Lansdowne Resort receives mixed reviews, highlighting both positive experiences, particularly during corporate events and celebrations, alongside significant concerns about room quality, cleanliness, and service issues. Recent feedback indicates inconsistent experiences, with negative comments regarding dated rooms, malfunctioning amenities, and unhelpful staff.
Went for the spa. Reasonable pricing and friendly staff. Spa amenities were not well maintained. Lockers and floor were dirty. Hair station was not hygienic. Shower door was rusted and fell off the hinges. Other guests were loud and obnoxious in the hot tub. No light snacks were offered. Don’t recommend this spa - spend a little more and go somewhere nicer
I'm going to be all over the place with this review. Driving up to the resort is gorgeous and it has great curb appeal. Beautiful lobby. The hallways leading into the rooms are in very poor condition, with lots of damage on the walls and the bathrooms inside are rooms are extremely dated. Bathroom floors are distinguishing. As far as the food and amenities on the property. Extremely overpriced. We went into coton and dry, had some more food and quite a few drinks. I was expecting about a hundred dollar bar tab, not a hundred and ninety eight dollar bar tab. They have a steam shower on sight. But in order to use it, you must book time in the spa. It's not an amenity if you have to pay to use it. Breakfast was okay but once again overpriced. I won't be returning. Going back to the embassy suites, a couple miles away, which has nice rooms and a great breakfast at a much reasonable price. I am not cheap I will pay, but it has to be worth it.
It is not our first visit but I think this may be the last. My husband and I wanted a quick getaway for a few days and chose Lansdowne because our past visits here have always been nice. We booked the corner room thinking we will spoil ourselves. We were so wrong! The corner room was smack in the middle of the floor plan as we exited the elevators. Then as we stepped in, we realized that a normal room bathroom would have been bigger. the corner room's bathroom was so small when you step in to use the toilet you have to actually edge to the corner of the bathtub in order to close the door. And to think we paid extra for this? There were no 2 seater couch in the corner room, just the regular one seater. Yes the room was larger but that was it. The rooms are dated. The restaurant was great. Coton and Rye. The servers there were busy but they truly did their best and tried to make sure every guests were attended to. As we checked out, the baggage concierge stood there refusing to help and we could have used some help. He was engrossed with his phone. The front desk person was also borderline rude. As i reviewed the bill i made a comment that some other guest may have left their bill on the counter and he looked up and very curtly telling me "It's not a bill, maam." then as i reviewed the bill, i asked if the breakfast credits were applied to my bill, he again, not rude but definitely not friendly either, stated, "I don't know. It may have." I did not pay almost $2K for a 3 night stay for this kind of attitude. So for the resort to claim they are luxury is not true. Too bad. We enjoyed our previous stays.
This was my second time attending a multi day work conference at Lansdowne Resort, and it further confirmed why it is such a strong venue for corporate events. Even visiting during the winter months, the experience felt intentional and well executed from start to finish. The property genuinely seems designed with conferences in mind. The layout supports productivity, with spacious ballrooms, well organized breakout rooms, and smooth transitions between sessions. Over multiple days, that efficiency matters, and everything felt structured yet comfortable. Despite the colder season, the atmosphere remained inviting. The interior spaces are warm and polished, creating an environment that supports both focus during sessions and relaxed networking afterward. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating throughout the entire event. Their professionalism and responsiveness were consistent across all days, which makes a noticeable difference during a longer stay. If you are planning a corporate retreat, leadership summit, or multi day conference, this venue is clearly purpose built for that function. Even in winter, it delivers a seamless and well managed experience.
I had the BEST time here celebrating my 30th birthday with friends. The staff at the Spa Minerale were very accommodating, friendly and welcoming. Piedmont’s restaurant was delicious and the service was great. Highly recommend for a weekend getaway as it’s not a far drive from the DC area.
It was an amazing experience. Our high recommend this place to anybody. That's comes to that area or wants to experience an amazing time there's Golf courses, blue pool tables. Wonderful staff and willingness of the staff to help you with anything you need. If you stay there you can user drive range for free and get rental clubs for practically nothing. There's not enough good things to say about this place.Other than I can't wait to go back and spend all day at the spa which was amazing.
It's a cool resort with some nice amenities and a great golf course. When they have big events the experience can be disappointing. I've been there when it's slow and the experience is 5 star. When there is a conference or a wedding it seems to dip a bit. The spa is awesome and our favorite masus are we always come back. I recommend a stay there but check first to see what events may be happening.
My stay was amazing! I had originally booked a king room but was pleasantly upgraded to a suite because I mentioned it was my wife’s (a new mom’s) birthday. I really appreciated that thoughtful gesture! My wife was so pleased and happy, even out 2month old was excited with the view, which meant the world to me. Thank you so much for making our stay special.
Stayed here for a wedding which was not on the premises. I did not get to see or use any amenities . It was clean and nice, but over priced. I don't like paying an additional "resort fee" on top of the room fee, especially when not using anything. I'm not really sure what makes a resort a resort. So I know anything can break at any given time, so I won't dying them for that. It's how they handle the situation after. So the first night I went to use the bathroom around 1:30am. I closed the bathroom door. When I went to leave the bathroom, the door would not open. The door knob would turn, but it wouldn't open. After 15 minutes, my wife heard me. I told her the for would not open. She tried, it would not open. She went to call the front desk, she couldn't figure out how to call using that phone. She called the resort on her cell phone, but that did not get her a person. So she got dressed, went down to the desk. They sent security. So after 45 minutes being trapped, I got out. We were told that it would be fixed in the morning. It was not fixed during our stay. I'm sorry to the people who got that room after us, because I'm sure they didn't fix it and I'm sure it happened again. I didn't feel it was my job to call and remind them to fix it.
The staff at Lansdowne Resort are awesomely great — every single person I encountered was genuinely kind and eager to please. Special shoutout to Morgan at the restaurant bar, who was incredibly kind and helped me quickly select the perfect bite to eat — precisely what I needed after a long day. The property itself is beautiful and inviting — a perfect escape from the daily grind of city and suburban life around the Beltway. Now, about that bed — let’s just say I was instantly transported back to summer camp in the seventies “Bedrock”, lying on a mattress that felt exactly like the one under my sleeping bag back then. A little nostalgia is nice, but maybe not in the sleep department. If Lansdowne gets this one feature right, it’ll be the ultimate getaway spot. Until then, pack your sense of humor — and maybe a mattress topper.
