The Ven at Embassy Row consistently receives mixed reviews, with some praising its location and friendly staff, while others report significant issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and aggressive billing practices. Recent renovations have caused ongoing disruptions for guests, and concerns regarding the rooftop experience and inconsistent service are prevalent.

Stayed here 7/20/26 used separate card for incidents. They then used my separate card and charged me for a full night that i didnt stay. Still trying to get my money back. Started banging on my door at 6am stating i had a silver vehicle there that wasnt paid for. I dont own nor did i rent use or borrow a vehicle in that color. Went downstairs and never saw this person working. Called several times trying to talk with the manager they refuse and tell me to email with no on responding back. Incidents are $100 and they took $175 unauthorized. Got my bank involved. Great location but beware of the scammers at the front desk and valet. Hotel room was very clean. Great AC but way too loud. Also they closed the rooftop, so make sure if you desire the rooftop to ask and get someone’s name for confirmation that the rooftop will be open.

I booked a ResortPass for The Ven at Embassy Row, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The first red flag came as soon as I got off the elevator. Guests have to walk through a dirty, neglected stairwell to access the rooftop, and it was immediately obvious that the property looked nothing like the polished photos online. Once I reached the pool, things only got worse. The pool itself is extremely small and the water was cloudy, with greasy-looking bubbles floating on the surface. To make matters worse, the pool cleaning machine was just left sitting next to the pool and wasn’t removed until a staff member casually came to pick it up about an hour after we arrived. Although the rooftop officially opens at 11:00 a.m., the bar didn’t open until 3:00 p.m. We left before it even opened. During our entire visit, not a single staff member came by to check on guests or even ask if anyone wanted to purchase water or any other refreshments. The most frustrating part was watching a group of influencers arrive to stage a photoshoot around the pool while paying guests were trying to enjoy the space. It felt like creating content for social media was a higher priority than providing a quality experience for actual customers. Throughout the visit, the staff seemed completely indifferent to the poor condition of the rooftop and the obvious dissatisfaction of the guests. The entire experience fell far short of expectations and did not resemble what is advertised online. I would not recommend spending money on a ResortPass here unless significant improvements are made to the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall guest service.

This is a beautiful property in an excellent location, and I agree with many of the recent reviews. It’s just steps from the Dupont Circle Metro (Red Line), with Starbucks, CVS, and plenty of restaurants nearby. The lobby is attractive, and the staff I interacted with were friendly. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not live up to what I expect from a Tribute Portfolio property or a hotel marketed as a four-star hotel. Our room had several maintenance and housekeeping issues from the moment we arrived. The air vent was covered in dust, the bathroom had no electrical outlet, and the live TV didn’t work. None of these issues alone would have ruined the stay, but together they gave the impression that the property isn’t being maintained to the standard Marriott advertises. The amenities were also disappointing. Breakfast is only semi-full service—you have to order at the counter rather than receiving table service. The rooftop bar is nice but feels a bit dated. The pool area has a bar but no servers, and ordering food was confusing. One employee told us to call the restaurant, while the restaurant directed us back upstairs. The “chips and guacamole” ended up being a small bowl of blue corn chips with two pre-packaged condiment cups (guacamole and salsa), which felt underwhelming for a hotel in this category. We were also disappointed that the hotel never communicated the pool would be closed until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday due to a private event. We specifically planned to spend the morning at the pool before heading out for the day, and knowing that in advance would have helped us make other plans. The biggest issue came on our final night when the fire alarm sounded around 3:30 a.m. Guests were instructed to evacuate before it was determined to be a false alarm. It significantly disrupted our sleep, and there was no communication or apology afterward. To Marriott’s credit, the front desk removed an incorrect three-night valet parking charge and awarded 40,000 Bonvoy points after I raised several concerns, which I appreciated. However, as a Titanium Elite member, I expected a smoother stay and a more polished experience. This hotel has a fantastic location and a lot of potential, but the execution simply didn’t match the Tribute Portfolio brand or a true four-star experience. I’ve stayed at other Tribute properties, that delivered a much more refined experience. This experience could easily be 2 stars but giving a 3 because I see such potential with this property. I challenge the GM to explore other Tribute properties such as the Reikart House in Buffalo, which holds to the expectations of being a Tribute Portfolio property.

