The Georgetown Inn consistently receives positive reviews for its excellent location in the heart of Georgetown, placing guests within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and Georgetown University. While praised for its comfortable rooms and friendly staff, recent reviews highlight concerns regarding inconsistent service, noise levels, and outdated bathroom facilities.
Booked a room at Georgetown Inn for graduation 2027. We had booked a room the day reservations opened at a fair rate. The next day prices went up to $1600 per night. Two weeks later we received a notice that there was an error at registration and our hotel room was cancelled. The error was that they realized they could price gauge by cancelling our room and filling it with a higher price. Very unethical business practice. Be aware if you book that they may cancel your room. Have a backup option if you ever stay here. If the hotel is sold out they have no problem cancelling you and bringing in someone at a higher rate.
Loved this hotel! The location can’t be beat…. Right in the middle of shops and restaurants. So cute! It was clean and very comfortable!
Great hotel! Historic hotel yet upgraded with luxuries and amenities. Conveniently located in the center of Georgetown near all shopping, dinning, and bars.
Such an amazing location with shopping and great food around. Our room had a great view of DC, and the service was stellar. The room was very spacious and I enjoyed the gym!
The rooms are extremely nice and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful with parking and any questions we had. Location wise, the hotel was perfect and near all the major shops/restaurants. Such a good experience!
Excellent location that is near many great restaurants and shops. The staff is super friendly and willing to help. They also have parking and a great valet service. Additionally, the rooms are beautiful and very spacious. Definitely the best location and hotel in DC.
We stayed at the Georgetown Inn from October 22-25. Upon arrival we were greeted a bit short. The couple arriving appeared to be greeted more pleasantly and were offered help with their bags. We had 4 bags, we were not offered assistance until we got to the elevators and 2 tipped over and then were offered and we kindly declined at that point. It would have been nice to be treated with the same kindness as the people prior. The hotel is very nice, the room was very spacious, love all the added extra touches in the room. However, the bathroom could use some love, but that is minor. The rooms were not quiet. You could hear every door slam, people next door to you every time they dropped something or moved something. It would be nice to have the doors shut slowly so they do not slam hard. The "wood" floors are nice touch, but really do add sound.
Stayed at the Georgetown Inn at the end of August 2025 and loved it! The location is perfect—right in the middle of Georgetown with so many restaurants, shops, and cafés just steps away. Everyone on staff was super friendly, and housekeeping kept our room looking great the whole week. It felt safe, cozy, and even had a restaurant in the lobby with room service, which was a nice bonus. For what we paid, I think it was an awesome deal. I’d give it a solid 4.5/5. My only wish? A pool! That would’ve made the stay even better. Still, I’d go back in a heartbeat!
Lovely traditional hotel in Georgetown. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was really nice, big comfortable bed, plenty of storage, coffee maker and fresh bottled water (no charge). Bathroom was compact but had everything you needed, good shower, toiletries available including shower cap & cotton wool pads. They also have a great information binder for places to visit. Reception area is lovely with a coupe if seating areas. They have a restaurant & bar attached, really nice vibe and worth a visit. Finally, a nice touch from the staff was leaving chocolates & a card advising the weather forecast for the following day.
The location is the ONLY thing going for this hotel! Just returning from a visit to Georgetown University and the location of this hotel is perfect for proximity to the school. However, the staff at this place are so rude I was dumbfounded. Our room felt like no better than a dorm — terribly sticky fake wood flooring and no coziness at all. The bathrooms are some of the worst I’ve ever seen! I’m only 5’6” and I could easily touch the ceiling. It was so cramped I felt like we were on a cruise ship. I would really never stay here again, especially considering the price for what we got — nearly $500/night for accommodations that reminded me of MY college dorm from years ago, and not in a good way.
