You couldn't ask for a better locatio - everything is within easy walking distance! The absolute highlight is the fantastic rooftop bar, which offers a stunning view right over the White House. On top of that, it offers great value for money. Highly recommended, we had a wonderful stay!

Rooms: I did not mind the room. It was clean, fully stocked, and what I paid for. I did have a great view of the Washington Monument Grounds. I think back and maybe could have used a larger room, but I was solo so no worries. Service: I did have a surprise charge when I got there, and I did not like the long delay before I could get my reservation. I also was forced into a room change. Location: Right in the busy of Downtown DC. Close to the library. I was able to enjoy the D.C Emancipation Day Celebration (I believe it was in Freedom plaza), and I was conveniently on the bus and train route for public transport to the museums, tours, and archives I had scheduled.

Great location and staff is so lovely. They were very helpful with luggage and in recommending restaurants in town. Valet parking staff was awesome as well! Thank you for a memorable stay! My parents and I loved it.

I had such a wonderful experience at the spa at Hotel Washington. Leo gave one of the best massages I’ve had— calming, attentive, and incredibly skilled. I left feeling so relaxed. Highly recommend booking with him if you visit!

We came for cherry blossom season and Hotel Washington delivered in every way! The location alone changes the entire trip. Washington Monument is a five-minute walk, the Tidal Basin is twenty minutes on foot, and you never have to think about traffic or parking again. Hand off the car to valet (fast, genuinely friendly), and you're done. We stayed in the Monument View King Spa Suite and woke up to the Washington Monument perfectly framed in the bedroom window. The suite itself is full of artistic intention: floor-to-ceiling Amit Greenberg mural, red lacquered bar, wall-sized TV, spacious seating area, and a marble bathroom with a soaking tub. Great shower. Surprisingly quiet for a city hotel. We slept great. The lobby is stunning. Original 1917 chandeliers, checkerboard marble floors, cozy seating. We dined at VUE and Fireclay too. Look for our reviews on those. The staff is where this hotel earns its Forbes rating. From the valet, to the front desk, and housekeeping, every expectation was met. Looking forward to visiting again.

The location is amazing, you can walk to the mall, very close to a very nice bar (the round robin), a nice restaurant (old ebbit) and a French bakery. Service was good, the bartender at the roof deck and at the bar downstairs were very professional. The drinks super expensive. Valet was super efficient. The room was very small, I would remove the side table and the chair as it blocks the passage around the bed. The light in the bathroom shines through the wall into the bed which could be annoying if you need to use the bathroom during the night. Issues: the water coming out of the shower smelled musty. This could indicate the presence of mold in the showerhead or the boiler. The music in the lobby was so loud we could barely hear the hostess.

We started our two night stay with an evening at the rooftop bar. Spectacular doesn't capture it. The music was great, food service was exactly on time and the bar was quick with any beverage you could want. The VIEW though, that wins it for me. Simple static skyline or material shuffled by crane, I don't think the view could be any better.

Nice hotel. Great view of the White House from their rooftop bar. Staff was nice for the most part, but their director of security was a clown. Bald, white guy that probably never had anything worth talking about happen in his life. Don't remember his name because the rest of the staff were so helpful so no need to talk to him further than him saying "I'm security director." I stayed a while back but guy left a lasting impression so left a star off just for him. Just incase he reads this. Your coworkers aren't your biggest fans either, bud.

I am currently staying in one of the most expensive suites at this hotel — Room 701 — and the experience has been extremely disappointing. We paid for all extra amenities, which explicitly include complimentary water in the room. However, when we requested water, we were repeatedly told that none was available, even after explaining that I urgently needed it to take medication. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the staff showed no concern or willingness to help. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was told that no manager was available until morning. Only after I personally went down to the front desk and explained the issue again did I finally receive water — something that should be basic hospitality, especially for a premium suite guest. I even offered to pay for the water immediately, given the urgency, but this was ignored. The overall attitude was dismissive and unhelpful, and I could not help but feel that I was not taken seriously because I am Indian. The way the situation was handled felt discriminatory and deeply disrespectful. For a hotel that positions itself as luxury, this level of service is unacceptable. This was a very bad experience, and I would not recommend this hotel based on the lack of empathy, poor service, and how this situation was handled.

The standard for a 5-star hotel in DC is wild. This is not a five star hotel. I’m not sure what hotel this used to be, but it’s pretty clear it was rebranded—horribly. The lobby is elegant, but when you go upstairs to the rooms it’s dull and a pitiful take at trying to modernize the space. The service is on par for a 4-star; the people are great and very nice. But nothing about this hotel is 5-star material. Edit: the service has really taken a turn for the worst on our second night at the hotel. I called down today for a pair of scissors so I could cut a piece of gauze for a wound. I was told “we will bring scissors if we have them” to which I replied “so will you guys let me know if you have them so I can make other arrangements?” I was assured they would tell me….no one called, came up to the room, or anything. Again, this is far from a 5-star. The lobby looks like a 5-star but don’t let that fool you. I’m editing my review to 2 total stars from 3. Let’s see how they do tomorrow.