The hotel is in an excellent location, making it easy to explore Washington's main attractions. The rooftop pool was a great bonus and a perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. Overall, the staff was friendly and responsive throughout our stay. There were, however, a few areas that could be improved. The pool could have been cleaner, especially considering how small it is and how quickly it fills up with guests. More frequent cleaning during the day and a few additional shaded seating areas would make the experience much more enjoyable. The air conditioning unit in our room was also very noisy, especially at night. We also experienced a very unsettling incident when a maintenance staff member attempted to enter our room in the middle of the night because he believed it was unoccupied. Fortunately, we had the security latch engaged, so he was unable to enter. We reported the incident the following morning, and to the hotel's credit, the staff took it seriously and addressed it promptly. One final tip for future guests: the hotel's valet parking is quite expensive. There are several much more affordable parking garages just a short walk away, so it's worth looking into those before parking at the hotel.

????? A Piece of My Heart Stays Here – Hands Down One of the Best of 312 Hotels!. Pure Hospitality from the Heart – An Unforgettable Stay The warmth, genuine hospitality, and welcoming nature of every single staff member from the front desk and valet drivers to the bar servers, chef, and housekeeping team were nothing short of fabulous. They didn't just meet my expectations; they completely blew them out of the water. I’ve stayed in 312 hotels over the last few years, and I can say with absolute certainty that this place easily ranks as one of the absolute best. ?? Please note: This is 100% NOT a paid review. These are just real, raw feelings straight from a deeply grateful heart ??. I am already counting down the days until I can visit again. I have to give a special, deeply heartfelt shoutout to the front desk attendants, Cookie (yes, that’s her actual name!) and Helen. Both of them are outstanding, beautiful souls. They don't just do their jobs; they bring so much kindness and joy to it, and they truly made me feel like family. Thank you all for making my stay so unforgettable!

IMPORTANT: This hotel is undergoing major renovation and shouldn’t be open to guests. Drilling starts at 7:30am and continues all day—no way to sleep or relax. We booked through an Expedia partner with no mention of construction; we never would have booked otherwise. Note: Front desk staff were professional and empathetic, moving us from a lower to higher floor, but the noise and vibrating walls were unbearable on both. This was our end-of-year vacation to rest. We couldn’t.

A wonderful hotel that was so kind and accommodating. They made a huge fuss of my daughter who was celebrating her 19th birthday and made us feel like treasured guests. My only complaint would be the ice machine outside our door but otherwise a wonderful experience with lovely, friendly staff.

I was very weary from travel when I first stepped into The VEN on Embassy Row but I was made quite happy as Wanda helped me with my luggage to the lobby and offered me beverages while I waited for my room to be ready. Once it was ready it was worth the wait and was also connected by the very fun and amazing Ellen at the front desk. She was so fun and I loved being part of the VEN family while staying here. This is a special property with calming lobby, great bar staff and this interesting thing they do with Books. When you stay in your room here you are given a book and a book mark to read while you are here for your stay and you are able to trade it in for another one with a fun person like Ellen at the desk or actually choose a second one to read. Then upon check out we were offered Friend ship bracelets which I wish cherish. At this property there is a rooftop and great pool a very wonderful tea shop and a very fun staff who I will miss. We cannot wait to return this was a wonderful space to extend our times in DC. Thank you, everyone!

The worst stat in a long time. The floor I'm on is under renovations. Rooms all around me are being gutted and updated. While this is great news for guests it’s horrendous for those staying adjacent to the construction. I counted only 6 rooms on my wing that appear occupied and not under construction. The constant banging of doors, power tools, yelling down the halls by workers and banging against walls made it impossible to rest and sleep. Not every guest works days. Some of us need to sleep during the day. That was impossible. When I arrived at the hotel, I checked in and upon arriving at my room was greeted by three contractors standing inside measuring and discussing work. I guess the front desk wasn’t aware that was happening when they assigned me my room? Overall the staff are fantastic and the location amazing. When properties are under extensive renovations that impact guests the property should be informing guests of the work and hours it’s being completed. Specifically, putting guests in rooms that are surrounded by other rooms under construction without informing you on check-in there may be disruptions is simply not the kind of treatment you would expect at a property like this extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with my stay.

Once again, our stay at The Ven was fantastic. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. It is a very convenient location and away from the hustle and bustle of Dupont Circle. The star of the show is Jorge at the bar. His approach to making amazing cocktails is a thing of beauty, and he is the main reason we choose to return here. His creations are the perfect blend of spirits, bitters, and aromatics that cause your taste buds to explode with the complex and perfectly balanced flavor of the drink. I highly recommend you experience his mixology magic!
