Reviewers consistently praise this hotel for its unbeatable location along the DC waterfront, stunning river views, and impeccable service efficiency. While general cleanliness and hospitality are widely rated as excellent, current guests should be aware that key amenities like the restaurant, spa, and rooftop bar are currently closed.
The Intercontinental is the best hotel in DC by far! The bartenders Oscar, Jeremiah, and Edgar at the lobby restaurant are absolutely amazing and always take good care of of us. Every time I come here I valet my car as well, Aziz makes sure the process is smooth and quick! Could not recommend staying here and eating at the restaurant more!!!
Last Friday my boyfriend were taking a walk down the walrf and stumbled into the intercontinental. We walked in and saw the bar and they were having happy hour. We sat and had a bite to eat and my boyfriend had a few drinks. Edgar saw that I wasn't drinking any alcoholic and made me a few mocktails which were delicious. Oscar whom they said was the barback was very much on point on top of everything very attentive and warm. Thats without saying he was very funny. The next time visit the warft we definitely will be stopping by to say hi to our new friends. Last Friday my boyfriend were taking a walk down the walrf and stumbled into the intercontinental. My husband surprised me with a weekend stay during Valentine’s at the Intercontinental Hotel and it was exceptional from the moment we arrived to the last day. The room was perfect with a gorgeous view. The hospitality was outstanding. Special mention to Aziz who went above and beyond in welcoming us along with Bakari. Sipan at the WillowSong was very friendly and attentive with excellent service. Jackie and Selburn very nice. Carlos Figueroa da Silva played the cello beautifully, loved it. Lastly, I want to thank Melissa at the bar for surprising me with an impromptu custom espresso martini requested by my husband. It was amazing! It was a wonderful experience!
I recently celebrated a bachelorette at the Intercontinental in the Knot Suite and had a wonderful experience. The service was flawless, and our room was beautiful. Special thanks to Lavonne, who went out of her way to make our weekend memorable. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and professionalism truly made a difference. I also want to thank Tyler, who provided excellent customer service and professionalism. Although I haven't stayed at the other Wharf hotels, considering the price, amenities, and service, I believe this one is the best option. I highly recommend it and will definitely return for future visits to the Wharf.
The location is perfect, by the side of the wharf, has the best view and convenience to the capitol an so on. Room is spacious and well decorated. All services that we encountered is great! (Tbh, the best we had throughout our trip here in the US) Very good hotel, highly recommend!!
My husband and I plus another couple stayed at this location on New Years Eve and had the best experience. We had tickets to a show at The Anthem and couldn't have had a better stay. Lots of restaurants right there on the waterfront and a short walk to the venue. The staff at the hotel were so accommodating, especially the concierge Khan, and the rooms were spacious, clean and modern. I did deduct 1 star from the room rating because I personally felt like the bed was too firm for me and I had to use pillows to get comfortable but that was a personal preference. We look forward to staying here again in the Spring and highly recommend this hotel to others!
We had a wonderful stay at the InterContinental Washington D.C. – The Wharf. The location is unbeatable—right on the Wharf, with beautiful waterfront views, great walkability, and easy access to restaurants, attractions, and public transportation. The hotel itself is modern, clean, and very well maintained. The rooms were comfortable and thoughtfully designed, which made traveling with young children much easier and more relaxing. Breakfast was a highlight of our stay. Sleburn, our waiter, truly went above and beyond. He was attentive, warm, and genuinely kind, making sure we were well taken care of and that our family felt welcome. His service set a great tone for the day and really stood out. Overall, the staff was professional, friendly, and accommodating throughout our stay. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Washington, D.C.—especially families looking for comfort, great service, and an excellent location.
From the moment I arrived, the experience was exceptional. The valet and hotel staff were incredibly helpful, assisting with my bags and ensuring everything was taken to my room seamlessly. Check-in was quick and easy, and every staff member I encountered was warm, professional, and welcoming. My room was spotless, beautifully maintained, and I was pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a room featuring a Juliette balcony. The views of The Wharf and the DMV area were absolutely breathtaking—perfect for relaxing and taking it all in. The hotel’s location is unbeatable, with walking distance access to some amazing restaurants and attractions along The Wharf. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations in every way. This was truly a five-star experience, and I would absolutely stay here again.
My stay at InterContinental Washington D.C. – The Wharf was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed, and I was even offered an upgrade which made the experience even more special. The food was absolutely delicious, with every meal exceeding expectations. The staff were consistently respectful, attentive, and professional, making me feel valued throughout my stay. The hotel itself is spotless — everything from the lobby to the rooms was super clean and well-maintained. Overall, it was a perfect combination of comfort, hospitality, and luxury. ?
This stay was absolutely amazing. The rooms were spectacular. The rooms were clean, had an amazing view and the ends were comfortable. We were greeted with such joy and attentiveness each day from the front door workers such as Ahzi. Everything we asked for whether it was a microwave for the room or a small fridge was quickly sent to us. The daily hot apple cider was delicious. Everyone was so kind and attentive, there is absolutely nothing that was less than a 10/10. Book this hotel for your next stay.
