The River Inn consistently receives positive feedback for its friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms, and convenient location near Foggy Bottom and the Georgetown waterfront. Guests appreciate the comfortable atmosphere, well-equipped kitchens, and stunning Potomac River views, making it a popular choice for both business and leisure travelers.
The River Inn was an excellent hotel to stay for the 50th reunion weekend. The staff was friendly and provided a great suggestion for a burger at the Duke’s Grocery. The parking valets were helpful with check in and directions. Check in and check out was easy. The rooms were nice and having a full sized refrigerator in the kitchenette was very convenient. Good breakfast with friendly wait staff. Never a crowd and elevators were available with minimal wait.
Stayed here for 3 nights and could not fault it room was great, clean and spacious. Staff were so helpful and especially at the front desk girls were super. Location is great too for all the sights and subway.
I loved my stay here. It is a great value for a clean and spacious room with a bedroom, living room, and kitchenette. It's located in a cute Foggy Bottom neighborhood and is a quick 5-minute walk to the subway station near George Washington University. The staff were great too and accommodated my early check-in request. I would definitely stay here again and will plan to the next time I'm in DC.
Great convenient location, just a few blocks from Foggy Bottom Metro stop. Clean, spacious rooms, friendly, helpful staff. Relaxed environment and warm hospitality. Restaurant attached to hotel has great food, but a little pricy. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!
My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying here for our anniversary last weekend. The hotel is in a great location and neighborhood, steps to foggy bottom metro. The front desk staff were helpful and sweet. They do offer valet parking for an additional price. The valet staff were also amazing and helped take luggage upstairs. We stayed in the potomac view room. The room was nice, spacious, and clean. It was modern but you can tell this is an older hotel that was revamped. The bed was a little loud and the doors/knobs were a little sticky. Bathroom tile had some staining and grout residue. The hotel is pet friendly and our neighbor had a dog that barked non stop. I wasn’t annoyed but I did feel bad for the dog. The restaurant was nice, a little pricey but the food was great. Overall, a great experience and we would stay again!
I recently stayed at The River Inn and had a very pleasant experience. The location was convenient, and the overall atmosphere felt comfortable and welcoming. My room was clean and well cared for, and I want to especially highlight the housekeeping team for doing a wonderful job. The valet staff and front desk were very guest-oriented, professional, and super helpful throughout my stay — their friendliness really made a difference. Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend The River Inn to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-serviced place to stay.
Staff was so friendly, rooms were big and comfortable. Everything was clean too. They were super dog friendly, but the rooms don’t smell like dogs or anything like that. 10/10 will stay here again! Check in staff was so welcoming!
I thought this hotel was great and affordable. The rooms are spacious and the food in the little restaurant downstairs is decent but a little pricy. The building is slightly dated but that’s ok. It’s clean. Also close supermarkets and breakfast places are close. I would come back. Oh one note for staff. The fragrance machine in the lobby is awful. The strong cheap smell is overwhelming and just bad.
Because of work I’ve stayed in all the chain hotels, big and small names. The River Inn is now my favorite of them all. Much better price and many more amenities! I was surprised to get a full kitchen, standard size fridge, nice view, perfectly clean space and comfortable bed. Now, that’s half of the experience, the other half is the amazing staff that made me feel so welcomed. I met Ashlee Jean on my first day, and she was professional, kind, informative, welcoming and attentive. The next day I met Brandie, who was also so welcoming, helpful, sweet, and joyful. Also, shout out to Saif, who always assisted me with a smile and joy. On the last day of my stay, the staff was also amazing but I didn’t get their names. Oh, and the restaurant was excellent with plenty options.
This place was amazing! Ashley Jean and Brandy were so nice to me upon check-in and check out. The rooms were impeccably clean, hardwood floors gives such an elevated feeling. It was so well priced. The rooms had a very nice kitchenette and so much space for luggage. The location is great because it’s near lots of popular areas like Georgetown, foggy bottom, and George Washington university but on a residential street so it’s nice and quiet. It’s about a 5-7 minute walk to the closest metro. This is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in over the past 5 years for the price. Note: I went in the winter and the heating system was on. It did get warm in the room at night, so pack light pajamas !
