The Kimpton Banneker Hotel receives generally positive feedback, praised for its convenient location, stylish rooms, and attentive staff. Recent reviews highlight the exceptional service provided by front desk personnel, particularly Fountain and Tiffany, and the hotel’s ‘small hotel’ vibe with a fantastic dining experience. However, some guests have reported issues regarding room noise, TV connectivity, and inconsistent service.
A truly exceptional experience. The property was clean, quiet, and very well maintained. Every interaction with the staff was positive and professional. The room offered great comfort and attention to detail, making it easy to unwind. The entire stay felt effortless and enjoyable from beginning to end.
This was a good stay. The location is very good and close to a whole foods and restaurants and is safe enough to walk around. The hotel offers many amenities like a free drink as well as coffee in the morning. Rooms are spacious with nice touches like umbrellas and yoga mats. However, the TV had poor connection and the rooms are very loud. Thankfully they do have white noise machines which helped a lot! Overall, I wouldn't mind staying here again
I had a good stay at the Kimpton overall. The hotel is nice, clean, and comfortable, though the shower water pressure could be better. The location is very convenient, and for the price, it’s a pretty good value. I booked the stay with a breakfast credit, which was very helpful. Just keep in mind the credit doesn’t apply to specialty coffee. That said, they do offer a complimentary drip coffee in the lobby for guests every morning until 10 am. There are a couple of downsides to be aware of. If you’re in a city-view room facing 16th Street, it can be extremely loud. Weekday morning traffic is nonstop with a lot of honking, making it hard to sleep in, and on weekends there’s a nearby church that rings bells multiple times. Another issue was the TV connection. it was very unreliable and seemed to cut out every 10 minutes, which was frustrating when trying to relax. Overall, a solid hotel with good amenities and a great location, but noise and technical issues may be a concern for light sleepers.
During my recent stay at the Kimpton, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service at the front desk, especially from Fountain and Tiffany. From the moment I arrived, they were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive to every detail of my experience. Their professionalism was matched only by their kindness, making check?in smooth and every interaction afterward feel personal and sincere. Both Fountain and Tiffany went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed, offering thoughtful recommendations and checking in to see how my stay was going. Their positive energy set the tone for the entire visit and truly elevated my impression of the hotel. Because of their phenomenal service, I will not only remember this stay fondly, but I will also be recommending this Kimpton location to friends, family, and colleagues. They are a credit to the property and outstanding examples of what great hospitality looks like.
Our stay was amazing, staff was friendly, any accommodations that we needed were handled in a timely fashion and the rooms were way more spacious than we thought they would be. The only thing is the lighting in the room gives very dim, very sexy (just an honorable mention). Other than that would highly recommend!
Kimpton Banneker hits all the right notes: perfect location, stylish rooms, and a staff that actually cares. We were there celebrating my daughter's birthday, and Gozde (the morning manager at Le Sel) was an absolute star. She went out of her way to coordinate a surprise that made my daughter's day. If you’re looking for a hotel with a great "small hotel" vibe and a fantastic dining experience, this is it.
This hotel pleasantly surprised me in the most wonderful way—I’m absolutely delighted. I chose it for our family vacation mainly because of its location, but it exceeded my expectations in every way. What I loved most is that it’s a small hotel, which I truly appreciated. The rooms are very spacious; I stayed in a double room and was genuinely impressed by how large it was and by the beautiful view. The cleanliness is impeccable. The service was outstanding, especially from the ladies at the front desk. Everything is within walking distance along a lovely promenade. I would definitely stay here again every time.
Pretty crap for a Kimpton. Water pressure on the 10th floor was next to nothing. There was more pressure if I would just spit on myself. Called the front desk to get it rectified pretty sure maintenance never actually came and looked at it. Trying to fill the bathtub for my son it too. Nearly 15 minutes to fill to about half way. Door stop in the room was broke off and I nearly stepped on the exposed screw. Windows might as well be open for how drafty and loud it was. Roo. Was refreshed while we were gone only a bath towel was left. Had to call for two more towels and hand towels and wash cloths. Was also offered a fruit tray as a gift/apology it never showed up either. All in all pretty bad for a Kimpton property
100/10 I stayed at the Kimpton Monaco last month and wasn't overly impressed especially considering the price. However this hotel was half the price (avg nightly) and is now one of my favorite hotels in DC. It's not a big hotel but it's cozy, clean, modern and has all the charm of Kimpton hotels. Staff was fantastic. The room was HUGE. For the price and size of hotel, I really expected smaller rooms but absolutely was not the case. The attention to detail in decor was beautiful. Even the elevators were decorated to match the hotel. Unfortunately we never got a chance to sit and eat at their restaurant Le Sal but we got room service. It was DELICIOUS. Really made us regret not having time to actually go eat there. Their rooftop bar was unfortunately closed still for the season but definitely plan to go back. If you want a really nice hotel, with all amenities, that's low cost, this is the one for you.
Wonderful hotel for our Valentine's weekend stay. Very accommodating for us with our two dogs. Friendly staff and clean nice rooms. The food in the French restaurant was delicious. Would definitely stay again whenever we're in DC.
