The location is great, and the room is clean. However, the HVAC unit inside the room is a major downside. It goes off every two minutes, regardless of the temperature setting. The sound of the air blowing is extremely loud. If it continues to blow, it sounds like white noise, but it only lasts for a few minutes before turning off for a minute or two. Then it goes off again, and this cycle repeats continuously without any breaks. Literally every two minutes it goes off. The constant noise is so loud that it wakes you up at night and make it difficult to hear the TV. I was so exhausted in the morning because of the lack of sleep.

I echo Mariah Scott's previous review. The room condition remains exactly how she described during my stay on 7/28/2026. Everyone was friendly, but the stains, rusts, dusts, chipped paints, scratches, & other types of damages are everywhere throughout the room. I had to use my own sanitizing wipes to clean some of the stains on the chase, chair, and light switches. The stains do come off, which tells you that the cleaning staff just don't want/care to clean, and there are no standards and measures holding the cleaning & maintenance staff accountable. Definitely a three star hotel only when it comes to cleanliness. This is just how most Hilton hotels are like nowadays with the exception of Hilton Arlington Rosslyn The Key (now that hotel is immaculate). I only took one star off here, because the lobby area is nice and relaxing, the front desk people are friendly and professional, and the location is superb. Additionally, they also do offer free wine tasting in the restaurant bar area from 6-7 PM. Each guest gets two glasses, we are not supposed to switch from white to red, and vice versa. Personally, I don't like how their hand soap smelled. The body wash had water inside, again it just shows a lack of care and attention to details. There was a fly in the room... The flush was weak at least in my room, so I had to flush the toilet twice or three times... Special thanks to the front desk lady who was not on the clock but still took immediate action with our checkout today (7/29) instead of making us wait around for her colleague to finish with a small group of guests.

My husband and I stayed in the King Studio Suite for 4 nights. The view was great, but the room was in need of a deep cleaning. There were stains & scuffs all over the walls/doors, the floors were dirty, the chairs were dirty, and stains on the couch. We found a hairball in the hallway. House keeping wasn't the best. We left our room around 7AM and left the sign outside for our room to be cleaned. When we got back at 1:30PM, the room still wasn’t cleaned. Wi-Fi wasn’t the best, but that wasn’t a big deal for us. The front desk staff was very helpful from the time we checked in to check out. The location of the hotel is great. It’s very walkable and there’s plenty of restaurants around. The view is amazing, but the room could definitely be cleaner. I won’t be staying here again and wouldn’t recommend it to others.

We stayed four nights over the July 4th weekend and had a corner room with two queen beds overlooking the Potomac River. The location is fantastic, and having a river view certainly made the stay more enjoyable. One of the more memorable parts of our trip was completely unexpected. We had gone to the National Mall for the 250th anniversary celebration but were evacuated due to severe weather. We returned to the hotel disappointed, only to end up watching the fireworks from our room overlooking the Potomac. Sometimes Plan B works out just fine. The service throughout our stay was pleasant, and the staff we encountered were friendly and welcoming. The shower was also very good, with excellent water pressure. The reason for the four-star rating is that the hotel and guest rooms are beginning to show their age. The air conditioning wasn't cooling the room properly—even with the thermostat set to 65 degrees, we were sweating at night. The towels were rough, the chaise lounge had noticeable stains, and the bed on one side felt worn. Even the bathroom amenities missed the mark, as both the body wash and hand soap were so diluted that they literally felt like water. Valet parking was definitely on the expensive side, although that's fairly standard for hotels in major cities these days. Overall, this is a hotel with a great location, friendly service, and beautiful river views. With some refreshing and a little more attention to the guest-room details, it could easily be a five-star experience.

Second time at this hotel. I really enjoy the location and overall the hotel is clean and well equipped. Unfortunately, the coffee maker in the room was not working. I did leave a note for them to check it. The restaurant in the hotel is unfortunately not up to par. One morning for breakfast, I joined my work colleague after she had ordered. Despite being at the table for at least a half hour, no one ever came by to take my order and I had to leave for my work meetings without eating. It is clear the restaurant is terribly understaffed.

We stayed at this location about 5 years ago and about a month ago. To say it went downhill is an understatement. The rooms were utterly beat up, the air conditioning was not the greatest which included the boiling hallways, certain chairs were literally sticky, and the rooms just felt dirty. Unfortunately the staff also seemed to be as bad. We walked past the check in desk one night thinking a large party was checking in - nope it was the staff crowding around yelling at each other.

The room wasn't cleaned properly after we found someone glasses underneath the nightstand and chocolate candy under the little thing to hang clothes. My girlfriend mentioned it to the front desk and no accountability was taken. All she said was maybe it was a little kid left it there. No, I'm sorry about that. I never wanted to make it a big issue, so I made my girlfriend handled it. The hotel is very nice and convenient to everything with a beautiful scenery.

Great location to walk to all. Garage right in the building(don't wait for the valet-park it yourself and save some time!) And rooms on the larger side for a city. Ask for a room with a view maybe. Great happy hour and helpful staff. We did smell pot in the room (through the ac? Someone in thr hallway? Next room?) It stopped eventually but someone enforcing a no smoking anything policy would be great.

Fantastic hotel. Very modern and clean. Alex at the front desk at check in made me feel very welcome and was a pleasure to chat with. The room was very nice. I did not get to explore the area a ton as I was in and out pretty quick. Will come back here!

I am currently staying at this lovely hotel that is right on the Wharf, the view from my room, overlooking the Potomac, is stunning and tranquil. This a wonderful location in DC. I felt compelled to write this review, because I had an issue with the location of my room and the two young ladies at the front desk went out of their way to accommodate me and worked it out so I could move to a more suitable room, THANK YOU to Nia and Farman. These days, the idea of customer service can get diluted and reduced by customer service representatives. But, these two did NOT disappoint, they were warm and friendly and we ended up chatting about the neighborhood and they even shared some great happy hour spots to hunt down, ha! I would highly recommend this hotel for the beautiful rooms, the wonderful location, and little things like glass carafes and glasses that you can fill at their ICE/Filtered Water station at the end of the hall, awesome! But most of all, every hospitality employee has been wonderful. Thank you, Canopy Hilton, I will be returning again! **one added note, after chatting with Nia and Farman for a while, I realized that they had no chairs to sit on, not even some anti-fatigue mats. Canopy Hilton: I implore you to provide them with some comfort as they are working all day long on their feet! See you all next time!
