?????????? Family-Friendly Stay in a Great Location We stayed here for a few days as a family of three and had a really positive experience overall. The location is excellent—within walking distance of a metro station and many major attractions, with plenty of nearby options for food, drinks, and coffee. Rooms & Comfort:The room was spacious and very comfortable, with two good-sized beds—perfect for a family. We also appreciated the microwave, small fridge, and a great TV with lots of options. The bathroom was roomy, and the lighting was especially good (great for getting ready). The only downside was that the shower didn’t have a hose, which made bathing our child a bit tricky. Cleanliness:The room was cleaned daily and bedsheets were changed regularly, which we appreciated. However, it would be great if more attention was given to hoovering, especially for families with young children. Service:All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were smooth and easy. Food & Amenities:Breakfast was excellent—the best we had during our U.S. trip. Great variety and quality, and it was included in the price, which was a big plus. There’s also a diner on-site with good food options. We loved the free laundry facilities (just need to buy detergent), refillable water stations, and complimentary coffee and tea. Pros: -Excellent location -Spacious, family-friendly rooms -Friendly and helpful staff -Amazing included breakfast -Free laundry and extra amenities Cons: -No shower hose (not ideal with kids) -Could improve floor cleaning/hoovering Overall:Great value for money, especially for families. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend
We stayed here for our Boston-Los Angeles trip by car. The location was convinient. The room was great. Silent and comfortable. The restaurant in the entrance is also very nice. We also choose this hotel because it had car park. Our only issue with the hotel is the parking prices. We paid more than NY which is ridiculous in our case.
Our stay at Holiday Inn Washington was nothing short of exceptional. Having recently stayed at another Holiday Inn nearby, the difference in quality was immediately evident. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine hospitality and professionalism that set the tone for the entire experience. The room was absolutely immaculate—beautifully maintained, fresh, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail reflected a high standard of care and attention. The staff was truly outstanding—gracious, attentive, and consistently going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. What stood out most was the seamless experience. Everything was effortless, and we encountered not a single issue throughout our stay. It’s rare to find this level of consistency and excellence. If you’re looking for a hotel that delivers comfort, cleanliness, and top-tier service, this location sets the bar. We will absolutely be returning.
I was so pleasantly surprised by this hotel stay. Our room is cozy but I actually find the size super comfortable. Bed and pillows have been great. The staff have been friendly and helpful, we were easily able to check in very early with no extra fee or advance warning to the staff. Shower is hot, water provided at no charge in the room. I haven’t been disturbed by noises at all. Room has a mini, fridge, microwave and coffee maker along with an iron and hair dryer. Plenty of soft towels, body lotion! And if you forget any hygiene items you can get them from staff.
I stayed at this hotel for several days during a recent trip to DC. I was very impressed with my entire experience here. First, I drive an oversized truck that wouldn't fit in the hotel's underground lot. Chad met me at the door, helped me get checked in, and then helped find a secure above ground spot behind the hotel. All the folks that worked at the check in desk were very kind, interested in me as a guest, and very helpful in calling me to let me know my room was ready, pointing me to good restaurants in the area, and answering any questions I had during my stay. The hotel's restaurant is the Johnny Rocket that is attached, and the breakfast there was very good. The same waitress, Alejandra, helped me every day I was there, and was very friendly and served well. Everyone I encountered at this facility was very cheerful and customer / service focused. It was very impressive. The hotel location was great for me. It was about a mile north of the National Mall and was very walkable to there. It was also very proximal to many good restaurants and pubs in the area. I know you have to be careful when you're out in big cities, but I never felt unsafe or saw anything that made me feel uncomfortable while I was out in the vicinity of this property. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Super bad experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my stay at Holiday Inn Washington-Central/White House was easily one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had in Washington, DC. If you associate the Holiday Inn brand with a certain international standard, be prepared to reset your expectations completely here. The room felt severely outdated — not in a “classic” way, but in a poorly maintained, worn-down sense. The hallway had a lingering stale smell, and the soundproofing was almost nonexistent. I could hear doors slamming, conversations, and plumbing noises throughout the night, which made proper rest nearly impossible. The AC unit was either loud enough to keep you awake or ineffective enough to leave the room uncomfortable. Service was equally frustrating. Front desk interactions felt mechanical and dismissive rather than solution-oriented. Even reasonable requests were met with indifference, giving the impression that guest experience simply isn’t a priority. It didn’t feel like dealing with a global hotel brand — more like a tired local property operating on autopilot. Cleanliness was surface-level at best. While the room appeared tidied up, the lack of deep cleaning was noticeable in details, which made the overall stay feel less comfortable than expected — especially considering the price point and location near the White House. Yes, the location is convenient, but that’s honestly the only strong positive. In a city with so many newer and better-managed hotels at similar rates, the value here is extremely low. Bottom line: If all you need is a place to crash, you might tolerate it. But if you expect the consistency and quality typically associated with IHG properties, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
The rooms are pretty nice and the staff has been wonderful at every interaction! A couple of minor issues including the revolving door that is out of order and unreasonably high prices in the little convenience market. Otherwise just the typical hotel blemishes or issues. Overall still a 5 star experience for me, and the staff is the primary reason for that!
I was here for a week in January 2026. My stay during this time was excellent. Awesome customer service from all staff members; fantastic location; comfortable, clean room; and fantastic WiFi. I was here during the snowstorm in late January, and it was quick and easy to add an extra day onto my reservation as well—thank you for helping me when my flight was cancelled! While DC is very walkable, this location is also very conveniently located near main bus lines and the metro is about a 15 minute walk. If I had to nitpick and choose one thing to critique, it would be the size of the bathroom. However, this is not the fault of anyone at this location, my room just happened to be next to the elevator. But it was an excellent stay and I would recommend this to everyone! I know I will be back!
I had a pretty good stay overall. I liked that my membership was recognized at check-in—it was a nice touch. The room was spacious and very clean, which made it comfortable to relax. On the downside, the food options were a bit limited, and the outside areas could have been cleaner. With a few improvements there, this would be a solid place to stay.
I had a great stay at Holiday Inn Washington-Central/White House by IHG during my trip to Washington, D.C. The location is excellent — very close to the White House and many major attractions, making it easy to explore the city on foot. There are also plenty of restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores nearby. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a very cozy bed that made it easy to get a good night’s sleep. Housekeeping was consistent and kept everything neat throughout my stay. The staff were friendly and professional, always willing to help with questions or recommendations. Check-in and check-out were smooth and stress-free. Overall, this hotel offers great value for the price, with good amenities and a convenient central location. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Washington, D.C., and would happily stay here again!
