The Canopy by Hilton Washington DC The Wharf generally receives positive reviews, praised for its modern design, excellent location on the Wharf, and attentive service. However, some guests have reported issues with cleanliness, inconsistent amenities fulfillment (particularly regarding bottled water and room service credits), and parking difficulties. Recent reviews highlight both exceptional customer service and concerning maintenance issues.

Fantastic hotel. Very modern and clean. Alex at the front desk at check in made me feel very welcome and was a pleasure to chat with. The room was very nice. I did not get to explore the area a ton as I was in and out pretty quick. Will come back here!

I am currently staying at this lovely hotel that is right on the Wharf, the view from my room, overlooking the Potomac, is stunning and tranquil. This a wonderful location in DC. I felt compelled to write this review, because I had an issue with the location of my room and the two young ladies at the front desk went out of their way to accommodate me and worked it out so I could move to a more suitable room, THANK YOU to Nia and Farman. These days, the idea of customer service can get diluted and reduced by customer service representatives. But, these two did NOT disappoint, they were warm and friendly and we ended up chatting about the neighborhood and they even shared some great happy hour spots to hunt down, ha! I would highly recommend this hotel for the beautiful rooms, the wonderful location, and little things like glass carafes and glasses that you can fill at their ICE/Filtered Water station at the end of the hall, awesome! But most of all, every hospitality employee has been wonderful. Thank you, Canopy Hilton, I will be returning again! **one added note, after chatting with Nia and Farman for a while, I realized that they had no chairs to sit on, not even some anti-fatigue mats. Canopy Hilton: I implore you to provide them with some comfort as they are working all day long on their feet! See you all next time!

I’m a Hilton Honors Diamond member and wanted to clarify an experience I had at Canopy by Hilton Washington DC The Wharf. According to Hilton Honors published benefits, Silver, Gold, and Diamond members receive two complimentary bottles of water per stay at participating Hilton brands as part of elite status benefits. These bottles are typically provided at check-in or placed in the room. ? At check-in I did not receive bottled water, and was initially told that the hotel does not provide complimentary water, and that I should have picked it up earlier. After raising the issue, two bottles were eventually provided. I understand that not all benefits are always automatically offered, but the inconsistent communication and initial dismissal didn’t reflect what Hilton’s program material describe.

My husband and I went for a weekend trip a few weeks ago and had a great time! We were upgraded to a suite free of charge which was beautiful. The service here was top notch especially thanks to Danni at the breakfast/lunch cafe located in lobby. She went above and beyond two mornings in a row and totally made our stay. Thanks Danni! Worth noting that upon arrival we called asking where to park in the garage so we could access elevators easily and the front desk gave us instructions and never mentioned valet. We ended up paying over $200 for parking instead of what could've been $40/day or $120. So I do highly recommend valet or cheaper parking options if you are parking overnight.

I've stayed at this property over a dozen times in the last 3 years with no previous issues, but the last stay had multiple issues. The hotel continually smelled like weed, front desk staff were not friendly/or helpful, and there were various billing errors that weren't fixed by staff or reimbursed by Hilton. Canopy by Hilton offers $18 daily food and beverage credit to Hilton Diamond members but doesn't reimburse the charges appropriately. Over my 9-night stay, I had various meals at the restaurant, and my credit card was charged even if I stayed under the $18 limit. The hotel room and location was great but the service during the stay was disappointing.

Probably the best hotel I've stayed at in DC. The rooms are new and clean. The shower is amazing! The bed is very comfortable. The staff was very attentive and quickly provided extra blankets when requested. My only nit was that there's no free breakfast. There are no microwaves in the room, but there's one easily available on each floor in the hall. Awesome location near great restaurants and within walking distance of monuments.

We stayed at Canopy by Hilton Washington DC – The Wharf. The room was good and clean, and the partial view was fine for our stay. The location itself is nice and walkable. However, the parking situation was very inconvenient and extremely expensive. We paid $65 to park the first night, and afterward my husband had to move the car to a different parking lot that cost $25 and then walk about 10 minutes back to the hotel. This was frustrating and took away from an otherwise pleasant stay. Better parking options or clearer, more affordable arrangements would greatly improve the guest experience.

This was a beautiful property. It is perfectly located, it is clean, fresh, and well put together. This was very up to date. Their breakfast was very good and the service from Dani, Emma, and Mulu was excellent. Honestly, this is what I hope for when going to a Hilton property and they delivered.

I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so far below what was advertised that I feel obligated to document it, especially because it was clear the staff did not care at all about the issues we experienced. I booked (and paid extra for) a water-view room and was given a room facing an office building instead. On top of that, there were stains on the towels, lamp shade, and floor, and none of it was acknowledged or corrected by staff. Parking was an absolute disaster and a major failure of service. Valet and self-parking were both full when we arrived, and we were told to “drive around and find something.” Any garages we could find were blocks away. To make it worse, the hotel pulls the $65/night valet or $60/night self-parking cost out of the $75/night incidental hold, so once you use their parking you’re essentially locked in, and you still get charged fees every time you leave and come back. I even called the day before to confirm parking, and the information I was given turned out to be completely inaccurate. Because of all this, we spent over an hour trying to secure a place to park and missed a $120 concert, which was extremely frustrating and feels like a direct financial loss caused by the hotel’s misrepresentation. There are no vending machines, so you have to go to the lobby for water. Restaurants nearby close early or stop serving food, leaving only overpriced, bland options. Drinks were $15+ a piece everywhere, and the food looked better than it tasted. To put in perspective, we paid $80 for a flatbread a little over the size of my hand, a jack and coke, and margarita….just to see mice running at our feet. Breakfast isn’t included either, and the staff literally ignored us while we waited for a table. Multiple employees saw us standing there and did absolutely nothing. The only person who showed any concern was a valet attendant who moved his personal car so I could park, which pretty much highlights how poorly managed the entire operation is. Even navigating the property is inconvenient; you have to take two different elevators just to reach your room from the garage. Overall, this stay was nowhere near the quality advertised and absolutely not worth the money. Between the inaccurate room description, cleanliness issues, misleading parking information, staff indifference, and the financial loss from the concert we missed, I regret choosing this location for my birthday and would not return.

I had one night prior to going to National Harbor and I wanted to stay in DC. I found a room at the canopy and figured. Let me stay here until I can go to national Harbor. The hotel was convenient off the metro. It was about a 10 minute walk from L’Enfant Plaza. The hotel is in its own little cul-de-sac with other businesses, and I honestly did not realize how extensive the wharf was until this trip. I arrived in the first floor of the building where the hotel is and was shown to the elevator where I asked them if they could hold my bag while I was exploring since check-in was not until three they were very kind and properly had my bag secured and offered that the rooftop was available. I wandered the Wharf; found lunch, and explored the restaurants. I came back after 3 pm. The staff was very kind and prompt. They remembered me and gave me my bag, and pointed me in the right direction for my room. Their elevators are pretty cool, you scan your card and press what floor you are going on. The elevator dashboard points you to the right elevator. I was on the 4th floor. The room was clean, quaint and well equipped. The full length mirror was helpful. There was a Nespresso machine, a glass water bottle and glasses, and a refrigerator. I really appreciated that there was filtered water and ice down the hallway and I kept the water bottle filled.my favorite part was the tv said my name and “Welcome”. The view from the room was incredible. I watched the sunset from the room. That night, I walked to a restaurant in the Penn Quarter. It was around 20 mins and a beautiful walk through the National Mall. The bed was comfortable. I watched the sunrise from the room. It was a beautiful way to stay in DC and enjoy what the Wharf and local DC had to offer before going down to National Harbor.
