. I was not asking for special treatment—just a small space for a brief moment of prayer. In a city as diverse and welcoming as our nation's capital, I expected a more understanding response. Between the undisclosed fees, sleepless night, broken amenities, and poor customer service, this stay fell far below expectations. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves the experience for future guests.
Very disappointing experience. We discovered dirty sheets and a stained comforter in our room late at night after returning exhausted, leaving us with no real option other than trying to sleep without using the bedding. It was uncomfortable, cold, and honestly unacceptable for a hotel stay. On top of that, the heater/AC unit was extremely loud throughout the night, making it difficult to sleep. We emailed the hotel manager directly with photos and explained the situation, but they took no responsibility and showed little to no concern about the issue. The response lacked accountability and customer care, which made the experience even worse. Cleanliness and basic customer service should be expected at any hotel. Unfortunately, this stay fell far below expectations.
Prestigious hotel with a strong team holding the operations. Marcel has perfect management skills needed to finalize an accurate reservation up to standard! Ezera & Alex always dynamic, positive and happy to assist. As for Ronaldo, his logistical skills ensure a smooth seamless experience when moving rooms or checking in and out!
Before the Eurostars acquisition, this was a lovey hotel. It has been cheapened out to the MAX. The toiletries used to be the gorgeous and natural range of L’Occitane which have been replaced by disgusting and cheap chemical ones. Breakfast vouchers used to be a perk of staying here too but that’s also been removed and replaced with a rubbish “15%” off the bill instead. I stay here for around 30 days per year but will be looking to stay somewhere else now. VERY DISAPPOINTING
The Eurostar acquisition of the St Gregory has delivered a blow to what was once a polished operation. The toiletries—those exemplars of refinement that left skin positively radiant—have been unceremoniously ditched for cut-rate impostors, leaving one’s complexion parched and prickly from dawn till dusk. Service generally borders on the perfunctory, and breakfast, once a generous offer, has been pared back too. I wouldn’t at all be surprised if the next cutback to involve charging extra for usage of the lift.
Exceptional Stay for a Special Occasion! We stayed at Eurostars St. Gregory in DC for my husband’s birthday, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and professional from start to finish. They were very understanding of how meticulous my husband is about his show car, which we drove there, and made sure everything was handled with care. Their politeness, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond truly made us feel valued. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was top-tier, and they helped make his birthday extra special. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great service and hospitality in DC! Shoutout to the night staff u girls rock!!
