The Morrow Washington DC offers a stylish and well-located hotel experience in the heart of the city. Guests consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, particularly at the front desk, and highlight the upscale design and amenities, including a rooftop bar and fitness center. However, some reviews mention occasional issues with service speed, unreliable Wi-Fi, and noise from nearby train tracks.
We had a wonderful stay at The Morrow Washington DC, Curio Collection by Hilton, and one of the biggest reasons was the exceptional service we received from Betelhem at the front desk. From the moment we arrived, she was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely caring. She went far above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable, handling every request with patience, professionalism, and a warm smile. It’s rare to come across someone who is not only efficient and knowledgeable, but who also truly makes guests feel valued and cared for. Betelhem’s accommodating nature and attention to detail made a lasting impression on our family and elevated our entire experience at the hotel. The Morrow is already a beautiful property with a great atmosphere and location, but team members like Betelhem are what truly make it stand out. Thank you for such outstanding hospitality — we look forward to returning!
Personally I loved the location and aesthetically it looks nice. The staff were friendly enough, and quick to respond to the questions I did have; however, being that it's considered a five star hotel I expected more. The sensor that opens the entrance door was not working. My digital key was not working consistently, and the wait time for the elevators were unusually long. At first I thought it was just me until other guest shared the same sentiment while we were waiting. For the price I was expecting the bedding to not have rips/a whole. Nor did they have robes or slippers in the room which I expect at a luxury hotel. The rooftop was nice, though service was a bit slow. They did offer complimentary water, coffee, and tea in the room.
Overall great experience! Would stay here again 11000% :D Betty and Charlie were so helpful! They helped me out with parking, booking reservations, and organizing our whole trip! The rooms were clean everyday and whenever we called room service, the were fast to respond. The rooftop is dope! Tuesday happy hour day, and the food is delicious! Chef Anthony was so sweet to us, we honestly booked this hotel because we’re fans of Top Chef. Betty and Dina checked on us everyday and helped us organize our days. The hotel is located in a perfect area with parking so you don’t need to pay for $75 valet a night. Only thing I’d recommend the hotel work on is answering their phones. But that’s it!
Betty at the front desk earned our 5 star review for being very kind and ensuring we were accommodated as diamond members. The suite we were upgraded to was truly beautiful with a spa like bathroom that was an escape of it's own. We love the Santal 33 bath products, the deep deep soaking tub, and the steam shower. All the little details from the lighting to the themed decor and custom furnishings are all high end and add to the elevated atmosphere. We chose a corner room on the app and it was large and quiet. We enjoyed the view of the metro station and train tracks and watching the different trains come and go. The noise was not a bother for our family and a high floor or courtyard side room would eliminate this issue all together if you are sensitive. I don't think it fair to see reviews hold common train traffic and their noises against the hotel. It's very apparent when booking that the hotel is conveniently located next to the NOMA metro station and right up the tracks from Union station. Be aware and book accordingly and you will still have a wonderful stay here. We have previously stayed in a balcony room with a view of the capital rotunda and enjoyed the views and having access to a simple outdoor space. The rooftop also has some of the best views from this area. We previously dined at LeClou and tried Marcus this occasion which has replaced it since our last stay. It's an upgrade from the prior and we found while the menu is costly, the quality, service and experience matched the price tag. The staff made us feel celebrated and the pastry chef presentation was phenomenal. We didn't use valet, but they are a 3rd party and didn't seem overly welcoming on the street. Parking is tricky in this area, so plan ahead or prepare to pay $70 for this service. The bell team was kind and while we didn't need their service they were present. You can walk to a lot of great restaurants and the market very easily here, but for tourists looking to have access to the bigger attractions you should be prepared to metro or have a 1 mile walk to be in the heart of the national mall action. Only negative was the gentleman working the front desk in the evening on Friday 3/6. He was not welcoming when we got keys and seemed to frustate multiple patrons with his lack of kindness and connection. It was my Birthday the following day which I mentioned when sharing gratitude for Betty and sharing my ID with him, and he didn't not acknowledge the occasion nor offer any kindness or warm welcome to the property as a loyal guest choosing to celebrate at his hotel. Very odd and the opposite of the tone set by other employees at the hotel, and it's a shame that he's impacting others experiences in a negative way at a wonderful property. Please fix your front doors ASAP and have a doorman on duty as other 5 star hotels do for when they act up. The handicap access was broken during our stay and it was very difficult for us coming and going as I am recoveing from a spinal surgery and my wife was pushing our toddler in a stroller. This seems like a simple thing to address and shouldn't be overlooked the way it was, especially for those guests with mobility scooters or wheelchairs who rely on the powered doors. We have stayed multiple times now and will absolutely be back.
