The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City receives mixed reviews, with many praising the convenient location, excellent service, and festive atmosphere, especially around the holidays. However, some guests report issues such as outdated rooms, inconsistent service, and pricing concerns, particularly regarding minibar charges and room service.
Rooms are a little small, but beds are very comfortable. Classy touches in decor. Real marble bathrooms. Good Nespresso coffee in the room. I was disappointed that there was no outlet near the center bedside table. That was very inconvenient. Plus, no swimming pool or hot tub! The amenity soap in the room is apparently something special, as they charge $70 for it. Staff is professional and friendly. Very nice hotel, but only 4-star, not 5-star.
Great location and the customer service is 5 star. That said, I expected a lot more from the Ritz Carlton. The rooms are old and in need of a remodel. No extras that one would expect from a high end hotel ... basic gym, no breakfast, no VIP lounge. Rooms were very clean and the staff was very attentive.
Can’t tell you how many RC properties I’ve stayed at around the world, and as a Marriott ambassador. This one is not indicative of the experiences I’ve had, very disappointing check in experience in which I was asked to pay for an “upgrade” instead of it being included with my ambassador status. Mind you, I just came from the St. Regis with my 10yo son where I was upgraded to the Caroline Astor suite which was an $1800 a night room and as far as ritz Carlton’s, I’ve had similar upgrades but for some reason this one thinks they are special which they are not. I simply canceled the reservation without paying a penny and walked out and took my 2k for three nights to the Jefferson where I booked a deluxe king and they upgraded me to a suite at no charge lmao. They should remove the ritz brand from this location and re brand it as a motel 6. Poor customer service coupled with a busy/loud location and a lobby full of screaming kids is enough to pass this up, no wonder it was only $400 a night. Hard pass. Reevaluate your desk staff and policies.
VERY DISAPPOINTED - tried to do something special for my husband for Valentine's day. Asked Anita to help arrange for a box of chocolates - around $80. NEVER HEARD FROM HER. So I ordered a box from Chatham Candy and had it delivered to the hotel on 2/12 - confirmation arrived at 10:53 AM. We arrived on 2/14 and I asked 3 different people throughout the day to find the box. They took picture of the delivery information and NO ONE GOT back to me. So I had to call and ask a 4th person. She tracked it down and said it would be delivered to our room. I took over an hour and showed up around 5:00PM just as we needed to leave for the wedding event. THAT IS NOT!!!!! good service.
My stay was great! Eating there was an adventure. The Apple Bomb desert was fun and delicious. My favorite part of the day was being greeted by the concierge team upon leaving and entering the hotel. Mr. Solomon particularly because he remembered my name, greeted me with a sincere smile and wished me a good day-everyday of my stay. Upon my return he greeted me in the same manner. It felt like my home away from home.
This was one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. I was here for business travel and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. I had a few issues with my room that was immediately taken care of, and I was compensated for my troubles. They made any wrong, right. The food as Santé was phenomenal. The salmon was cooked to PERFECTION. This hotel is a must stay.
I am a longtime Marriott Bonvoy member but had never stayed at a Ritz-Carlton. At the urging of a colleague I recently booked this property for an extended stay. The overall experience was underwhelming. On the positive side, the staff was excellent, helpful, friendly and responsive. The location is super convenient and central. I would rate the rooms as good but not great, the heat in my room did not work. I will add that the heat was immediately fixed upon report. On two separate occasions the room was not serviced despite the privacy sign not being displayed. Finally, the online menu to the in house restaurant was not accessible trough the QR code. A paper menu was promptly delivered and a member of the staff took my order. This is simply not what I expected from a Ritz Carlton as I have not experienced such issues at three star properties. I should finally add that I did get a points credit due to some of the issues. I would consider coming back due to staff and location and giving the benefit of the doubt.
Did both the high tea time and Christmas brunch events on two different days and absolutely loved both. The food was so fantastic while also matching the service. On Christmas they also brought it live carollers that did a great job with the singing. I would definitely come back for the food, service, and atmosphere
A beautiful holiday stay from start to finish. The festive décor was elegant and perfectly done. Direct indoor access to the Pentagon City Mall made shopping and dining effortless. Service was impeccable—the concierge, bell staff, and valet were polished, attentive, and efficient. Thoughtful touches like Christmas gifts for the children and refined welcome drinks made the experience feel truly special. Everything you expect from The Ritz-Carlton: elegance, comfort, and outstanding service. Highly recommended
My husband and I had a wonderful overnight stay at the Ritz Carlton pentagon city. They upgraded our room. We were offered cold glasses up Prosecco upon check in. And best of all they charged our Tesla to full overnight when we valet parked. A very nice surprise when we checked out that morning. Way to go Ritz!
