Days Inn by Wyndham Washington DC/Connecticut Avenue receives mixed reviews, with some praising its location and reasonable price, while others highlight significant cleanliness and safety concerns. The hotel suffers from outdated facilities, inconsistent service, and multiple reported issues ranging from malfunctioning AC and bugs to security breaches and hidden fees.
The staff was very polite and quick. We were there for a weekend trip. Not badly priced for being there 2 days. The room wasnt bad for what it was worth the AC wasnt working very well and water takes awhile to warm up or cool down. Preparr to bring a cooler with you theres no fridge in the room. Thankfully its close to a metro within walking distance to quickly get to downtown. Had some neat cafes and resturants near by the hotel within walking distance.
My hotel room was old. There was a big crack in the bathroom ceiling, running from the fan to the wall. There was a stain in the bathtub from previous bathmats. There were two 4" round stains on the wall above the TV. Plus, there was no fridge, coffeemaker or microwave. BUT IT WAS ONLY TWO BLOCKS FROM MY CONFERENCE!
My stay was wonderful. Rooms were clean and beautiful. Friendly staff, and a beautiful neighborhood with lots of places to eat and dine. I will certainly be coming back. Thank you Days Inn hotel. God bless. Have a wonderful day! ? ??
This was one of the WORST hotels ive ever stayed in. The only positive thing here was the staff being decent. The rooms are tiny with almost no storage for anything. When we 1st entered it was okay, but upon looking around, our AC unit had pieces broken, we had bugs in our bed, the bed was like a brick, the tub was literally brown and they forgot to rinse out the cleaning product so it was just some cleaner in the tub on top of the grime, and we had to pay to rent a fridge plus we had no microwave. We also were not given the wifi and got stuck in the elevator at one point.
Great location, easy to metro or bus on the red line, room was super clean. It's a great price for a basic hotel in a fantastic location. The service by everyone there was great, especially the ladies at the front desk in the mornings! I came early in the morning and had to check my luggage and change to go straight to a work conference. The ladies at the front were so accommodating and sweet, and I loved chatting with them. If you are looking for a budget friendly (NOT luxury) hotel that's in a great spot and is nice and clean, this is probably the best spot in D.C.
This place is ok. Smelled like weed in the room. Was supposed to be near non smoking rooms. Also a man attempted to come into our room while we were sleeping at around 1 in the morning. Scared me and my sibling half to death. Couldn’t call the front desk from the phone in the room it just kept ringing. Had to call from our personal phones and they would answer. No security was sent to check on us. We’re were fine it was our last night but we do get through it. Other than that room was clean, the house keepers kept the room clean and no other complaints.
We chose this purely for its location to our family members apartment. There was NO coffee service. No cups in rooms. There was an ice bucket and a safe. Funky smell once we got off the elevator. The beds were clean. Housekeeping was very sweet. Building is old.
Before i checked in i was looking at the bad reviews and i was very anxious to be here honestly, but then when i checked in and got into my room i was very happy. Everything was clean and spotless. Service was 10/10, room was 10/10, bed was 10/10, carpet was 10/10, bathroom was 10/10 and it was honestly a good and very very clean room. I rlly recommend this hotel to anybody coming to washington it has a very good location and a very low price. The only thing to watch out for is theres a $25 parking fee but what do you expect with parking in a big city, a lot of parking is expensive. And hotels in big cities usually do that anyways. My advice dont believe the bad reviews in here. book and you will be happy.
(Reviewing for a friend who stayed here but helped them with checking in.) Do not stay here if you are disabled. Rooms are not ADA compliant for "accessible" rooms. Whole hotel smells like cigarettes and urine and is very dark. Front desk staff are useless. They make you call the manager who is never on property, so you don't actually talk to anyone. Don't waste your money here.
DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE A SOLO FEMALE TRAVELER. I did not feel safe here at all. One of the days I was there, the "maintenance man" walked into my room while I was inside. He SAW ME go into the room from the hallway and still went in, knowing I was in there alone!! My "do not disturb" sign was on the handle, and he physically unlocked BOTH locks on the door to come in. I called the manager, and she laughed it off and said he was just trying to install a mini-fridge in the room. If he really wanted to do that, he could've asked when we saw each other in the hallway, instead of coming into my room without my permission. I never requested a fridge, and after thay scary experience, I DEFINITELY would not want that man coming in for that. I had to take my valuables with me every time I left the room because I was afraid of leaving them there after that happened. I was reading the reviews, and this has already happened to other people (dating back to a YEAR ago), so the hotel does not care about this CREEPY MAN working for them. The only reason I chose this place was because it was conveniently close to where I had to be for business. For the price, you don't even get a fridge or a microwave, and the safe doesn't work. Please DO NOT stay here. Your safety is more valuable than the convenience, or saving a few bucks. I am happy I left safely with all my belongings, but I would NEVER stay here again.
