Lansdowne Resort presents a mixed experience, with recent guests praising its staff and beauty, particularly during corporate events. However, recurring issues with dated rooms, maintenance concerns, and inconsistent service are hindering the overall guest satisfaction, despite glimpses of luxury and positive moments. While some guests find it a desirable staycation option, others express disappointment and suggest it may not be suitable for families.
This a great resort. Thank you so much for hosting Eid Prayers. We appreciate the management who coordinated this event. Large gathering of people preformed Eid prayers in the ball room. This is not only a resort but on of the best places to stay in Loudoun County. The rooms are clean and the view are spectacularly stunning. ?
Staff: excellent, attentive, the best part of the resort. Golf: RTJ course is challenging, but it's beautifully maintained and fun to play. Range was good too, tees aren't in the best shape. Spa: overpriced, jacuzzi is a steel box (that isn't in the best condition), evidence of mold on walls, underwhelming for the cost, unfortunately, massage was good but not really worth it. Don't like that they advertise steam room/sauna as amenity, but it's not really an amenity if you have to pay for it? Room: fine. Needs general maintenance: leaky faucet, fill valve in toilet intermittent, floor tiles uneven, recaulking, tub faucet either hot or off, window seals need to be resealed, AC needs servicing Food: C&R okay, good short ribs, over priced. Market is nice, sandwiches surprisingly good for being grab and go. Riverside breakfast over priced, but decent offerings. Piedmont's isn't all that, water served in plastic cups, service wasn't super fast, food was average, key lime pie was incredible. Good stay, resort is definitely showing its age and it doesn't seem like the maintenance schedule is keeping up with its aging needs. The current nightly rate doesn't track with the product given: I don't want to have to wiggle the fill valve in the toilet to make it work, paint should be kept up, bug treatment on patios should be regularly scheduled. Part of my reaction is due to the sales team overselling the property. I booked everything through the sales team: golf, spa, and restaurant reservations. Anyone I talked to made it seem like a luxury resort, Piedmont's was "fine-dining", spa was in amazing condition and a "not miss" feature. Neither of which I found to be true. The golf course was the only appropriately hyped item.
We stayed last night for my husband's work event here and we have absolutely NO complaints. This resort was so beautiful and the best part was the customer service! Literally everyone I interactes with were so pleasant and just so welcoming! I love to go place that employees actually care and like their jobs! I do want to give personal shout-out to Katty she was serving our table at the event and was incredible! She was so fun and took care of us so well, I really enjoyed meet her! Overall a great experience! Great job!
We stayed overnight in the Alcove 1 bedroom suite so that we could attend Mother's Day brunch. Based on this specific visit I would say I was underwhelmed and that the room was overpriced. The room needed to renovated, redone and refurbished. It was to the point where I couldn't really tell if a certain piece of furniture was simply old or just straight up not cleaned. There were cracks and stains in the wallpaper, and stains on the furniture and couch. And the bathroom, while large, was poorly lit and not much better than what you can get at a Best Western. If that's where I wanted to stay, I would have just gone there. Service-wise: The staff working the brunch were helpful and polite, and the food was good. But at check-in, the employee working at the concierge seemed to be checked out for the night. He asked for my ID, handed me the the key card, and I guess assumed that I lived there because he didn't even tell me how to get to the elevators. The same guy avoided eye-contact with me and pretended to take a 3-second phone call as we were approaching the desk to check out. Always wanted to check out Landsdowne, but I can't say I recommend it.
This was my second visit to the resort and I like it for myself for a staycation but not necessarily for a family vacation, just not enough for them to do unless they like golf or the pool (which is nice but not enough to entertain them long term). The resort is beautiful and has the most lovely spa like smell piping through the lobby. #bliss The robes and washclothes are luscious. High quality and feel great. The beds are amazing!! Next time I go I'll come for the sound bath or a spa treatment just so I get a more full experience.
Went for the spa. Reasonable pricing and friendly staff. Spa amenities were not well maintained. Lockers and floor were dirty. Hair station was not hygienic. Shower door was rusted and fell off the hinges. Other guests were loud and obnoxious in the hot tub. No light snacks were offered. Don’t recommend this spa - spend a little more and go somewhere nicer
I'm going to be all over the place with this review. Driving up to the resort is gorgeous and it has great curb appeal. Beautiful lobby. The hallways leading into the rooms are in very poor condition, with lots of damage on the walls and the bathrooms inside are rooms are extremely dated. Bathroom floors are distinguishing. As far as the food and amenities on the property. Extremely overpriced. We went into coton and dry, had some more food and quite a few drinks. I was expecting about a hundred dollar bar tab, not a hundred and ninety eight dollar bar tab. They have a steam shower on sight. But in order to use it, you must book time in the spa. It's not an amenity if you have to pay to use it. Breakfast was okay but once again overpriced. I won't be returning. Going back to the embassy suites, a couple miles away, which has nice rooms and a great breakfast at a much reasonable price. I am not cheap I will pay, but it has to be worth it.
It is not our first visit but I think this may be the last. My husband and I wanted a quick getaway for a few days and chose Lansdowne because our past visits here have always been nice. We booked the corner room thinking we will spoil ourselves. We were so wrong! The corner room was smack in the middle of the floor plan as we exited the elevators. Then as we stepped in, we realized that a normal room bathroom would have been bigger. the corner room's bathroom was so small when you step in to use the toilet you have to actually edge to the corner of the bathtub in order to close the door. And to think we paid extra for this? There were no 2 seater couch in the corner room, just the regular one seater. Yes the room was larger but that was it. The rooms are dated. The restaurant was great. Coton and Rye. The servers there were busy but they truly did their best and tried to make sure every guests were attended to. As we checked out, the baggage concierge stood there refusing to help and we could have used some help. He was engrossed with his phone. The front desk person was also borderline rude. As i reviewed the bill i made a comment that some other guest may have left their bill on the counter and he looked up and very curtly telling me "It's not a bill, maam." then as i reviewed the bill, i asked if the breakfast credits were applied to my bill, he again, not rude but definitely not friendly either, stated, "I don't know. It may have." I did not pay almost $2K for a 3 night stay for this kind of attitude. So for the resort to claim they are luxury is not true. Too bad. We enjoyed our previous stays.
This was my second time attending a multi day work conference at Lansdowne Resort, and it further confirmed why it is such a strong venue for corporate events. Even visiting during the winter months, the experience felt intentional and well executed from start to finish. The property genuinely seems designed with conferences in mind. The layout supports productivity, with spacious ballrooms, well organized breakout rooms, and smooth transitions between sessions. Over multiple days, that efficiency matters, and everything felt structured yet comfortable. Despite the colder season, the atmosphere remained inviting. The interior spaces are warm and polished, creating an environment that supports both focus during sessions and relaxed networking afterward. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating throughout the entire event. Their professionalism and responsiveness were consistent across all days, which makes a noticeable difference during a longer stay. If you are planning a corporate retreat, leadership summit, or multi day conference, this venue is clearly purpose built for that function. Even in winter, it delivers a seamless and well managed experience.
I had the BEST time here celebrating my 30th birthday with friends. The staff at the Spa Minerale were very accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Piedmont’s restaurant was delicious and the service was great. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway as it’s not a far drive from the DC area.
