16 days agoThis is one of our favorite resorts and we have been coming annually for the past 3 years! We love it for how family-friendly it is - with 2 kids ages 7 and 9, it is very welcoming and accommodating to children, with lots of activities to keep them occupied. We also love the level of service and care that goes into every little detail and guest happiness. With the opening of the new outdoor pool, this resort just hit a new level for our family, and we definitely intend to be back again next year. Thank you to the team!

25 days agoMy husband and I spent a wonderful week at Salamander Middleburg, and every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. Check-In & Check-Out A special thank you to Emma for making our check-in experience seamless and welcoming. She provided helpful information about the resort and ensured we had everything we needed to start our stay. Check-out was equally smooth, quick, and efficient. Room & Housekeeping Our room was impeccably clean and comfortable throughout our stay. The housekeeping team was attentive every day, keeping our towels stocked, the bed neatly made, and the room refreshed. It was always a pleasure returning to such a well-maintained space after a day of exploring and activities. Gold Cup Wine Bar Wow! Larbi and Misty made our evenings at the Gold Cup Wine Bar truly unforgettable. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and provided exceptional service throughout our visits. While everything we ordered was fantastic, the wings, ribeye, and tacos were especially delicious and highly recommended. Harrimans Harrimans is an outstanding restaurant that delivers both exceptional cuisine and top-tier service. Mohamed was incredibly attentive and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The chef also sent additional complimentary items to our table, which was a thoughtful and appreciated touch. Management stopped by to ensure everything was perfect, further demonstrating the restaurant’s commitment to guest satisfaction. From the immaculate atmosphere to the high-end dining experience, everything was superb. The Hoppin' John was absolutely delicious. Pool The newly upgraded pool is absolutely beautiful. It’s the perfect place to spend a relaxing day poolside, enjoying comfortable seating, refreshing drinks, and the resort’s stunning surroundings. Overall From the accommodations and dining experiences to the outstanding service provided by the staff, our stay at Salamander Middleburg was exceptional. We left feeling relaxed, well cared for, and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!

29 days agoThis was our second time visiting Salamander and everything was terrific. We loved lounging by the newly renovated pool and walking the grounds, enjoying the “horse country” views. Ponies Cupcake and Peppermint are adorable! Cupcake had a meet ‘n greet in the lobby on Friday evening and our dog Remi loved seeing her. Salamander is the rare pet-friendly hotel property that pampers your pooch as much as you. Everyone was so sweet to her — we will be back!

about 1 month agoThe 340 acre Salamander Resort and Spa in Middleburg, VA is an exceptional five star resort and spa in the wine region of Virginia. The resort is located 30 minutes from Dulles airport, and 45 minutes northeast of Shenandoah River and National Park. The Resort has a world class spa, adult pool, equestrian riding stables, and Michelin star restaurant. The resort is within driving distance of 10 wine vineyards, and plenty of colonial antique gift shops. The atmosphere is great to get away from the city life and relax in the country with 5 star service and amenities!! Amazing resort overall!!! Highly recommend!!

about 2 months agoExcellent restaurants in the resort, and more within a mile with a shuttle service. The facilities and service are absolutely first rate. The only draw back is deep pillow top beds - great for some people but not for me. As for trail rides, I had a 22 year old retired Amish plow horse which was ideal for a relaxing ride - just don’t expect more than walking speed. The stables are kept astoundingly clean with no smell, and the tack room is so perfect it looked like a store.
