The Hamilton Hotel consistently receives positive feedback, particularly regarding its excellent location near key DC attractions and consistently friendly, attentive staff. Recent reviews highlight exceptional service, comfortable rooms, and a welcoming atmosphere, though one guest experienced issues with room layout.
Exceptionally clean hotel with such a warm and welcoming team! The staff was incredibly friendly and always greeted us whenever we passed by. Our blanket arrived within just 3 minutes of requesting it—talk about great service! Our server at Via was amazing and gave us wonderful recommendations for places to visit, along with helpful tips that made our stay even better. We truly enjoyed our experience and can’t wait to return! ????
Worst hotel ever. I booked and paid in advance a double bed bedroom for July 4th; when I arrived to the room (because I was never told at the front desk) I discovered that my room only had one bed and a sofa. When I asked for a room change I was told that was it and no changes were able. So basically I paid for a 4 star hotel to get a hostel treatment and sleep on a sofa instead of a bed because there were no beds enough for my party. Better go to another hotel; also the treatment I received was so unpolite, the made me feel like I was asking for charity instead of asking for what I paid. Hotel prices: 4 star hotel. Hotel treatment and rooms: Hostel. From your response, it is clear that you did not even bother to read my complaint. Since you failed to provide any solution, I had to contact Booking, as the reservation was made through their platform, and request a refund for the night I paid to sleep in a bed but was instead made to sleep on a sofa. I did not receive any compensation for the inconvenience caused. The only thing you did was refund me for a service I paid for but never received, which is the absolute minimum you should have done. The only thing missing would have been for me to pay for a hotel room, end up sleeping on a sofa, and lose my money as well. That would have been nothing short of scamming a customer, and I do not consider that an acceptable way to treat your guests.
The Hamilton Hotel is an excellent place to stay if you want to explore Washington, D.C. It’s located just a few blocks from the White House, making it a convenient base for sightseeing. There is also a Starbucks nearby along with several restaurants that are all within an easy walking distance. As the author of The Grant Colson Thriller Series novels, I travel extensively researching the real archaeological sites, museums, memorials, and historic locations that inspire my novels. A centrally located hotel like the Hamilton makes it easy to spend long days exploring the National Mall and the city’s many historic landmarks before returning to a comfortable place to relax. The National Mall is about a 20-minute walk from the hotel, which was very manageable for us. During the summer heat, it was especially nice to return to a cool, comfortably air-conditioned lobby and room after spending hours outdoors. The lobby is attractive and makes a pleasant place to relax for a while. There is also an attached restaurant with prices that are about what you would expect from a downtown hotel restaurant. As the author of the Maui Desire Romance Series novels, I also travel in search of memorable destinations that inspire the romantic settings in my novels. The walkable neighborhood, historic architecture, and easy access to Washington’s landmarks make this area an enjoyable place to stay. Our room was comfortable, clean, and professionally maintained. The staff throughout our stay were courteous, friendly, and professional. Overall, I would happily stay at the Hamilton Hotel again. Its excellent location, comfortable accommodations, and professional staff make it a great choice for visiting Washington, D.C.
Stayed at the Hamilton for a business meeting. We arrived very early and the first thing I noticed was how amazing the hotel smelled!! Despite our arriving we'll before check in, we were accommodated without hesitation. The room was comfortable and clean. Conveniently located on K street near many DC attractions. Highly recommend.
I had a great stay here for business. I slept so well. The bed was super comfortable and the pillows dreamy. Housekeeping came every day (which is unheard of anymore). It was lovely!
From the moment we made our reservation to the moment we checked out, the service at the Hamilton Hotel was absolutely outstanding. Before we even arrived, we needed to add an additional adult to our reservation. The process was seamless, quick, and completely hassle-free. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and checked in efficiently—and even earlier than expected, which was a wonderful surprise. The hospitality truly stood out. The bellman went above and beyond by helping my mother-in-law with directions to the White House. Not only did he provide a map, but he also carefully explained how to navigate the nearby construction, making it much easier for her to explore the city. Once we settled into our room, we requested an extra bathrobe and additional towels for our son so he could enjoy the same luxurious amenities. Both were delivered almost immediately. The room itself was spotless, cozy, and incredibly comfortable. The bed and linens were top-notch, making for some of the best sleep we've had while traveling. The location couldn't have been better—close to everything we wanted to see and do in Washington, DC. On our final day, the hotel graciously held our luggage for the entire day after checkout, allowing us to enjoy the city without having to drag bags around. It was the perfect ending to a fantastic stay. Every interaction we had with the staff was positive. They were friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our visit special. Amazing staff, beautiful accommodations, and exceptional service from start to finish. We would absolutely stay here again. 1000/10!
I recently stayed at this hotel for several days and can honestly say it was one of the most genuinely welcoming and memorable hotel experiences I have ever had. I travel frequently and have stayed in many highly rated hotels around the world, but what truly sets this place apart is the people. Every member of staff I encountered was warm, professional, patient, and genuinely kind. From the moment I arrived, I felt looked after and completely at ease. The hotel itself is in an excellent location for exploring Washington DC, and while there may be newer or more luxurious hotels in the city, very few could match the level of service and care provided here. The staff consistently went above and beyond to help with recommendations, directions, questions, and anything else needed during the stay. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. A special mention must go to Mikiyah, Zeira, and Manny, who were absolutely exceptional throughout my visit. Their friendliness, professionalism, and genuine compassion made a lasting impression and turned what could have been an ordinary hotel stay into something truly special. What stood out most was how personal the service felt. Simple things like being greeted warmly each day and staff taking the time to make sure guests were comfortable created an atmosphere that felt far more welcoming than many luxury hotels I have stayed in. If you value genuine hospitality, caring staff, and a hotel that makes you feel truly welcome, I would not hesitate to recommend staying here. I am incredibly grateful for the experience and would happily return.
Stayed at the Hamilton Hotel for a last minute night out back in December and really enjoyed the stay overall. The hotel itself is very nice, in a great location, and easy to get in and out of whether you’re exploring DC or just staying local for the evening. Staff were welcoming and friendly from check in through check out, which always makes a difference. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable. I’d give the beds about a 3.5/5 for comfort, but still definitely good enough for a solid night’s sleep. The one thing that was both very nice and a little odd was the bathroom layout. The bathroom door only opened about 60% of the way before hitting the toilet, which was a bit awkward. That said, the bathroom also had an AMAZING view of the city, which honestly made up for it. Overall, really enjoyed the stay and definitely planning on coming back again soon.
