Guests consistently praise the Watermark Hotel for its spacious rooms, prime location near Capital One and transit, and dedicated pet-friendly amenities, while frequently highlighting the quality and variety of the breakfast buffet. However, the stay is occasionally marred by complicated building navigation, inconsistent room cleanliness, and reports of noise disruption.
We’ve stayed here at least four times over the last few years during holidays and visiting family and each time is wonderful. The staff is beyond accommodating, last time we stayed we to cut our reservation short because one of us got sick, and the staff was very understanding and helpful of our situation. And it’s the best place to stay if you have a dog, since they have the outdoor rooftop patio and dog park. The rooms are always so clean and spacious, parking is easy too. Definitely our go to spot when staying in the area.
Great location next to a bustling area in capital one. Excellent amenities. Welcoming and helpful staff, specially Heidy at the reception desk. Room design is immaculate. Everything is well thought. One remark, I wish they add a note about the possibility to order utensils. I loved the duckie in the shower. I liked how the lifts work with the card but accessing the parking could be confusing at times.
As a frequent traveler, I can see the potential in this hotel, but I agree with some of the comments made here regarding the front desk and guest relations—they urgently NEED BETTER training. The check-in experience was awkwardly not welcoming at all; the staff I met at the front desk felt super cold and detached. On the bright side, breakfast location was delightful. Accessing the right floor with the elevator ( reading the key room) was challenging, and getting basic supplies was unnecessarily difficult. In summary, while the room and building are quit nice, the service approach comes off as rigid and unaccommodating. A touch of warmth and flexibility would go a long way in making guests feel truly valued rather than just managed.im not coming back since the area has several truly welcoming and solid options.
This hotel is a standout and easily one of my favorite staycation spots. Its prime Tysons location puts you within walking distance of Tysons Corner Center, Tysons Galleria, Wegmans, and several upscale dining options. With Perch Put located on the first level, the hotel feels like a destination in itself rather than just a place to stay. The rooms are impressively spacious, featuring a separate living area, sofa, and kitchenette. The bathroom is sleek and modern, complete with a bright LED mirror that’s perfect for getting ready and a dual-head shower that adds a spa-like touch. The inclusion of a white noise machine is thoughtful and makes for an incredibly restful night. Additional perks include EV charging stations, ample parking, and the ability to cast streaming services to both bedroom and living room TVs. Breakfast isn’t gourmet, but there’s enough variety to put together a satisfying meal. The gym is larger than average and well-equipped. I’ve stayed here three times now and would absolutely return. Be sure to check out the speakeasy—the service, drinks, and food were surprisingly excellent.
Hands down, this is now my favorite place to stay in the DMV area. The convenience alone is unmatched—Wegmans right downstairs and a Metro rail station directly across the street. Add in a great complimentary hot breakfast, sleek modern rooms, and this hotel truly has it all. This was my first visit, and I booked the junior suite—absolutely worth it. The separate living room, dedicated work desk, modern bathroom, and ample storage made the space feel both comfortable and functional. That said, my favorite feature has to be the fitness center and sauna ?. Cold towels, celery water, top-tier equipment (far beyond your typical apartment gym), and a great city view made every workout feel like a premium experience. I genuinely enjoyed my stay this past weekend and will definitely be back.
My wife and I stayed in a King Studio at The Watermark Hotel and it was one of the best upscale hotel we’ve experienced. We’ve stayed at much more expensive brands, such as the Hyatt Regency, InterContinental, etc., that offered less space and less value. This room with separate living and sleeping areas was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Typically, this room format is a significant upgrade option but instead comes standard at the Watermark. We loved the small touches: included breakfast, branded bath amenities, complimentary bottled water (so many “luxury” hotels charge for it), the fun shopping bag, and a rubber duck — such a memorable welcome. The bed was super comfortable, the kitchenette was really convenient, and everything felt clean and modern. The location in the Capital One Center is great, with easy access to Wegmans, public transportation, dining and things to do. Overall, an excellent mix of upscale and practical. We’d definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends.
Just got back from my stay here. The hotel is good and has great potential. Check in was quick and easy, and I didn't experience cold or rude staff, as other reviews have mentioned. The room was pretty clean, but I always do my own wipe down of surfaces and spraying of Lysol. There was one small issue with the room, there was a used floss pic on the night stand in the bedroom, which led me to believe that area had not been cleaned— pretty gross. The hotel has decent amenities like a gym, restaurant, mini golf and easy access to a grocery store and metro, but they need to upgrade the technology in the room. There were no options to sign into streaming services on the television, and we were left to watch local cable. This is the only problem that seems to be outdated and somewhat of a bummer once we returned to the room. The breakfast provided by the hotel had many options to choose from and it was a great way to end our staycation. Overall, the stay was great, the staff was friendly, there were many things to do within the hotel and around the hotel. I would stay again, but when the weather is nicer to enjoy some of the outdoor activities.
The hotel is in a very nice location by the Capital One complex in Tysons. To me, it looks more like a 3.5 star hotel than a 3 star hotel. It was very spacious, very clean and the staff were wonderful to deal with and very professional. The junior suite we got had a large bathroom, separated bed in a nook style room, medium sized "living room" by the large city view windows and a small kitchenette style area (missing a stovetop or warming surface). Breakfast was not your normal hot continental as other hotel chains have. This one was closer to a restaurant buffet style breakfast with many more options than normal. The dinning area was also nicely designed and the waiting staff were cordial and attentive. The lobby (on the 11th floor) was clean (smelled really good) and large with comfortable seating areas and a large courtyard with all sorts of different stuff to do, including a food truck area, seating and walking areas and another small bar. Unfortunately we couldn't take advantage of all that due to the winter weather, but we will be back in spring or summer. The building is right on top of a medium sized and well sorted grocery Wegman's store making it fully accessible for anyone staying at the hotel. There are about 7 or 8 very nice restaurants (some seemed to be way overpriced, IMO) that are within 1 or 2 blocks - walking distance. Parking was a breeze and not too expensive per night. The hotel is right beside the metro station that goes straight to the city - very convenient. It's also only a few blocks from a large upscale mall. It also sits right beside two nice playgrounds for parents with children. Easy 5 to 10 minute drive to other areas with plenty of restaurants. Easy 20 minute drive to DC area government bldgs and museums.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for the Thanksgiving weekend. In our first room (was very nice and I really liked it, but unfortunately the toilet was broken) We immediately received upgrade for another room of a higher standard. It was a corner suite . Was beautiful and cozy. It had everything we needed and even more. The view from this suite was beautiful especially for the sunrise . Everything worked very well. The bed was very comfortable. The bedding was spotlessly clean. The whole hotel was very clean and smelled wonderful. Every morning there was a good breakfast with a large selection, and the hotel staff were very friendly. The Wren restaurant was also very good. We traveling a lot and this was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. We will definitely come back here. I highly recommend ed.
Soundproofing to the street and between floors is not good. Was awakened every single night and morning multiple times by construction noise, highway noise, and neighbors (even with a noise machine and ear plugs). The beds are very uncomfortable with no rigidity at all, and the pillows had no thickness. The rooms were nice and large, and the fridge worked well.
