The Hyatt Place Washington DC/Georgetown/West End receives generally positive reviews, highlighting its spacious rooms, convenient location, and helpful staff. However, concerns regarding noisy lobbies, inconsistent breakfast service, and occasional billing issues have been raised. Recent reviews show a slight decline in overall experience compared to previous stays.
We enjoyed a great stay with our group from Japan. The rooms are big, comfortable, and clean. Breakfast is delicious. Also, there is a Walgreens next door for any shopping needs. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful ending to our trip.
The music is blaring in the lobby like a nightclub. They said they can’t turn it down, manager’s orders. The room is fine and staff is nice, but the shower drain doesn’t flow so you’re standing in water.
We went for a mini staycation for my mother's birthday. Christian helped to make the experience wonderful with the room set up with a few treats and a note. We also arrived later than expected and were struggling with street parking (hotel only has valet) but the staff went above and beyond to help us find street parking and informed us of hours, pricing, and how to pay the meter online/through the app. Would highly recommend just because of how lovely the staff have been. Room was also spacious and clean, and overall the hotel is centrally located and walkable to many places.
The hotel itself is an amazing hotel. The breakfast is great, rooms are spectacular. Unfortunately I was traveling with a group and they overbooked which messed up some rooms in our trip, which is why I bring the review down to 5 stars. If you are a single party traveling Thai would be a good hotel.
Very decent hotel exactly 10 minutes from either Dupont Circle or Foggy Bottom Metro stations (walking). Front desk was highly professional and very helpful. Guest laundry room was very useful, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and they have a decent gym. No complaints.
Ms. LAVELLE provided excellent customer service. Recognized my status, took the time to look up my membership number, and upgraded my room. Thank you! Great location, clean property, nice breakfast. Highly recommend.
Zero issues with the room or water as others have written. Staff was super helpful and friendly (there was an issue with the way the reservation was booked and Tafar (I think) at the front desk was on it and went above and beyond to get me in quickly. Great place to stay.
False service. I am terribly disappointed in the service I received from this hotel. I initially gave a 5 star review because I was extremely welcomed by the front desk upon check-in, signing me up for the membership and claiming to give me free breakfast. However, after checking out, the hotel proceeded to bill me for the breakfast. I called to clarify my membership and they said my rate was ineligible for free breakfast but they would waive the cost “this time”. Why offer free breakfast if my rate is not eligible and then charge me? Ritchie initially made me feel welcome but this false charge has soured my experience. They even tried to seem generous by “waiving my charge this time”. If you’re staying at this hotel, be sure to be wary of any additional charges if they are claiming free breakfast. Would’ve been a great stay otherwise.
A nice cozy hidden luxury spot in the Georgetown area. Our family came to visit for just one day & spent time at the heated pool on this cold rainy January evening. The staff is professional and helpful in navigating the hotel. Floors and rooms are compact with all the essentials. Perfect spot for a stay cation in the city. Will be back!
Trip from New York started rough due to the original booking transferred to this property due to no hot water. Little did I know that was a blessing. Indoor pool, large rooms, great staff and superb location. Zahir (i think his name) checked me in early and made sure my 2 reservations was confirmed. RICH (PM agent) is a GEM i tell you. Super hospitable and a BALL to be around. The bartender (southern accent short hair) was so sweet once you peel back that first layer. So close to everything we wanted to see (Musuem of African American History, Rosebar, Park on 14th, Focus Brunch, Sly Rooftop and Stans). I would come back. 20 out of 10.
