The Hyatt Place Washington DC/National Mall offers a convenient location near major attractions and the National Mall, with positive feedback on staff helpfulness and breakfast options. However, some guests have encountered issues with cleanliness, noise (due to proximity to a fire station), and inconsistent service, including pricing and food quality.

Stayed here for a weekend, 1 king + sofa bed setup. Clean rooms, nice hotel. Complimentary breakfast. I believe there is an extra charge for parking at the hotel’s underground garage. 5-10 minute walk to the wharf and national museum. Not a ton of restaurants in the area but easy access to bus and metros to get where you need to go. The hotel is right next door to a fire station, so there may be some extra sirens here and there, but my group did not find it to be too intrusive. Overall, would recommend!

Stayed here last Saturday on 2/21 for one night, paid almost $300 and the room had bugs. I seen one and my family members seen a couple more but I was not aware of this until the morning of check out. I let the front desk agent know and he said he would make the assistant manager aware and for me to email him and I have but have received no response. The hotel was too nice and pricey for there to have been bugs.

Excellent location for the mall and the museums. We walked to most major attractions, but there is a Metro Stop close by if you prefer to limit foot travel. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast was decent. For the price paid, it was a value. I would go back again. Thank you!

Great spot for a family trip to DC during the holiday. Very clean, hot breakfast and a great value. It just so happened to be our wedding anniversary during our stay and Lexus was so great to surprise us when we returned to our room with some delicious cheesecake and champaign. Can't wait to come back!

It was very spacious and perfect for a family of 4. Nice location. The breakfast had a great spread, just kind of bland. The staff working the breakfast were the most attentive and helpful people I have met at any hotel. They helped find a table, picked up our plates, refilled things. It was amazing for a free hotel breakfast. I wish they had parking without a valet, but I understand the limitations.

Great place to stay if you are in town for a couple of days. Breakfast was good and the fears about it being overcrowded were overplayed. Rooms clean and as expected. Reception area comfy and popular. Gym not bad. Location great.

This was one of the best stays I've had at a Hyatt with a family with 2 young children under 10. We booked 5 nights in a 2-queen bed room. Excellent location -- a few blocks to the national mall and multiple metro lines. My kids scootered everywhere and we went to lots of museums. The room was large and clean. The free breakfast had a lot of variety and was a hit daily. My daughter has celiac, and Evelyn and the kitchen team were able to provide excellent gluten-free options every day (not just gluten free but free of all cross-contamination). She went out of her way, even going to the grocery store and buying food online, then preparing it in a dedicated area and storing it separately. This was incredibly helpful but my daughter was thrilled to get a tray full of delicious food every morning. This really made the stay incredible. The staff were also extremely helpful and attentive. The front desk was also very helpful. They assisted with logistics, checkout, and everything else we needed. I can't recommend this hotel enough, we will definitely be staying here again.

The Hyatt Place Washington DC/National Mall was a decent stay overall. The hotel was generally clean and the customer service was good. Check-in went smoothly, though we were accidentally double charged. Fortunately, the staff resolved it quickly and professionally. While the room wasn’t spotless, housekeeping made sure we had fresh towels and had the trash taken out regularly, which we appreciated. A few things to note: snacks and drinks at the front counter are extremely overpriced, so I’d recommend bringing your own, using a grocery delivery app, or grabbing something nearby instead. The free breakfast was decent, but seating is limited and fills up fast during peak times. On the plus side, there’s a McDonald’s within walking distance to the north and two Starbucks locations within half a mile as well. Don’t expect a five-star experience here, but for the location and service, it’s a solid option for a stay in D.C.

The rooms are spacious. Bed was comfortable. The only reason it is a 4 star is the lack of lighting and switches in proper places. Being a Hyatt u get used a certain level of rooms. There were small nits such as missing body lotion. Also given that it was a 4 person room additional comforters should have been available. On the bright side the service was very nice and helpful. Right from the check in to the restaurant. The location is great and for people who like to stroll around this is a perfect location.

TL,DR: Good rooms, terrible food!!! But don’t blame the staff! Before I start this I must make it clear that the staff, especially the valet are very sweet and welcoming and that these issues more so reflect management and upper-level decisions as a whole. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and very well kept. The food, on the other hand, is under-portioned, overpriced, and straight-up tastes bad. Despicable. TWO MAJOR FOOD SINS WERE COMMITTED: 1. The bottled water is provided for the room, the tap water tested metallic but *probably* won’t kill you. 2. Regarding the GODAWFUL burgers, they will NOT COOK IT FOR YOU IN ANY WAY OTHER THAN **WELL DONE.** Medium rare lovers beware! On a minor note. You need to make an account with some third-party app or website to retrieve your car, if you are not tech-savvy watch out!
