The Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill offers a prime location near key D.C. landmarks and boasts a dedicated staff, frequently praised for exceptional service. However, recent reviews highlight recurring issues with room temperature control, bathroom conditions, and occasional construction noise, impacting the overall guest experience.

If you’re looking for the perfect base for a D.C. adventure, look no further. My recent stay at the Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill was nothing short of amazing. It is an awesome location; situated just a few blocks from Union Station and the U.S. Capitol, the hotel is a dream for sightseers. I was able to walk to the National Mall, the Supreme Court, the US Capitol, and several Smithsonian museums within minutes. The 2026 redesign has truly improved the guest rooms. My suite featured DC-inspired decor with calming neutral tones. An array of awesome food choices from Union Grounds which served great espresso and gourmet grab-and-go options to awesome Bistro 525 to the Federal City Bar where their handcrafted cocktails were excellent, and the "shareable bites" are perfect if you've had a late day of meetings or touring. However, what in my mind really sets Hilton Capitol Hill apart from any other hotel is the Exceptional Service of all the staff. The first night I stayed in a room that was awesome but for some reason the mattress felt a little hard. In many hotels, mentioning a problem with the room would be met with indifference, disregard, or a polite shrug, but my concern was met by the staff of the Hilton Capitol Hill with great concern and kindness. Within an hour of expressing my concern, a manager personally reached out. And the manager did not just apologize but ensured that robust action was taken to resolve my concerns. By the time I finished breakfast, they had transitioned me into a new room with a mattress that was the perfect. When staying in a hotel there is nothing better than knowing that you have a hotel staff behind you that treats you with sincerity and respect. A staff that if something is not right, they solve the problem with a level of grace, kindness, and excellence in hospitality. Such excellence was displayed to me when the staff solved this mattress issue that I had when I stayed there. This exceptional customer service distinguishes Hilton Capitol Hil I believe from our hotels in DC. Whether you’re in DC for business on the Hill or a family vacation to see the monuments, the Hilton Washington DC Capitol Hill delivers a premier experience. It’s clean, stylish, placed exactly where you want to be, and has amazing staff dedicated to ensuring you have a great stay!

?????????? I had an amazing stay at the Hilton Capital in Washington, D.C.! From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Check-in was smooth, and everyone was professional, courteous, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. The rooms are modern, spacious, and spotless, with comfortable beds that make it easy to relax after a busy day exploring the city. I especially loved the amenities—perfect for both business travelers and tourists alike. The on-site dining options are excellent, offering delicious meals with attentive service. The location couldn’t be better—just minutes away from iconic D.C. landmarks, museums, and the vibrant downtown scene. Every detail, from the quiet atmosphere to the impeccable cleanliness, exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend the Hilton Capital to anyone visiting Washington, D.C.—it’s the perfect combination of luxury, convenience, and warm hospitality.

Had to stay here because they are pet friendly and we were in a position to have to travel with a pet. Decent location, looks nice enough from the lobby, poor service. Tipped the door man when I dropped the vehicle off and let him know we would be right back down to grab something else from the car. Came back 10 minutes later and another guy was trying to pull off with it, main guy asked him to wait and he copped an attitude and threw his hands up and got out. Told the other guy to do it, then gave me a dirty look. Floor was under renovation and not finished. Room was clean but incredibly hot, got told the thermostat was just for looks and there was nothing they could do but “open a window for me”, which is to say that it will crack not open enough to really make a difference. So for that price I am now laying awake listening to city noise from the open windows or I can shut them and have the hot room. Offered a room change but couldn’t guarantee it would be any cooler. Also lost hot water a minute into my shower. No care in the world from service as to the inconvenience. Won’t ever stay here again. Hilton on the National Mall is worlds better, has working room control, and has never been less than excellent. I’ll find somewhere else further away if ever in this situation again.

Great location if your visiting the US Capital or need access to Union Station. Rooms are in the process of being renovated. I had one ofnthe newly renovated rooms. My complaint is air wouldn't work and temperature was 80 degrees all week in the room. Management's solution was to open my window. Street noise can be load as a fire department is right next door.

Loved our experience here! We were upgraded to a suite with an awesome view of the top of Capital building! The bed was a little tough, but I think it may have been a murphy bed and the nicer room was worth the tough mattress. The public spaces are lovely and fresh. While our breakfast at the restaurant wasn't amazing it was still solid overall. Really good location to explore the city with a few good restaurants right around the corner. We would definitely go back as it was clean and just felt comfortable. Pro Tip- Park in the garage across the street at the Hall of States using SpotHero to save significantly versus valet. Not even a 2 min walk and it's safe and secure.

