Marriott hotels in general are very good with great service and comfort. But this might let us down a little. Probably it’s the timing we stayed. We just stayed for a night and there were a lot of renovations going on. The staff did mention about it though, but unfortunately the hallways were chaotic with wallpaper dust and half of them hanging out. And most inconvenient were the elevators. Only 1 of them worked and a lot of people had to wait for 15-20 mins just to get into it. Also the guest registration desk is not in the ground floor, there is a desk though, we waited a few mins and realized that there is a small plaque that says to go upstairs. So make sure to read that. Staff are very friendly, but they take their time in processing. So be sure to have loads of patience. Breakfast is not a buffet. We get to choose only one item out of a few options and no refills for coffee. Thats a bummer. We get to store our luggage for a few hours in the hotel in ground floor. So if you check out and want to explore DC without luggage be sure to check at the reception desk about that. The location is great though, it’s right next to NoMa metro, great places to eat and shop if we look past most of the things.

I’m going to give a good and detailed review of this hotel. Me and my boyfriend booked this hotel last minute for Otakon “convention we went to this weekend if anyone was wondering why everyone was in costumes and what not lol” so usually we book our hotel early but this was LAST MINUTE so this never happens but oh well. NOW I was skeptical about this hotel at first based on the reviews and stuff so and I did read other reviews of people thoughts on the hotel but in my opinion I mean a hotel is a hotel so yeah. Me and my boyfriend didn’t have any issues with booking, I was given back all my money by the time we checked out, rooms were cleaned daily had no issues with air conditioning, water, none of that and there were no power outages tv was fully functional. Room was clean everything was cool I just wish there was breakfast included but other than that I have no issues or complaints. I would recommend this hotel if it’s last resort or last minute but other than that that’s all. Also good thing is there’s food places like five guys, dominoes, & subway nearby. and we weren’t near the train station we were really just near the food places. Also for people saying the place is like the hood Washington DC is like a mix bag so it’s really not that bad people aren’t really phase by the homeless people so yeah.

My sister, my niece, and I recently visited DC and chose this hotel as our place to stay during our visit. We were there July 16th-20th. Unfortunately during our stay I had a personal item stolen from my luggage by housekeeping. On the Friday, July 17th, my family and I left the hotel to get breakfast. During that time period our room was entered for “cleaning” by the housekeeping staff. Only one bed was made in a double occupancy room, there was no additional bathroom necessities added (no toilet paper). My bed was not made however my things were gone through and my portable fan was missing. When I reported it to the front desk I was assured that I would receive a call from the Assistant General Manager regarding my missing item and that a report would be pulled to find out who the housekeeper was that was assigned to “clean” our room. As of today July 31st I still have not heard from anyone in management. I find that quite disappointing. For me it’s quite disheartening to feel like management is okay with having their guests be violated by a staff member that is comfortable with stealing from the guests. I’m rating my stay 3 stars because I do feel like the front desk receptionist did what he could to help and I also was pleased with the location of the hotel. Outside of that nothing more. Management should be more attentive to theft reports and ensure better communication. I would still recommend the hotel based on location alone but would advise guests to protect personal items or request for housekeeping to not enter their room while gone.

I’ve stayed in many different Marriott properties and this was easily the worst experience. All staff I interacted with at the front desk and the bistro were unhelpful and sometimes rude / passive aggressive. The toilet flush in my room was not working properly and their engineer looked at it and decided it was working fine leaving it to us to figure out how to get it work - which is unacceptable for a so called “3 star” hotel. The room was unmaintained and furniture showed wear. The location of the hotel itself is not great. There’s a train station right next to the hotel and there is no noise insulation so you can hear the trains from the room. The food at the bistro is average at best and highly overpriced. They didn’t have basic amenities like a dental kit. Would not recommend.

The hotel was amazing the staff was very friendly but Mo the mixologist really took care of me. He ensured eveything was up to par especially my drink after a long day in court he really took special care of me. The food, the coffee eveything he always everything was great. i highly recommed that every guest should stop by Mo's bar on the lounge floor he make the best old fashion in the DC. He know how to just make you feel like family. Not only him interacting with all the employees they are just so happy and friendly its just amazing says alot about the management as well.

I recently stayed at this location for a work trip and had a very impressive experience. The front desk staff were kind, and the hotel was very clean. Rooms were more spacious than I expected; overall, positive experience. Our favorite part by far was having dinner at the Bistro with Mo! He had such great energy and made us laugh, and clearly everyone else there also appreciated him, as evidenced by the many regulars who knew his name and hung out at the bar. I cannot speak highly enough for the exceptional service Mo provided, and I hope he gets the kudos he much deserves.

Had a nice stay. Very convenient to the Metro. Overlooks the tracks going into Union Station. The windows are pretty soundproof but very light sleepers might be awakened by the trains going by. Would stay again.

Room smells like smoke even when confirmed it’s non smoking. You can hear everything. Train is loud if you’re located on an odd number side of building. Wouldn’t recommend not even for quick weekend trip for just showering and sleeping. Staff are all friendly and nice and understood my concerns and why I wanted to cancel. Location is close to Union market with quick food and convenience stores near by.

I came to DC for an important test, so I really appreciated having such a clean and comfortable room. The staff was wonderful, and everyone provided great service. A special thank you to MONAEM, the bartender. He was very attentive and delivered exceptional service. He truly made my stay even better.

My First Time At The Capitol And I Must Say This Experience Was Ratchet As Hell. I Heard The Reputation Of This Area Was Upscale And Boujee I’m Trying To Understand Where That Was Because This Was Not It At All. Upon Check In We Were Not Told That There Was Not Any Hot Water In The WHOLE BUILDING. I Have Never In My Life Stayed In A Hotel With Zero Access To Hot Water. I Had An Early Leave Due To A Flight So Literally My Whole Stay Was Hot Water Free. They Didn’t Offer Anything Not Even A Sorry For The Inconvenience. Never Again And Will Never Recommend. How This Is Affiliated With Marriott I Have No Idea. Genuinely Disgusted.
