This hotel wad phenomenal. The location is perfect, right next door to the capitol offices and the library of congress. There is plenty of restaurants and sites within walking distance so you dont need to deal with taxis. The rooms were really very nice, the staff was so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was full of variety and quantity.

The service is great and I have stayed here many times and have loved it. However my biggest complaint is the rooms are not kept in the best condition. Primarily the fact that the doors do not close well closet, bathroom, and main door. The door have so many layers a paint on them that they are too big for the door frame

We recently had our wedding here in DC at the Church across the street from this hotel. We all stayed here and I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel enough. All of the staff that I interacted with went out of their way to make our stay as seamless as possible, from room upgrades to digging people's cars out of the snow after the snow storm, the service was impeccable. Rooms were spacious, clean, and the location is ideal for downtown.

Just booked 3 nights in April 2026 and off to a great start thanks to Norman and Tiana who were most helpful in getting my reservations done and exactly what I needed! Kudos to them on great customer service and looking forward to updating my review on rooms, etc after April's stay!

The location is so accessible to go to any of the attractions, different restaurants, buses stops(D10,D1X), the custom services is very professional, Mr. Bini is very kind and helpful! The breakfast is included which is amazing! They also offer 5 bikes to the clients. But if the type of food has more options, it would be perfect to stay in this hotel during your stay in DC.

Location! Location! Location! This hotel is convenient to so many of the sites in DC. We loved the doorman and the 24/7 coffee and infused water. Unfortunately, the hotel is tired and could definitely use a refresh. One of the rooms rented by a member of my party had a distinctive foul odor. They were able to change the room but they were placed next door and the odor was still pervasive. My room was a sweet which was plenty spacious . There is no on-site bar or restaurant here although they do provide vouchers for breakfast at a little spot down the street.

Pros: great location, nice rooms Cons: shower did not get warm one night, very minimal selection of snacks/drinks in lobby, no grocery that close, breakfast was not available at the time we stayed there, we were not informed until we asked, and then we were given a voucher to a poorly rated nearby restaurant. Upon check in we were not given any information at all, including wifi password or amenities offered. The tv is very basic cable without a guide. These are simple things that they could offer to enhance the guest experience, I wouldn’t stay here again. However, the location was perfect for visiting the dc sites.

Stayed with family, room was very spacious with separate kitchen & walk in robe. very happy with the room & amenities. Great location within walking distance to attractions like capitol hill & museum. Free breakfast provided but staff sometime struggle to replenish food items on busy mornings Definitely will choose to stay again

We really enjoyed our stay! All staff were pleasant and helpful. Even when my husband needed a bandaid, the lady at the front desk graciously provided a few. The lobby often has an employee open the door for you as you enter and exit. We enjoyed the cucumber mint water in the lobby along with very hot coffee. Be careful...it is extremely hot! ? Our room was clean and comfortable. I appreciate how cozy the room was even offering a bath robe to wear. That is something that isn't available at many places these days. Breakfast was always yummy and the staff working Breakfast were also very nice and helpful even when it was very busy. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the DC area. There are many great restaurants near by as well.

I stayed at The Capitol Hotel during a business trip, and it was a fantastic experience! The room was comfortable and spacious, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I truly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area
