The Washington Marriott Georgetown offers a convenient location near major attractions and Metro lines in Washington, D.C., with generally positive guest feedback. While praised for its staff service and comfortable rooms, some recent reviews have highlighted issues with housekeeping consistency and parking rates. Overall, it’s a solid choice for a stay in the city, though recent experiences have been somewhat inconsistent.
This was an excellent hotel for our trip to Washington, DC. It is a 5-minute walk to Washington Circle, and a 10-minute walk to Foggy Bottom Metro stop. Very convenient for sightseeing in our nation’s capital. The Metro ride to all of the main sights is 15-minutes. There are also plenty of restaurants near the hotel for dining. The hotel room was updated and spacious, the breakfast very good, and staff helpful. The neighborhood is safe and picturesque – a few embassies are nearby. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Washington DC.
For two days of our five-day stay at Washington Marriott Georgetown, June 3-7, we had no room cleaning service, despite repeated requests. On the first day, we asked the front desk two times, and directly spoke with a housekeepimg manager once. At the manager's request, we cited a specific time for the next day service. 10a. We left at 9a., and gave them a three-hour window. At 12:01p, we returned. Nothing. Unless one counts the bevy of excuses offered by the front desk. As longtime Hilton Honors guest, we expect more professionalism. Henceforth, it is to state the obvious that we will not be patronizing this hotel in the future. Dr. Phyllis P. Elmore
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Kudos to Juan for making my statement relaxing and memorable from start to finish. Rooms: Very spacious and designed to enjoy compartmentalizing the room and bathroom. Bathroom nicely designed and easy to maneuver if you have physical limitations. Housekeeping was VERY attentive and timely. Service: Excellent treatment for guests and visitors. I enjoyed a couple of meals in the bar area and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and efficient Location: Perfect for walking around DuPont Circle, riding Metro (10-15 minute easy walk to either Blue or Red line trains), accessible to anywhere in the DMV area and airports using ride share or a rental car Juan and Team - thank you again for an amazing stay!
The hotel has a fantastic location, close to all the main attractions and places worth visiting. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff were also very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The parking was incredibly expensive around $70 per night. Unfortunately, the staff at the lobby told us that all nearby parking garages had similar prices, so we believed them and parked at the hotel for the first night. However, you can easily find parking options within a 10 minutes walk from the hotel for around $15–20 per night. Don’t fall into the hotel’s parking trap.
We stayed at this hotel with our two young kids. The staff in the lobby were so kind and helpful. The lady who checked us in gave us free hop on and off bus tickets, and vouchers to use at the restaurant/bar in the lobby neither of which we asked for. Another stand out gesture: We had scooters delivered for our kids to give their legs a break and of course the scooter came with insufficient tools for assembly. The staff paged the engineer who came to help within 5 minutes and wouldn’t even take tip money. The staff made our stay very enjoyable and we would 100% return. Also the lobby area is beautiful and welcoming.
Does not honor individual Bonvoy status if your company books the room for you. Stay elsewhere that actually cares about your business if possible. Also the have a bunch of kids standing around in the Lobby wearing "Marriott Hotel Special Police" jackets in order to make you feel safe. Lol!
Stayed at the hotel after the big snow of 2026. Check-in was smooth Ginger Angel was fantastic. Her smile and calm demeanor easily put a tired traveler at ease. The room was clean and comfortable. The lounge was well stocked.
Stayed here for 1 night for business - solid Marriott but certainly not the nicest Marriott I've stayed in. Didn't really have a Marriott feel, maybe a bit closer to a courtyard feel. Overall rooms/hallways/building felt it was getting just a bit dated, but rooms were clean and nice enough. Shower had lower water pressure, towels were just okay (a bit scratchy but not terrible), and bed/pillows were fine. I have Gold status and was put in a room on the 5th floor with absolutely no view - I should have asked for a higher floor with a view but it's in my profile. If you have a preference I would be sure to ask when you check in as some rooms are just looking at a roof out the window. Breakfast quality was average for these types of properties, but service was excellent I had a veggie omelet within 10 minutes of entering the restaurant. Coffee was also particularly good, unexpectedly so for coffee served with breakfast which isn't usually very good. Also not sure about the area but there was a fair bit of yelling on the street at like 11pm-12am. Could have been a one off. Overall this is an okay hotel. Just fine.
Not sure what their eggs are made of, but they don’t taste like normal eggs—even the woman who prepared them admitted they’re strange, they pour them from a bag. To be fair, they look and taste the same as “eggs” at residence Inn in Fairfield Inn. We have been loyal Marriott customers for years, and I don’t understand why so many of their hotels have frosted glass in their bathroom doors. It’s not like it really does anything for style because, at least in most of the rooms, the doorway opens into a hallway. All I know is when you’re sharing the room with somebody and they need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, it lights up the entire room when they close the door and turn the bathroom lights on. Pretty bad design unless you’re staying by yourself. Also Marriott feels like they’re being penny-wise and pound-foolish by charging the elite members in their M club lounge happy hour for a glass of wine or domestic unimaginative beer. I know when we’ve stayed at Hyatt properties. Hyatt, at least at the properties where we’ve stayed, treated their elites with a little more deference. The staff were nice, the facilities were fairly clean and well kempt, and it’s a perfectly fine place to stay. Just don’t expect to be blown away. Also be sure your staff are properly trained, or adequately supervised, when they are checking in people to the hotel. Our guy was clearly new and extremely nice, but he didn’t know a lot about the elite benefits, and of course we didn’t know what the hotel offered either.
3 stars is a passing grade. The hotel is the stereotype of a basic "nice" hotel. It's like a PB&J sandwich with sugar free peanut butter and jelly. Not terrible, not great. BUT, to be clear, I did not enjoy my stay. There was a lingering noise that came from the AC unit. I was initially moved to another room, a downgrade, but the noise was only quiter. Not eliminated. Something wrong with the system. That's specific to my experience. Overall, the hotel was, fine. Nothing special but nothing too horrendous. The experience is what I'd expect from a basic Marriott--good enough not to complain but not good enough to cheer. Location was good.
