The Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill consistently receives high marks for its attentive staff, clean rooms, and convenient location near major attractions. Guests frequently praise the hotel’s well-maintained facilities, including a modern gym and a refreshing pool. While some experiences highlight occasional service hiccups, the overall impression is one of a well-managed and welcoming hotel.
????? As folks from small town Missouri, we know genuine hospitality when we see it, and the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill absolutely delivered. The rooms were spotless, the pool was clean, the restaurant was excellent, and the entire property was well maintained. After returning around 1:00 a.m. from the America 250 Freedom fireworks celebration, the staff was waiting in the lobby with fresh cookies and cold bottled water for every guest. During the heat wave, they always made sure bottled water was available, and every employee greeted us with a smile. This was our first trip to Washington, D.C., and they made us feel right at home. Great location, wonderful people, and outstanding service.
Excellent on all fronts! Highly recommend. Location, rooms, food and service, including valet, have been excellent. We were treated with dignity and respect from the get. This is something one might expect but unfortunately it has become uncommon in hotels. I’ll stay here every time I’m in DC from now on!
Nice spacious rooms for a downtown property. The staff is amazing. Amz checked me in. I spoke to him a few days before checking in because my company was booking the rooms for the Giant Barbecue Battle. There was a hiccup on my company's part but he made the process painless and much faster. Giant had a reception and the space as well as the food were great. All of the staff were super nice and inviting. And lastly you have a great view of the Capitol from outside of the entrance. I highly recommend staying here if you are in DC or need a hotel as a hosting spot for an event. Also has a great workout room and a nice pool.
So this place is the best hotel I have stayed at in quite some time. The staff is knowledgeable, quiet, courteous, and friendly it was a breathtaking experience. Being down the block from the capitol is pretty cool to see. I was the photographer for a hotel internal function and the staff (not knowing who I was working for) treated me with the utmost care and respect. Every interaction was pro top tier. Halls were quiet and clean. Rooms were modern, clean and well appointed.
This is an excellent hotel with a real shoe shine guy! Love that. He’s great. I was wearing sneakers but loved what I saw of his work. Clean. Well managed. Easy to navigate. Perfect for DC and the types of groups and events that take place there. Real wisdom in design and well managed execution with a clear focus on cleanliness.
Rooms were updated and clean. The lobby is beautiful. Service at the front desk was good, but we did have some issues with booking and sorting out business and personal stays and different credit cards for different nights, but it did get sorted out. The location is a 10 minute walk from union station and also the capitol buildings. Pool area was nice. Beds were comfortable.
Expensive!!!!! Bottle of smart water is 10.50. Small bag of pretzels is 10.00. Restaurant is very expensive. Parking is 60.00 a day. Stayed 3 nights was 800.00 add parking is another 180.00. Rooms are SUPER SMALL but nice. Staff acts like they are better than you if your not in a suit. I will not stay here again.
The guest rooms, lobby, and ballrooms have all been recently redone and everything looks top notch. The lobby restaurant also serves great food. Walking distance to so many iconic places. I can't recommend this hotel enough!
Coming in from Boston after the big blizzard of 2026, I walked in to the hotel with my shoes all beat up. Can't go to the hill with shabby shoes! But Dino saved me. In the lobby by the gift shop, he took his 47 years of experience and brought my shoes back from the brink. Not only that, but he let me know all the places to go, is friendly and just a good man. I'll stay there again just to see him again! The rooms are great and the staff are friendly and competent. Nice location to the hill, and a safe place to walk around. Go stay there, and tell Dino Dave from Job Corps sent you. Tip well.
Modern makeover since the last time I came! Rooms were upgraded and comfortable with very comfortable glass shower and premium shower heads. Great location for an easy walk to senate buildings and supreme court. Congressional buildings just on the other side of the Capital building. Convenient spot for anyone visiting the capital.
