The Residence Inn Washington Capitol Hill/Navy Yard offers a modern and recently renovated experience, boasting a prime location near Nationals Park and a friendly staff. While praised for its spacious rooms and attentive service, recent reviews highlight inconsistent parking availability and operational issues, including elevator outages and breakfast crowds.
One block away from Nationals Park, such a great location. Rooms are spacious and clean! Valet/parking is first come, first serve (not always available) -- but Parker the valet manager is AMAZING. So kind and helpful, worked with us to ensure best case scenario.
Very nice hotel but 1 stars for customer service and no mention of lack of parking. This hotel only has Valet parking at $65, the surrounding parking has a bit of a walk. The frustration is when we parked at the parking lot in front of the hotel managed by ABM Parking service "The Yards DC - LOT F", theirs no mentioned of in and out parking until you pay the parking fee of $45, then on the receipt says "No In and Out Parking" which is very inconvenient since we planned to go out and explore and leave the car there overnight, after reading reviews and with my experience they are scamming people there. So this Hotel gets an F for not taking care of their customers... very inconvenient
Stayed here two nights for a conference. Hotel was recently renovated and looks like new. Staff were attentive and pleasant. My room was spacious and clean. I loved the attention to detail - make up wipes in bathroom (life saver!), chilled towels in the fitness room. Had breakfast both mornings. The offerings were plentiful and the breakfast attendant did a great job replenishing everything. It will be my first choice when I return to the area. Thank you for a great stay!
From the moment we got there, the staff really went out of their way to make everything easy for us. Valet parking is limited, but Parker jumped in right away and helped us find a spot near by and explained how everything worked, he didn’t have to but he did it with such a great attitude. Our whole stay was smooth, no issues at all. Check-in and check-out were super easy and they even let us check in early which was a huge plus. Would definitely stay again!
By far one of the best-looking and well-maintained Residence Inn properties I’ve stayed at. The design feels fresh, modern, and thoughtfully put together. What truly elevates the experience is the hospitality. Leonard and the team were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and detail-oriented, making sure every part of the stay felt comfortable and seamless. When I’m back in DC, this will definitely be my go-to.
This hotel is absolutely incredible after the renovation. The transformation is night and day. Everything feels fresh, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The entire property looks amazing from the lobby to the rooms. The location is also perfect and makes it easy to get around and enjoy everything nearby. Honestly, it is complete awesomeness all around. The design, the atmosphere, and the overall experience are all top tier. Definitely a 10 out of 10 and I will absolutely be staying here again.
I stayed at this hotel recently for five nights. The staff were exceptional -- so kind, so welcoming, happy to help. An absolute delight to interact with. The room was quiet and clean. Breakfast was delicious. All around, highly recommended!
The staff was professional, friendly, and extremely helpful. The rooms were very clean and had a lot of space that made it easier to unwind from a long day of travel. I loved great restaurants, CVS, and everything I needed was in close walking distance.
If you have work in the Navy Yards area, this is a great place to stay. It is undergoing some lobby renovations, but rooms and stay quality is unaffected. There's also an amazing and very responsive General Manager for this property who is navigating the remodel with her team quite well.
Tldr: unprofessional front desk, construction going on causing noise and inconvenience. This particular Residence Inn is damaging the Marriott brand. We stayed here in late December. First bad sign - Room was not ready when we arrived past 6 pm. We had to wait 20 minutes. Asked the front desk (on second floor) where we can find a spot to drop our car off. He insisted that it was obvious - right in front of the hotel. Then he impatiently walked over to the window to point out the drop off point. Oops, the spots were all taken. He then told us that the parking garage was full (not true as we later spoke to the valet - plenty of spots were available). The whole 3 days we were there, construction started promptly at 8:30 am. Work was happening on 7th floor and the workers were tiling the area in front of the elevators on 2nd floor. They were also cutting tiles right in the vicinity and you could see the dust in the air. On checkout day, we couldn't get an elevator to come to our floor. We waited and waited and finally decided to use the stairwell and lugged all our luggages down. No one was at the front desk. When someone finally showed up, he asked how everything was. Bad, I said. He did not ask me to elaborate. At that point, I was just relieved that we were finally leaving.
