I don't want to mark them down for being a misfit for where I am at developmentally...but this is definitely a hotel for college aged folks. It's not functional for the adulting crowd. The lighting is dim so if you're trying to do makeup it can be a slight henderance. The Wi-Fi didn't work well in my room. And there's no ventilation system in the bathroom to clear up smoked mirrors after a shower. And if you leave the bathroom door open during a shower, it'll fog the mirror in the bedroom as well because the room is so small. Anyhow, the staff is phenomenal and very accommodating and I am positive the youngsters love this hotel because it's vibrant and can feel like a party is happening every day:)

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Moxy. The only reason why I did not give the room five stars is because the rooms are on the smaller side and are best for just one person. The staff was extremely friendly. The vibe and atmosphere of this hotel is amazing. The hotel was extremely clean and every day the housekeeper, Olivia, cleaned my room and provided new towels and bottled waters. She was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This place felt like a hostel, just a tad bit nicer. The hotel room itself is by far the tiniest room I’ve ever seen. There’s absolutely no space to store your clothes, sit at a desk to do work, etc. Just a mediocre bed, a TV that’s angled wrong, and the bathroom at arms length. Felt like a compact, claustrophobic college dorm. I despised this place as soon as I tried to check in. No check in place anywhere - until another confused traveler and I asked the bartender and he answered coldly that the bar is the check in….absolutely ridiculous. I also hated the overall aesthetic of the hotel, with its aged millennial design and ugly pink everywhere. This place tries way too hard to be cool and hip - feels inauthentic and super lame. Only redeeming quality was the proximity to central DC. But that’s literally it. You can find much better, larger, more adult-like hotels elsewhere

I wanted to share my experience with the valet attendant, Teddy. He was extremely rude and unprofessional during my interaction. His attitude made me feel very uncomfortable, and because of this experience, I no longer feel comfortable come to this hotel. I hope you will address this matter so that other guests do not have a similar experience.

The Moxy is always a great choice when staying with Marriott. They have great theming, friendly staff and solid rooms. While I did feel like the rooms were small for DC and the location was a bit out of the way, I wouldn’t let it at all deter me from being in my top 5 of places to stay.

I’m so disappointed. We checked into the Moxy DC and stayed for 6 days. The room was 160 sq feet, with a shower taking up 1/2 of this space! There was no closet, no refrigerator, no in-room coffee, and no table. Only 1 light in the room added a somewhat feeble light source for the full i’m room. We kept bumping into the bed, and with almost no sink space or table we were dropping items on a regular basis. The price was extremely high ($ 240 a night) for what we experienced in terms of comfort and ambiance. Definitely not a good deal. On a positive note, the location was great, close to the White House and Smithsonian, so the price charged is for location and definitely not for the hotel’s ambiance. Our DC trip was memorable and one we enjoyed so much! The Moxy was a part of our experience and we are thankful that we had such a memorable time in DC. The Moxy was part of that experience, however, we won’t be staying again in future DC visits.

Here’s a polished review you can post for Moxy Washington, DC Downtown: I stayed at the Moxy Washington, DC while attending a conference, and overall it was a good experience for what the hotel is designed to be. The rooms are definitely on the smaller side — very efficient and functional, almost giving a Japanese-style compact room feel. This is not really a hotel where you are going to spend a lot of time relaxing in the room on vacation. It’s more of a place to sleep, clean up, and head back out into the city. The staff, especially at the bar downstairs, were very friendly and helpful throughout the stay. One thing to note is there is no coffee maker in the room, but there was plenty of coffee available downstairs, which worked out just fine. The downstairs common area definitely has a unique and funky vibe. There were games and lounge-style spaces that made it feel more social and energetic than a traditional hotel lobby. If you enjoy a more modern, trendy atmosphere, you’ll probably like the overall feel of the property. Overall, it was a solid stay for a business trip or conference where you mostly need a clean, convenient place to recharge between activities.

In my opinion, this hotel is not a good fit for the executive traveler for several reasons. The rooms are very small, barebones, and overall feel cheaply furnished. There are no closets, and the room itself feels about the size of one. The atmosphere also came across as a bit hostel-like rather than business-oriented. That said, the staff was extremely friendly, and the location was excellent.

First time staying at the Moxie DC. I was in town for a few days for business. Should’ve read the fine print. The hotel itself is quirky and has a cool vibe. All of the staff members that I encountered during my 2 days were very courteous and friendly and accommodating. However, the rooms are extremely small. I had intended to spend the majority of one of my days working from my hotel room, but unfortunately, the hotel rooms are so small that there is not even a table, desk or chair to sit in. If you want to work and not sit on your bed all day, you’re invited to go down to the second floor library, which is just an open area that echoes above the lobby with music blasting in your ears, not conducive for a work environment. The television stations unfortunately did not work for the entire time I stayed there. Mentioned it several times and kept getting told that they were working on it. Impossible for me to believe that after 2.5 days of working on it, you still couldn’t get television in a hotel. Also, if you are a fairly light sleeper as I am, please be sure to bring earplugs as the walls between the rooms are extremely thin. The showerheads in the bathrooms are amazing. Probably the best hotel shower I think I’ve ever experienced. The vibe on the outdoor patio at night is very cool if you want to sit out and have a drink. And it’s great walking distance to shopping and area dining.
