Motto by Hilton Washington DC City Center is a compact, modern hotel offering a convenient and budget-friendly stay in the heart of the city. While rooms are small, guests consistently highlight cleanliness, location, and friendly staff. However, noise and limited space are recurring concerns.

Motto by Hilton is a great choice in a town full of places to stay! It is a micro-hotel but my small room was clean, crisp, and modern, perfect for a stay of a few days. A big plus are the culinary options--great burger!--on site. At a time when a lot of hotels are using pre-fab egg discs and microwaves for breakfast, when you stay at Motto, you get a freshly and expertly prepared breakfast. Special kudos for the staff. Friendly and competent, they rose to occasion when I had a family emergency and had to depart a day early. Many thanks for their gracious understanding. I'll be back!

This is one of the best experiences I’ve had in the Hilton group in terms of employee interaction. The front desk people are efficient and personable. The whole staff is amazing and I’ve been fortunate to have Aiman take care of me on my recent visits. The service here is parallel to a five star experience. This location is close to capital one Arena and Union Station. Well also being within walking distance of the White House, Capitol building, and Washington Monument. The rooms are exceptionally clean, well appointed and the staff uplifting. I’m so glad I’ve been able to spend my time here as opposed to farther away on the outskirts. Great lobby and restaurant for work I Or socializing, even the basement has an enjoyable eating experience

The room is small and you can hear a lot of what your neighbors are doing, as others have stated. However, it's very clean, all the amenities you need for a quick visit to DC, perhaps at nearby conference center. The staff are nice, and efficient. Ear plugs and white noise machines are provided. Location is convenient. Hair dryer, and shampoo/ conditioner/ lotion are provided. Great meeting spaces around the hotel and good food/ drink choices at the in house Crimson bar. The hotel is secure in the evenings. The parking garage they have an agreement with is a bit confusing. Use the elevators by the Haagen Dazs shop in nearby Gallery place to access.

Perfect place to stay when coming up for a hockey game. The rooms definitely fit the micro hotel name. No fridge, microwave or coffee pot. No dresser so be prepared to love from your suitcase. There was room under the bed for our carry ons. It doesnt have a real bathroom door. There is a sliding opaque door that blocks out zero sounds and therefore all hints of privacy. The bed was comfortable though. Front desk staff was great, very friendly and helpful

I'll start by stating to understand what you are getting. The room is barely big enough for the bed. After that, this is NOT a "no frills" place. We ate at the restaurant and had drinks at the bar, very nice. Staff was great. Location perfect to watch a Caps game. For a couple, you need to enjoy being close!

Motto by Hilton in Washington, DC is a clean, modern, tiny hotel, perfect if you’re traveling light and just need a comfortable place for two people. The room is small but well designed and good enough for a short stay. There’s no on-site parking, but that wasn’t a problem at all. We parked at the Gallery Place garage less than a block away for $27.99. Just be sure to use the link on the Motto hotel website to get complimentary in and out privileges, which was super convenient. Overall, a solid option if you want a clean place in a great location and don’t mind compact rooms.

We stayed at Motto for 2 nights. One layover at the beginning of out trip and another layover at the end. The rooms small size are great for a quick overnight stay. Our first room was impressive. It had a great layout and each bunk had its own small tv. The beds are very comfortable. I love a soft matress I did get woken up by people returning to their room from a night out. The sound got in really bad. On the second night, the layout of the room was much less convenient. The second room left a very small space between the bed and the door to get into the bathroom. There is definitely a varying quality/cleverness of the layout of the rooms. Overall I'd say it was a good place to stay.

I stayed there for 3 nights in late November. The location is great. You could either walk to or take the metro to major sites. The room was spacious for me because I was alone and just had a carry on. It was well maintained and cleaned too. The service was nice. People at the reception were very helpful. I requested an iron before my arrival and it was already in my room when I got there. The main problem for me however was the noise. Even though my room was not facing the street I couldn’t sleep the first night because of the sirens. They must find a solution to make the rooms & windows soundproof. Another minor problem is where they keep your luggage and belongings. It is a small room. I gave them my carryon and suit. They put my jacket next to the wall which got dust on it. Thankfully, it was easy to dust it off. Overall, I was happy with my stay particularly taking the price into consideration.

I’m a Hilton loyalist, but I didn’t ever stay here in DC because I thought there must be a catch if the price was always so much lower than the other hotels. I finally gave in and it’s now my go to when it’s just me for work. The rooms are small, but if you’re solo it’s perfection. If you’re a couple who is just here to sleep and don’t mind the queen bed, give it a go. If you’ve ever lived in NYC you might actually think it’s spacious. The beds are very comfy, everything is so clean, the bathrooms are small but high end. I also love that they have steamers instead of irons for clothes. The little closet with hangers and coat hooks charm me. Efficient layout that’s thoughtful. I only regret not staying here sooner.

Amazing micro motel. This was my first time ever staying in a hotel of this style, but it was amazing. The room is cute, I got the one bed room with my girlfriend, it is suitable for max 2 people and a couple bags. Bathroom could use a bit more sound privacy there is a large gap on either side of the sliding door but it’s ok ! No ice machines however there is water refill stations on each floor. Hotel is close to capital one arena, excellent restaurants, not far from the monument. Parking is ok. Room walls seem thin to the outside, everything can be heard.
