The Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC Downtown receives consistently positive feedback, particularly praising its excellent location, convenient access to attractions, and friendly staff. Guests frequently highlight the helpfulness of staff members like George and Michelle, and appreciate the hotel’s proximity to the National Mall. However, some reviews note concerns regarding room cleanliness and potential noise issues.
To All Who Will Read This Review.... This past weekend, I had the greatest experience of staying at this hotel property (so much so, that I don't where to start). First thing, my partner and I had to change from another Hilton property to this one at the last minute. The first name I will say is: GEORGE. From the moment that I called this property directly; Sir. George took care of everything. From our check-in to our departure this morning, George has been so genuinely kind and helpful. This gentleman has responded me of what extraordinary customer service is supposed to look and feel like. George took every opportunity to make sure our stay was enjoyable and stress-free. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention another amazing staff person at this property. The lovely and sweet Michelle. Meeting and speaking with Michelle felt like reuniting with an old lost friend. She was always smiling and willing to assist. Our overall time at this hotel was easily an A++. Thank you George, Michelle and all the staff: THANK YOU for helping to make this stay memorable. As we told Michelle this morning, we will be back soon. IF YOU EVER NEED A GREAT HOTEL IN WASHINGTON DC-LOOK NO FURTHER. THIS PROPERTY AND STAFF WILL MAKE IT WORTH YOUR STAY.
Excellent hotel. I had seen reviews complaining about the staff and valet parking. Both were great. Everyone was helpful and quick. Rooms where clean and quiet. If you are looking for a place close to the national mall definitely stay here. We were able to walk to the White House in 10 minutes.
Anthony at the front desk is an absolute gem. He was friendly, professional and helpful (not to mention a snazzy dresser). The room was fine although you are definitely going to hear some city noises in the morning. The room has a microwave and fridge and coffee maker which are nice touches The location was great for sightseeing. The price was very reasonable.
Wow, you can’t beat the price & the location! Anthony at reception was so kind & the 3 valets~ Henok, Selemun, & Abie were so sweet & attentive! Abie even tried to fix a scratch that had been on my car for years. I will absolutely be back to this hotel. It was so clean, the price was amazing and the room blew me away. It had a mini fridge, microwave, & a coffee station. It was large with a nice seating area & a huge desk. The location could not have been better, I think three blocks from the White House, & all the museums and monuments were all within walking distance. I definitely parked my car and did not need it until I left. There are tons of places to eat around and there is also public transportation across the street. Honestly you couldn’t ask for anything more. TIPS: most museums are free. I highly suggest this Smithsonian natural history museum, & the national art gallery museum if you like Monet & Van Gogh! Also, don’t speed in DC~cameras all over and get you for 1 over.
Great location downtown DC. We arrived extremely early our eyes set on the Smithsonian National African American Art anf Culture. They had rooms available to check in early but they didn't they were able to hold your bags until the room was ready. Needless to say about less a little toasty when we got in but decorated well with an ottoman designed to rest my tired tootsies after a long tour day. Definitely recommend for location, cleanliness and staff.
Unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations. The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival — we found an ear swab on the floor. We had requested a crib several days in advance, but it was left disassembled in the room. It took more than an hour for us, along with hotel staff, to figure out how to assemble it. There were no windows with a street view in our room — the only window faced other rooms. At night, the atmosphere did not feel very family-friendly. In addition, the phone in the room provided no clear way to contact reception, which was frustrating when assistance was needed. The only positive aspect of our stay was the location and the staff member who helped us assemble the crib and tried to assist where possible.
Let me tell you! My day before entering Garden inn was complete chaos, but when I arrived I was greeted with not only the best hospitality, I was greeted with genuine compassion! And that is really hard to come by in this day of age. I know they were just doing’s their jobs(Being amazing people), I would love to give a special thanks to Dannie and Stella! They completely shifted my chaos into order!
I have specifically chosen this property for every visit for almost 2 decades. The staff are amazing, the hotel is comfortable, and the location is perfect for the traveler. I love the restaurant, Third Rail. Again, the food is always excellent, and the servers are personable and great. I have had one of the front desk people who has always gone above and beyond for me. He has helped me get just the right room for my needs and has always been friendly and helpful. (Daniel Armstrong) provides exceptional service. The manager, George Hummel, is also exceptional. He ensures that the hotel is always inviting and that the service is second to none. I travel frequently to the DC area and have many options of hotels, but I will always choose this hotel and location because of the people and the service.
Hotel is in a prime location as it’s only an 8 minutes walk to the White House. Close to lots of restaurants and other attractions as well. The rooms were larger than average size with a microwave and mini fridge; however, they put us on the 3rd floor facing the Main Street level, which gets quiet loud at night and morning as cars, trucks, and police sirens zoom by. The fitness room and pool were on the smaller side too. The pool is heated but barely… If you choose to valet here, be ready to fork over $68 a night. Overall, the room was clean for the price and vicinity to most places.
I was visiting a friend here while they were in town. When they went upstairs as ended our hangout, I asked if I could use the restroom and was denied. They’d prefer to be on their phones. Maybe policy but nicer hotels are typically more hospitable. Maybe this post makes a difference.