My family just returned home from a three night stay. It was absolutely amazing! From the moment I checked in until we left DC, the staff was so very hospitable. I have stayed in many locations and many different hotels while traveling but this felt like my home away from home which was very important. I always felt safe, valued, and welcomed. We loved the location, we loved our clean and spacious rooms, and loved interacting with the staff. Even though the hotel was undergoing remodeling efforts, it did not interfere with the staff ensuring that our trip was perfect. The hotel was clean and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Thank you Hilton Capitol Hill for such a wonderful home away from home!

This is going to be a long review. TL;DR: Woke up to loud construction seemingly from right above my room, gym was closed (though that was posted on website), and by far the worst, woke up to a series of red bites in a row on a few points on my body that seemed indicative of bed bugs I had a pretty awful experience at this Hilton establishment. I awoke to the sound of loud construction, despite me sleeping with earplugs. It seemed like it was coming from right above my room. I had no initial warning. I can't remember exactly what time, but it was before 9am. Far worse, I had several bites that were clustered that seem suggestive of bed bugs (photos attached). I consulted with two friends, one of whom is a doctor and the other medical entomologist, and they said they looked like bed bug bites but you can never be certain. That started a whole process that disrupted my work trip, as I worked to ensure that my stuff would not be infested and get bed bugs to my friend's place in DC in which I was moving to that night or for my eventual trip home. The hotel staff was overall nice and understanding, especially previous to this incident, but was a bit tight-lipped about bed bugs. They did not want to take any liability, but a cursory search through reviews suggests it may not be their first time with this issue (though it would be unfair to fully blame them). They did not realy support me as I worked to kill any bed bugs by laundering/drying my stuff (they said there was no onsite laundry and could not get it dried in time, even though I was in town in for 2 more days). They would not let me have a blow dryer or steamer to clean my bag. They would not let me back into the room to check for any bed bugs myself after I had moved my stuff out to reduce chance of infestation in my things. They did, however, give me garage bags to put all of my stuff in and stored them while I was at my conference—for me to deal with later. They apparently had a third party investigator come out a few days later and that investigator did not find anything, but apparently, the investigator either was not shown the image of the bites or had no comment about it. After several back and forths with the hotel staff, hotel management, and Chase Travel (since I booked through them), they stood firm in not reimbursing me even partially. They did provide a small amount of Hilton points (which expire). Given that you have many choices for hotels in the Capitol Hill area, I am not sure I recommend choosing this Hilton. But, if you do, perhaps booking directly with them allows you to have more possibility in addressing a concern if something goes wrong (though I doubt it because they have less leverage than Chase Travel I'm sure). If you're wondering, after doing all of the steps I mentioned above (drying my clothes, steaming my bag, etc.) at my friend's place, I thankfully do not believe I brought any bed bugs to them or home. But still, what a disappointing stay from what is usually such a reliable hotel chain.

My recent stay at your Washington, DC property reaffirmed why it is my favorite place to stay. The facility was spotless, and the service was superb. I would especially like to commend the valet staff and doorpersons. In many respects, they are the face of your establishment, and they could not have been better representatives. Their professionalism, courtesy, and attentiveness made my visit exceptional. Please extend my gratitude to them for embodying the highest standards of hospitality.

I'm was disappointed! We booked a capitol view room when we arrived it wasn't available because they're doing renovations. I asked the guy at the front desk why didn't they notify us that our room type wasn't available. He stated they reached out to the 3rd party(Expedia) that we booked through. We contacted Expedia and they told us that wasn't the truth. They gave us the difference in the room price we paid. The operational manager told me they would give us one free night of parking and they did so overall I'm satisfied. Although we didn't get the room we booked the one we stayed in wasn't bad, was clean and comfortable. In spite of the hiccups they did what they could to make us happy. Everyone was friendly.

Our room was clean, spacious, and there’s enough room for my things in the sink (I have so much skincare, styling tools and makeup). And that’s good enough for me. And the hotel is really close to The Capitol and the National Mall - would definitely stay here again when we’re back in DC. P.S. This hotel could have been perfect if the room has an electric kettle and a humidifier/air purifier
