YOTEL Washington DC receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its modern design, convenient location, and friendly staff, while others express significant concerns about high fees, inadequate amenities, and inconsistent service. Frequent issues regarding check-in times, parking, and lack of basic supplies like towels and coffee contribute to a disappointing overall experience for many.
I’ve been in 2 star hotels that are nicer than this “4star” one. I’ve never paid so much money to have to check myself in and then be charged so many facility fees. For what? You don’t provide coffee, you don’t provide breakfast, you barely have parking, you don’t provide a suitable fridge or dresser in the room. Good for you, you have LED lights. Your tv isn’t modernized either. The shower was dirty when I walked in as was the floor and the halls. Not to mention all over your website says “complimentary WiFi” but then you ask what the fees are for and they state “the WiFi” as far as I’m concerned that’s false advertising. Not to mention the in and out fee at the garage says 60 dollars, I just got charged $120. The desk did not confirm pricing when signing me up for this. I would have denied it as the sign on the garage said $60. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, very disappointed for the area.
I have stayed at Yotel on 3 separate occasions and this last stay was my favorite! Everyone was kind, helpful, and friendly. The room and common space areas (lobby and downstairs bathroom) were spotless. It was a good vibe that was refreshing. And the location and price are hard to beat! Can't wait for my next stay at Yotel!
As evidenced by other reviews, this hotel will do everything they can to get money out of you and they do not care about losing customers. They would not even change a date of stay for me with two months advance notice, stating that I would have to rebook new dates, pay for it, and forfeit what I already paid. Never before have I encountered this with a hotel. They hook you with lower rates and once they get you, it’s extra fees and absolutely no changes or you lose your money. There’s plenty of other Capitol Hill area hotels. I recommend booking at one of these and avoid Yotel at all costs. UPDATE: No, Matt, the third party booking site stated that they would modify the reservation and they called you to make the change, but you refused. I have the emails to prove it. You just lied. You could have easily made this accommodation, kept a customer, and prevented yet another terrible review, but you chose not to. Everything succeeds or fails with leadership, and it’s clear by the abysmal ratings of this hotel that it has failed under yours. Good day.
If you enjoy waking on the weekends with no coffee anywhere on the premises (not your room, not on your floor, not in the lobby), like hearing the person in the room next to you raise and lower their blinds thanks to the paper thin walls, and prefer to use the bathroom with only a shortened glass door dividing the toilet from the rest of the room so that everyone can enjoy the experience of you using the restroom, look no further than the Yotel in Washington, DC! Did I mention you are directly next door to a fire station? Bonus! The room was exceptionally clean, the proximity to major DC attractions like the monuments and union station was convenient and the price was good but the no coffee and the paper thin walls (they should offer ear plugs and provide a noise machine) was unacceptable.
Two locals that enjoy quick weekend staycations. Here at the Yotel I was very skeptical in the beginning because of DC congestion, but I said we are here so let's see what's this one is about. Staff at check in was very welcoming, from valet to front desk staff. But it didn't take long for the disappointment to set in. It's Friday night at 7pm and the lounge was closed at 6pm and on the weekend :( Ok, we get up to the room and walked into a matchbox. This room king size bed was so small one 360 turn and you're in the shower, toilet, sink and coat rack at once. Making the best of it, we later went out for ice, which turned into and scavenger hunt for a working ice machine. While on this hunt we seen this cockroach that was so big he should have been charged for his stay, since his room was bigger than mine AKA the fitness center. We stayed on the 7th floor, and the windows was frosting the entire time so we couldn't see anything from our room. There was some orange liquid dripping from the window. Upon checking out we notice that there was an unexplained charge on our account. Asked front desk about it and we were told there was a $100 resort fee. I immediately asked where the resort was cause we barley could find a working ice machine. Overall overpriced and under delivered is the nicest thing I could say.
We stayed at Yotel for a weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were quiet and the staff was all very friendly. I wish there was electric on both sides of the beds so I could've charged my phone on either side, but we worked around it. When we needed extra towels, we had to ask a couple times but they eventually arrived. It was a busy day though. We would definitely stay here again.
This was our first visit to Washington, DC, and we truly enjoyed it. Bonji made our experience exceptional with his warm welcome and big smile he was incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our visit. He provided excellent recommendations for places to visit and consistently checked in to ensure we had everything we needed. The room was clean and well maintained, which added to our comfort. I would also like to commend the lady at the bar, who was amazing, and honestly, the coffee was the best I’ve ever had. I would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to stay here again in the future.
The web site stated that there was coffee and ice machines on every floor and there were but NONE OF THEM WORKED AT ALL, we had to get a Walmart delivery to the hotel for wash cloths as the staff stated that did not have and and did not provide any. the bar and restaurant both were closed had to find other places to eat. ie the Hyatt Regency across the street and the Capital Hill Hilton. I will NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN EVEN IF IT COST ME AND MY STAFF MORE. This place was a total disaster.
Really cool spot with an amazing adjustable bed experience, it's like their thing and nice to have when there is no other place to sit in the room. And we did sleep like the dead in our room with the blackout curtains earning a 10/10. We had a nice overall experience and really liked the rooftop pool. I think the poor reviews are a reflection of the hotel seeming kind of souless in character and human connection. Not the place to go if you're a brand person who likes to interact with staff who are eager to serve. Would only stay again if it was cheap.
Be prepared because I wasn’t !!!! My room was booked through a group. The ratings are high so maybe people already know what to expect but I won’t be returning. No towels No dresser No dinner food service - only breakfast and lunch. Walk to the Hyatt across the street No room coffee / water No shampoo / conditioner The bed is also the couch The bathroom sink is located in the sleeping area No reception- I checked myself in on the computer . Printer didn’t work so a lady came by and wrote my room number on a sticky . note. Room was clean