Very good staff, beautiful ambiance, spacious clean and comfortable rooms. However, they should consider a different valet company, they weren’t the kindest. Hotel staff were superb, especially the front desk and bellhop. The bar upstairs called the Sly, has really good food and decent service but I did come on a holiday so timing was expected to be tight. It is located very closely to the train so expect some honking, & rail noises. Overall I loved my stay and I will be returning!!!!
The Morrow is a lovely hotel. Beautifully appointed, luxury feeling. But the special highlight goes to the staff. I fell ill during my stay and was stuck in my room for a day and a half, and the staff were nothing but accommodating and courteous and professional. Front desk, food, housekeeping, everyone was stellar. The only minimal downside is the proximity to the train tracks, so depending on your room you can hear trains at night (but nothing too bad, would not deter me from staying again).
I have had the most wonderful experience staying at The Morrow in Washington, D.C., and I truly want to express my deepest gratitude. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at home. Everyone has been incredibly friendly, professional, and consistently went above and beyond for me during my stay. I especially want to thank Haneef, Bethlehem, Kaseem, and Eleanor. Each of you truly made a difference. Your kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care did not go unnoticed. Because of the exceptional service and warmth you showed me, I decided not to change my hotel stay. It was truly the staff that made all the difference. It is rare to find a place where people treat guests with such sincerity, patience, and heart. I am sincerely grateful for the experience and for the positive energy you all bring every day. Thank you for making my stay so memorable and comforting. I will always remember this experience because of you
Disappointing Stay, Not Up to Hilton Standards As a loyal Hilton guest, I was extremely disappointed with my recent stay at The Morrow DC. I had just stayed at the Conrad DC, which was a flawless 10/10 experience and reinforced my trust in Hilton’s reputation for luxury and comfort. Because The Morrow is a newer property with strong reviews, I expected a comparable experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case. During my stay, I was forced to switch rooms three times. The first room had an overwhelming odor, resembling feet and corn chips. The second room had a broken TV, which was especially frustrating since we planned to watch the game. The third room was finally acceptable, with no odor and a functioning TV, and the hotel provided a $100 credit as compensation. However, the issues continued. We ordered in-room dining to enjoy during the game, but the food arrived cold and without the requested condiments or utensils. The bed and pillows felt cheap and uncomfortable, causing us to sweat throughout the night. On top of that, constant noise from the nearby train and the air conditioning unit made it nearly impossible to sleep. This stay was not restful in any way. I left feeling more exhausted than when I arrived, which is the opposite of what I expect from a Hilton property. The glowing reviews of this hotel do not reflect the experience I had, and the quality fell far below Hilton’s usual standards. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses the room quality, noise control, and service issues so future guests do not have a similar experience. As someone who has consistently enjoyed Hilton properties, I was truly disappointed by The Morrow DC and would hesitate to stay here again unless significant improvements are mad
We booked The Morrow through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts expecting a luxury experience, but this stayed firmly in 3-star territory. The most alarming part of our stay was my mother-in-law getting trapped in a vestibule area between her room and the hallway. It took over 30 minutes to free her, finally using a crowbar, while the front desk staff showed zero urgency. Other major issues included: • Billing Errors: We were charged $150 for "oversized vehicle valet" despite not even having a car. They blamed a name mix-up with family, but only removed it after we caught it while reviewing the folio. • Maintenance: Our key cards failed repeatedly; we had to diagnose that the reader was dying before they finally sent engineering. Also, the "wave" accessible front doors don't work, and the shower took longer to heat up in the morning than I would expect in a modern building. • Cleanliness: Sink and shower drains were dirty upon arrival. • Noise: Right next to the tracks, which is expected for the location! But even for a city hotel, the soundproofing isn’t strong for a "luxury" property. The positives, though! The Le Labo 33 amenities are a nice touch, and the food at the restaurant was actually great (highly recommend the buffalo chicken nuggets). However, the service at the restaurant was slow. Also something that really rubbed me wrong was receiving a text from their mgmt number that promised a follow-up call never actually called. Friendly staff, but especially the evening/night staff had seemingly little desire to actually solve problems.
I had an extremely disappointing stay at this hotel. Not only was the room in poor condition, but I was also wrongfully charged after checkout. The bed was messed up and the pillow was damaged, yet instead of taking responsibility for the condition of their room, the hotel charged my card without proper explanation. I feel like I was taken advantage of. The room was not up to standard, customer service was unhelpful, and there was no effort to resolve the issue fairly. Charging guests for damaged items without clear proof or communication is unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save your money and stay somewhere that treats guests with honesty and respect. This situation has been extremely frustrating and unacceptable. In addition to the unresolved room issues, a staff member spoke to me in a disrespectful and insulting manner, which I find completely unprofessional. Since checkout, I have been placed in repeated phone tag, have not received any clear explanation for the unauthorized charge of $363.45, and the issue remains unresolved. At this point, it feels as though my concerns are being ignored and my money has been taken without justification.
