The Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University offers a convenient location near DC attractions and the Capitol, with generally positive feedback regarding cleanliness and value. However, guests have experienced issues with noise levels, inconsistent room temperature controls, and unexpected charges.
We stay at hotels all over the world and travel very often. This was a last minute booking to move our son to DC. The hotel is located on the University grounds which was nice. There is zero signage or directions to the hotel other than the name on the front entrance just like every building. So if your walking from the metro station you gotta search around the campus for the hotel. Once we found the hotel our room was ready and was nice and clean. The safe didnt work and there is not individual room thermostats so the hotel decides your room temperature. Seems very odd to have someone else tell you the temp in your room. Last issue which isn't hotels fault but last night our neighbor decided to have a party at 10pm to 1am. So we found the walls exceedingly thin as we could hear all the party goers conversations and doors slamming all night long. Luckily we wont need to travel to this hotel again. Building photo is a nice beautiful spot adjacent to the hotel.
I stayed here with my family on June 04 2026 travelled from New York. It was Excellent stay with excellent location. Highly recommended for families due to its neat, friendly & secure location. Very neat & clean room with all amenities. Though, one thing to be tested as They charged me extra 75$ through my cr card as a security/ incidental charges with the commitment to be refunded to my credit card account within few days. I’ll update you guys about this accordingly. Anyways, I would give five stars overall for every thing. Staff at front desk was professional & friendly. Highly recommended for families to get in & enjoy their stay without any worries.
Pros.Very nice clean rooms. Our had massage chair, small refer ,tv, shower with wand had shower chair comfortable bed. Close to many dc attractions. has a wheelchair if someone needs one. Cons. Breakfast not included. Its 20 in the bistro. Basic Breakfast eggs turkey bacon, potatoes and several bread and fruit options. Real bacon on Saturday. Overall good experience would stay again
Would love to stay again while in DC. The rooms were super clean. I had a great view from my window. I over saw the Capitol. I was on the 5th floor in the corner. It was super quiet. I never heard my neighbor. The food was excellent that they served. The desserts and coffee were needed on busy mornings. It was literally minutes from the Capitol, National Hall, museums, zoo, and the White House. The Lime scooters were a lifesaver with getting around during high peak traffic times which seems to be all day. They were cheaper than Uber. Hint: use the Lime map when riding instead of your map on the phone. It takes minutes off your trip.
My friends and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was great!! It came at a great price compared to other hotels around and has great quality! We mostly spoke with Mariam and she was extremely helpful and let us know about the free shuttle bus that runs from the hotel to union market most of the day!! She handled all of our questions with patience and kindness. We stayed on the 5th floor and we didn't have any disturbances. It's located in safe area within Gaudet University that is tucked away in the middle of downtown. They also make incredible muffins (for around $4), have free fruit, and have a free fruit water pitcher that was filled with anything from plums, lemon and strawberries, cucumbers. They change it daily. Over all, 10/10, would EASILY stay again!!
