YOTEL Washington DC receives mixed reviews, primarily focusing on inconsistent customer service and frustrating fees. While some guests praise the modern rooms and convenient location, recurring issues include aggressive resort fees, malfunctioning amenities (like the air conditioner and ice machines), and difficulties with check-in and check-out. Concerns about privacy and noise levels were also prominent.

Unfortunately severely let down by customer service. The forced resort fee would be fine. But nobody informed us that there was a $10 gift card for food or drink, in fact the only time the desk spoke to us was very rudely when we asked about checking in earlier and our pool cabana booking. The pool was horrendous, obviously most of the patrons are not staying in the hotel making the resort fee a bit of a farce. Then there was a fire alarm at 10pm ISH that was clearly triggered by someone smoking w33d in their room or something as they were outside front entrance. The lifts were out of order from this point. The fire truck took over an hour and arrived about 11pm even though the fire station is next door. I don't blame the hotel for this. But. There was no informing by the staff whatsoever, nothing, all the lifts were not working until morning. And we were on the 7th floor on a warm evening. Nothing from the staff whatsoever? Utterly bizarre customer service. The resort fee is a sham The customer service non existent and rude. The bathroom in the rooms are just disrespectful The air conditioner blows hot air if you select above 69f The pool is essentially used by non guests . I would highly recommend the other hotel in the area that has a pool .

Basic rooms..very basic. More like expensive economy rooms. No fridge, it looks like a fridge has a light but doesn't get cold, called front desk they sent maintenane and the guy said they aren't refrigerators ...he said put ice in them and.thats how you cool something. Don't lose or go anywhere without your room key or you can't access elevators or anything. No Military Discount. Front desk is rude, very short, snappy, uninformative , but manager seems nice. No anything else in rooms Except beds, desk, a bathroom with no TP..they give you napkins ..not kidding.Napkins . There is a hair dryer and iron, ironing board. No microwave. There is a TV but haven't even turned it on. Parking garage is very low clearance and tight. Don't take. Regular sized vehicle..smaller one would do better. Not impressed due to what little they have to offer verse how much they nickel and dime you for everything. Parking extra , Everytime you come and go extra, breakfast extra, ..just like 4 nights we spent over $2500 for a two bed basic room and not high quality neither..

I had a wonderful experience at the Yotel. Ms.Dewan at the front desk was amazing so helpful and kind! Che was great also. Food & drinks are top tier! My fav are the deviled eggs & their ceaser salad. Deck 11 upstairs is always a good time. James is an amazing bartender, Brandon & Malik too. Lillian & Brianna were kind & fun to talk to. Im so glad they stopped the pool parties with the outside promoter. I can now return to my fav mini staycation spot! ? 10/10 to meet new fun ppl & have a good time! The rooftop view is beautiful at night!! If you haven’t bend yet don’t walk run!!

OMG! If I knew the toilet and shower area are see through frosted glass, I would have said no! I’m not staying here! I’ve been with my husband for almost 3 decades and I’ve seen him at the worst times but I don’t need to see him taking a dump. Needless to say, I’m constipated… I’ve had to kick him out of the room so I can do my business and still self conscious because of the see through walls. The toilet door doesn’t even touch the floor or the ceiling! This is by far the worst vacation… uncomfortable and no privacy. The only thing I can say is the employees are sweet. Change the bathroom situation please!!! Update on 5/14/26. I believe Banji is the hotel manager… he locked us out of our room specifically to make us come to the front desk and speak with him. He explained he wanted to upgrade our room due to my negative review. He was so sweet and understanding and honestly made me feel so embarrassed for even leaving such a horrible review. I was like “Oh my God! People really do read these reviews and take them seriously!” I told him I called the morning after we checked in to see if there were other rooms without a see-through toilet and shower closets, and I was told over the phone all of the rooms are the same. Banji explained the headquarters is based out of the country and they wouldn’t technically know what is available in the hotel. He proceeded to upgrade us to a beautiful room with a private bathroom with solid doors. I believe he said it’s a deluxe King room. In all honesty, our original room is good for single travelers. The room is comfortable enough, but only for one person or maybe for people who don’t care about privacy the way we do. Our upgraded room is exactly what we needed to make our stay very comfortable. Awesome location within walking distance of many museums and memorials. The downstairs bar has great drinks and food. I can’t remember the name of the bartender who is always here, but she is super sweet and knows how to manage the bar on her own. I would like to change my rating to a four and a half star review. Thank you Banji for going above and beyond ???

