The Hyatt Place Washington DC/National Mall offers a convenient location for exploring the National Mall and surrounding museums, with generally positive feedback on its cleanliness and friendly staff. While some guests appreciate the spacious rooms and complimentary breakfast, others have noted concerns regarding inconsistent water pressure, food quality, and potential noise from the nearby fire station. Recent reviews highlight both exceptional service and occasional operational issues.
Great stay at this hotel with my 4-year-old! The location was perfect, walkable distance to the Smithsonian and other museums, which made sightseeing so easy with a little one! The pool was a huge hit with my daughter, and the breakfast was great too. They also let us store our luggage after checkout so we could keep sightseeing, which was super convenient. One small downside: the shower water pressure was inconsistent - low pressure for warm water, but cranking it up to high pressure made it really hot. Just something to be aware of. Overall though, we'd definitely stay here again!
I haven't had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Place Washington DC/National Mall yet, but I'm already looking forward to a future visit. My friend and I had to cancel our upcoming stay due to unforeseen circumstances, and Assistant General Manager Michael Loyola and his team were incredibly kind, understanding, and helpful in waiving our reservation fees. While I can't speak to the accommodations, I can speak to the service, and it was exceptional. I truly appreciated being treated as a person rather than just another reservation. Their compassion and professionalism left a lasting impression. As soon as we're able to make it back to DC, we'll be excited to stay with them and experience everything the hotel has to offer.
Great spot to stay at if you plan on hitting the Anthem for a show. A bit of a walk, took an Uber back and it wasn’t difficult and didn’t take long nor was crazy surged. TIP: Get a like monthly subscription and it makes them far more affordable. Especially if you’re gonna use them frequently Perfect example of why my wife and I love Hyatt hotels, especially Hyatt Place. They’re all similar and consistent quality wise and this place was no exception. Everyone at the front desk was friendly and personable, very welcoming but also quick to get us into our room since we were travel worn. Online check in is the way to go, I needed to change the card on file so I had to go to the front desk to check in but they made it quick and easy. Room was clean and comfortable. Love the ability to control the a/c in the room and the was able to make it ice cold. It’s a standard Hyatt Place room, nothing fancy, the tv wouldn’t work with the chrome cast which is our only complaint but we rarely watch it anyways. Breakfast was delightful, an array of eggs, different sausages, waffles, bread, muffins and cereals. It’s standard, again nothing crazy fancy but a way to make the morning start convenient and cheap. Coffee was actually really good.
Lovely experience! The location was great; the rooms were clean. But the reason I would come back here again is because of the people who work there. People like Reagan and Nick and the valets for parking went out of their way to give us advice on where to eat and how to get to different places. Their service for ordering cabs was fantastic! They really enhanced our first trip to D.C., and we would love to go back again.
The location was great for attending all of our work events and visiting monuments, Smithsonian’s and other important historical sites. The service was good, most employees were friendly once spoken to, not super engaging otherwise but that’s okay! The room was very lack luster. I was really turned off by the fact that there was not a fitted sheet on the bed only a flat sheet wrapped under the mattress. The water pressure in the shower was non existent, took me foreverrr to be able to rinse my hair out. The carpet seemed like it needed a good cleaning also several random stains and questionable areas. We had high hopes for this location and were left a bit disappointed.
Stayed here for a weekend, 1 king + sofa bed setup. Clean rooms, nice hotel. Complimentary breakfast. I believe there is an extra charge for parking at the hotel’s underground garage. 5-10 minute walk to the wharf and national museum. Not a ton of restaurants in the area but easy access to bus and metros to get where you need to go. The hotel is right next door to a fire station, so there may be some extra sirens here and there, but my group did not find it to be too intrusive. Overall, would recommend!
Stayed here last Saturday on 2/21 for one night, paid almost $300 and the room had bugs. I seen one and my family members seen a couple more but I was not aware of this until the morning of check out. I let the front desk agent know and he said he would make the assistant manager aware and for me to email him and I have but have received no response. The hotel was too nice and pricey for there to have been bugs.
Excellent location for the mall and the museums. We walked to most major attractions, but there is a Metro Stop close by if you prefer to limit foot travel. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was decent. For the price paid, it was a value. I would go back again. Thank you!
Great spot for a family trip to DC during the holiday. Very clean, hot breakfast and a great value. It just so happened to be our wedding anniversary during our stay and Lexus was so great to surprise us when we returned to our room with some delicious cheesecake and champaign. Can't wait to come back!
It was very spacious and perfect for a family of 4. Nice location. The breakfast had a great spread, just kind of bland. The staff working the breakfast were the most attentive and helpful people I have met at any hotel. They helped find a table, picked up our plates, refilled things. It was amazing for a free hotel breakfast. I wish they had parking without a valet, but I understand the limitations.
