The Pendry Washington DC - The Wharf consistently receives high praise for its exceptional service, luxurious accommodations, and prime location. Guests frequently highlight the attentive staff, stunning views, and upscale amenities, including the spa and rooftop dining. However, some reviews indicate occasional issues with communication and room availability, particularly regarding room upgrades and maintenance.
I stayed in room 801, the WHOLE ENTIRE STAFF WAS IMMACULATE! I came to celebrate my birthday and they made it so magical and special. I was given a complementary cake for my birthday, the rooms were sparkling clean every time I left my room, no problems AT ALL! Again, the entire staff’s attitude was on point, extremely polite and helpful! I appreciate the chef as well! Brunch was outstanding! Chefs kiss? overall I 100% enjoyed my stay. Bring the whole family because you will not be disappointed!
I just left the DC Pendry hotel and I can't brag enough about my stay! I came in for work and they treated my like royalty. All staff go above and beyond, from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the staff at the bar and restaurant upstairs. They are so incredibly accommodating! My flight home was delayed and the spa offered a day pass for me to relax in their relaxation room. I 100 percent recommend staying here!
I spent a wonderful long weekend in January at your hotel, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. The trip was to celebrate my daughter’s birthday—she lives in DC—and I’m so glad I booked a double room. Once she saw the room and experienced the incredible customer service, she decided to stay with me for the whole weekend. Every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful. My daughter was greeted with birthday wishes upon arrival, and a special treat was even sent to our room, which made the celebration feel extra thoughtful. We enjoyed a fantastic dinner at the rooftop—delicious food, excellent service, and a stunning view. The spa experience was equally amazing and added the perfect touch of relaxation to our stay. Kudos to the entire Pendry DC team for making our weekend so memorable. I’ll definitely be back soon!
The only strong positives I can name are the view, the year-round hot tub, and the fact that its a new build clean modern property. Compared to other Pendry locations, it doesn't have a particularly strong sense of place and really lacks the art collections I've seen prominently displayed. It's not bad, it's just not what Ive come to expect from the brand. I gave a separate review for Moonraker - which I found deplorable. The prices were clearly gauging even by DC standards. After late night drinks and breakfast the following day, would never ever recommend that restaurant.
Every staff member is very friendly and helpful from the concierge staff to the valet to the housekeeping staff. The room service was great- all the food was yummy! I had the Caesar salad with salmon. The location is perfect! Everything you could possibly want is in walking distance. Thank you to everyone who made our stay at the pendry great!
I spent my 44th birthday at the Pendry! The amazing views and service was top notch!! A front desk employee helped my boyfriend decorate the room for my birthday. She’s very sweet. Apologies for not remembering her name. I loved it and would definitely stay again!!
The service and professionalism were truly exceptional — we felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. I honestly can’t say enough positive things. The location is gorgeous, and if you throw on your tennis shoes, you can walk less than a mile to the monuments. The restaurant and bar are fabulous, the service impeccable, and the gym is spotless. The pool and hot tub overlook the Wharf, which is absolutely stunning. For a boutique hotel, this place exceeds every expectation. Highly recommend.
Stayed for 2 nights and for the price the service is lack luster. The front desk is slow and never can give you a straight answer. They always say “im not sure” or “maybe that can happen.” For instance during my stay we were given an upgrade but were told they need to get the room ready before check in. We had to wait an hour and when we went back the frond desk said “its not ready, im not sure what is going in with the cleaning staff” so instead of figuring it out she blames the other staff section. We never got the upgrade, so we tried again tomorrow and were told there is no room available. The worse part was when we finally checked in the first night. After we came back from dinner we noticed someone was in our room. We called the front desk to complain and they said “oh thats weird no one should of been in your room after 5 pm” so now we are concerned about the safety of this place. We kept the do not disturb sign and denied any room service the entire trip. My complaint isn’t about missing the upgrade. It’s about basic communication and trust that a hotel has with their forward facing employees. The front desk was awful and couldn’t solve any problem thrown at them. 0 stars on hospitality. If i can finish with one good thing, the food and drinks at their restaurant and bar were very good.
We recently stayed at the Pendry Washington, D.C., and it was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The service was flawless, warm, and attentive—every detail felt thoughtfully taken care of. The room itself was pure comfort and luxury. We were greeted with fresh strawberries, which set the tone for the entire stay. The towels felt like something from the most exclusive spa, and the bed and pillows were so comfortable we didn’t want to get up in the morning. Breakfast in bed? Absolutely divine. Every bite was perfection, and it felt like such a treat to enjoy it with the incredible view right from our room. Speaking of the view—breathtaking! The bathroom was another highlight. The shower was massive with excellent water pressure, and the body wash smelled so good that we ended up buying it for our home. It’s little touches like these that make a place stand out. From start to finish, our stay was flawless. The Pendry truly delivers a 5-star experience and then some. We can’t wait to come back!
We stayed one night in a water facing corner room on the 4th floor. The music outside our room was so loud when we arrived we immediately requested a higher floor, but was told there was nothing they could do. The room layout was weird, lots of wasted/unusable hallway space. The bed post blocks your view of the television. That didn’t matter, because the television stopped working the next morning. Additionally, we only had one coffee cup in the room for the two of us. The manager promised to make all this right. We got a few comped drinks at the rooftop bar, which is stunning! The Moonraker view is cool, but our service was exceptionally slow! None of this made up for the overall bad experience we had during our short stay. When you spend $1,000 per night, you expect near perfection! This place is very, very far from that! You’re almost guaranteed to have a better luxury hotel experience anywhere else in DC! I couldn’t even get the front desk to close out my bill and provide a copy of my receipt upon checkout. Hard to say your luxury when you can’t get the basics right. I had such high hopes for this place, very sad!
