At the intersection of style and culture, The Dupont Circle Hotel stands as one of Washington, D.C.’s most distinguished destinations. The Dupont Circle Hotel consistently receives high praise for its exceptional service and welcoming atmosphere, particularly its attentive and memorable staff. Guests highlight the hotel's prime location, comfortable accommodations, and excellent dining options, including the Pembroke restaurant. While some concerns regarding room amenities and bathroom design have been raised, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
I’ve been coming to The Dupont Circle Hotel for years for a lot of different reasons, and for the past eight years, it has been my go-to venue for corporate events with two different companies. The reason I brought my second firm back is because of the first-class service I experienced with the first. When you’re planning layered, high-moving events like I do, you need a venue with an event team that knows what they’re doing and makes the process easier, not harder. That’s exactly what you get at The Dupont Circle Hotel. Working with their team is smooth from start to finish. They stay on top of the details, make sure you stay on top of what you need to handle, and on event day, they check in consistently to make sure everything is running the way it should. The food is excellent across the board, whether it’s at The Pembroke, The Doyle, or through the hotel’s catering for events. But the real standout is the staff that runs and supports the events. The men and women taking care of guests and making sure everything is good to go are top-tier. They’re professional, sharp, attentive, and dependable year after year. What really sets them apart is that they remember you. That goes a long way, especially when you may not have seen them in a year or more. On top of that, the guest rooms are very nice too. I’ve also stayed here for family reunions where we booked multiple suites, and the rooms have always been comfortable, clean, and well done. This is an easy five-star review for me. I’ll definitely be back for the next event, whether it’s business or personal.
Where to start? I’ll say the service and attention to detail here was masterclass! From the moment my girlfriend and I pulled in, we were greeted with kindness and professionalism. Our valet was dressed magnificently, waistcoat and all too proud to see speaking with him. Front desk too was nothing short of spectacular, with us not having to ask any questions due to their anticipation for the needs we had before our noticing. The room was cozy, with heated floors coming out of the shower, such a needed luxury many, again don’t think about. I will definitely be back to stay again with my girlfriend. We missed out on dining in the below restaurant, and want to try out the cuisine to dote on your establishment more!
This is our second night at the hotel, so we now feel experienced enough to leave a proper review. We are two adults and one 8-year-old staying in a Deluxe room with two beds. As you can see from the photos, the entrance wall and the placement of the wardrobe make the entry extremely narrow. Getting in and out of the room—especially around the corner of the bed—is quite challenging. For three people, dressing, moving around, and simply entering and exiting the room becomes a constant traffic struggle. I can’t really say that there’s much of a view. There was no complimentary water provided either at check-in or in the room. There was no safety box in the room. The American Express benefit amenity was not provided. Check-in took longer than necessary. The minibar in the room locked itself automatically. Instead of unlocking it, we were offered an additional refrigerator in a room that already has barely any space to move. There was also a one-hour discrepancy between the breakfast service time we were told and the actual brunch start time, which caused confusion and inconvenience. The toilet only flushes properly if you flush it twice. Overall, this hotel is not as luxurious as it markets itself to be. However, compared to similar properties in the U.S., it meets American standards reasonably well. When we report an issue, they do make an effort—though sometimes delayed—to resolve it rather than dismissing it. So while I wouldn’t describe this as a “wow” luxury experience, their intentions seem good. I hope they continue improving. We still have one more night here—let’s see what surprises await us.
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The property is lovely, and the staff is exceptionally kind, helpful, and welcoming from the very first moment. The location is ideal, within walking distance of museums, restaurants, and main avenues. The only downside is the open bathroom concept. While there is a partial wall, the toilet is enclosed only by a glass door rather than a fully separate room.
The DuPont relies on its location and reputation more than the service it actually offers. We were underwhelmed by our experience here. Some aspects of the service were delightful such as the preparation of your room for the evening and the lovely service staff. The service staff were always friendly and tried to be helpful despite mixed communication from management. Amenities, however, put a bit of a damper on our stay such as not having any charging ports in our room and the overpriced restaurant menu. Fortunately, there were a number of wonderful food options in walking distance and we brought or own charging stations. This is definitely more boutique than business, choose accordingly.
We live very close by but stayed at the DuPont Circle Hotel for our Anniversary as a staycation away from the kids. It was marvelous- the very best thing was the front desk staff who were darling and welcoming. We also often go to the restaurant the Pembroke for a fancy cocktail or dinner. It’s lovely.
The location is amazing. Just perfect. But the real reason to stay here is the shower. It might be the best shower I’ve ever used. We were in a suite. I’ve been to very nice hotels all over the world and this one absolutely had the best shower. Get a room and just bask in the glory of this perfect shower!
We love this hotel! Owned by the Doyle group, based out of Ireland, it truly provides Irish hospitality and friendliness along with the best pint in the District. The staff are wonderful and Tom and Liam are top notch professionals. Restaurant is very good and we loved all of the servers we've had during our multiple stays. Beds are super comfortable with crisp linens and duvets. Reasonable garage parking across the street.
Best treatment I’ve received in a hotel. They’ve gone out of their way to make me and my 4 year old comfortable. Plus it’s convenient to everything we need to do and the metro. The restaurant had fantastic food. I’m impressed. Edit: one negative comment. Like the review below me, I agree the air smells musty and is triggering my mild allergies. I would not recommend people with allergies stay here. Maybe they need their ducts cleaned.
Stayed here for a night since I had an early morning flight from Dulles Airport. The pros: Immediately met with friends at the hotel restaurant, The Pembroke. The restaurant is delicious and accommodating. I asked for the tartare to be prepared more Belgian-stye "Americain". All the restaurant staff were really great and very friendly. In particular, my group really liked the staff "Solin" (spelling?) as well as the Eritrean staff who brought a smile to an Eritrean in our group. The cons: The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. However, the toilet didn't flush which was very, very annoying. But if you are like me, and prefer a walk-in shower (hate baths) and enjoy a good bed, as well as a loungable couch area, and don't hear any noise from neighboring rooms, then this hotel is worth booking over others in the area.