I’ve been in 2 star hotels that are nicer than this “4star” one. I’ve never paid so much money to have to check myself in and then be charged so many facility fees. For what? You don’t provide coffee, you don’t provide breakfast, you barely have parking, you don’t provide a suitable fridge or dresser in the room. Good for you, you have LED lights. Your tv isn’t modernized either. The shower was dirty when I walked in as was the floor and the halls. Not to mention all over your website says “complimentary WiFi” but then you ask what the fees are for and they state “the WiFi” as far as I’m concerned that’s false advertising. Not to mention the in and out fee at the garage says 60 dollars, I just got charged $120. The desk did not confirm pricing when signing me up for this. I would have denied it as the sign on the garage said $60. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, very disappointed for the area.

I have stayed at Yotel on 3 separate occasions and this last stay was my favorite! Everyone was kind, helpful, and friendly. The room and common space areas (lobby and downstairs bathroom) were spotless. It was a good vibe that was refreshing. And the location and price are hard to beat! Can't wait for my next stay at Yotel!

As evidenced by other reviews, this hotel will do everything they can to get money out of you and they do not care about losing customers. They would not even change a date of stay for me with two months advance notice, stating that I would have to rebook new dates, pay for it, and forfeit what I already paid. Never before have I encountered this with a hotel. They hook you with lower rates and once they get you, it’s extra fees and absolutely no changes or you lose your money. There’s plenty of other Capitol Hill area hotels. I recommend booking at one of these and avoid Yotel at all costs. UPDATE: No, Matt, the third party booking site stated that they would modify the reservation and they called you to make the change, but you refused. I have the emails to prove it. You just lied. You could have easily made this accommodation, kept a customer, and prevented yet another terrible review, but you chose not to. Everything succeeds or fails with leadership, and it’s clear by the abysmal ratings of this hotel that it has failed under yours. Good day.

If you enjoy waking on the weekends with no coffee anywhere on the premises (not your room, not on your floor, not in the lobby), like hearing the person in the room next to you raise and lower their blinds thanks to the paper thin walls, and prefer to use the bathroom with only a shortened glass door dividing the toilet from the rest of the room so that everyone can enjoy the experience of you using the restroom, look no further than the Yotel in Washington, DC! Did I mention you are directly next door to a fire station? Bonus! The room was exceptionally clean, the proximity to major DC attractions like the monuments and union station was convenient and the price was good but the no coffee and the paper thin walls (they should offer ear plugs and provide a noise machine) was unacceptable.

Two locals that enjoy quick weekend staycations. Here at the Yotel I was very skeptical in the beginning because of DC congestion, but I said we are here so let's see what's this one is about. Staff at check in was very welcoming, from valet to front desk staff. But it didn't take long for the disappointment to set in. It's Friday night at 7pm and the lounge was closed at 6pm and on the weekend :( Ok, we get up to the room and walked into a matchbox. This room king size bed was so small one 360 turn and you're in the shower, toilet, sink and coat rack at once. Making the best of it, we later went out for ice, which turned into and scavenger hunt for a working ice machine. While on this hunt we seen this cockroach that was so big he should have been charged for his stay, since his room was bigger than mine AKA the fitness center. We stayed on the 7th floor, and the windows was frosting the entire time so we couldn't see anything from our room. There was some orange liquid dripping from the window. Upon checking out we notice that there was an unexplained charge on our account. Asked front desk about it and we were told there was a $100 resort fee. I immediately asked where the resort was cause we barley could find a working ice machine. Overall overpriced and under delivered is the nicest thing I could say.

We stayed at Yotel for a weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were quiet and the staff was all very friendly. I wish there was electric on both sides of the beds so I could've charged my phone on either side, but we worked around it. When we needed extra towels, we had to ask a couple times but they eventually arrived. It was a busy day though. We would definitely stay here again.
