The St. Regis Washington, D.C. consistently receives positive feedback for its luxurious accommodations, exceptional service, and prime location. However, recent reviews indicate recurring issues with valet parking, staff professionalism, and inconsistent room quality, particularly concerning value for price. Despite high praise for specific staff members and traditions, significant operational and service-related concerns require attention.
The St. Regis is a cut above. Rooms are well appointed, beds are comfortable and yes, the toilet seat is heated. Good food options and a welcoming bar. Don't miss the bottle opening at 6:00. Convenient to most tourist spots. My second stay here and both were of an equal level of high quality.
Catherine the concierge is excellent. Butler service lost my wife's very expensive custom made formal wear pair of gloves from London. It was Catherine the concierge who helped us find the gloves. Catherine was the helpful hero in this story. The manager on duty Murielle however was clueless and had a perceptible attitude. Systemically, the St. Regis showed how they are in disarray on a communications and professionalism level. A hotel that purports to be at such a "high level" and bills room rates as such needs to learn what excellent customer service is. Aside from Catherine the concierge, the St. Regis staff needs A LOT of training of what the hotelier and hospitality industry ought to be.
I am writing to escalate a valet parking issue that occurred at a St. Regis Washington DC property and resulted in a parking citation and financial loss due solely to the actions of the hotel’s valet service. On 12/21/2025, my wife and I attended a wedding at the hotel ballroom and utilized the hotel’s valet parking service (I was not a registered hotel guest). At the conclusion of the event, I presented the valet ticket, paid the $50 valet fee, received my wife’s vehicle, tipped the attendant, and departed without being informed of any issue. On 2/4/2026, approximately six weeks after the event, I received a parking citation totaling $100 ($50 violation for parking in a no-standing zone plus a $50 late penalty). As my wife’s vehicle was under the exclusive custody and control of the hotel’s valet service at the time, the violation could only have occurred due to improper parking by valet staff. No citation was disclosed to us when the vehicle was returned, nor was any notice left on the car. To avoid further penalties, I have already paid the citation in full. This situation reflects a serious failure in valet operations and guest transparency. Paying a premium valet fee should not expose patrons to concealed violations, late penalties, or the administrative burden of resolving issues caused by hotel staff. I have contacted St. Regis/Marriott escalating this matter to corporate management because it represents a service breakdown inconsistent with the St. Regis and Marriott standards. I have requested: -Reimbursement of the full $100 citation paid, and -Confirmation that this matter has been reviewed with the property to prevent recurrence. I will keep posting updates to this review as they happen.
We recently celebrated our company's 25-year anniversary at the St. Regis in Washington, D.C., and the experience was nothing short of spectacular. From start to finish, the St. Regis team went above and beyond to make our weekend absolutely perfect. The venue was elegant, the service impeccable, and our staff is still raving about how memorable the celebration was. Highly recommend them for any special occasion.
Put it on your bucket list to stay here around Christmas and see the hotel decorated to the 9's. Be a part of the champagne experience under the Christmas tree as they open the bottle with a saber and tell you the story behind it. Truly a hospitality icon and legendary tradition within those walls. Amazing check-in experience as well. The bar and whole building have amazing history. Speaking of the bar you must go and have a drink, they will also serve you in the lobby when it's busy. Excellent service and prices to match the luxurious ambiance. 4 star review because we stayed to celebrate my wife and no amenity was offered, not even a note. Which seemed like a big oversight in this caliber of establishment. Additionally, even after the remodel, the majority of rooms here just aren't that impressive for the price tag IMO, even though the hotel itself shines.
We stayed at the St. Regis Washington, D.C. for three days and had a truly exceptional experience. From check-in to check-out, every detail was handled with care and professionalism. The service was top-tier—reception, housekeeping, room service, and valet were all excellent. We even had a butler available during our stay, which we didn’t fully utilize, but it was a luxurious option to have. Another standout touch: when we ordered food through delivery apps, the concierge accepted it and brought it right to our room—a small but incredibly thoughtful service that meant we never had to leave our suite to pick up an order. The suite itself was beautiful, featuring a spacious bathroom, walk-in shower, and a bidet. But the real crown jewel? The bed. One of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in—we literally spent an entire day just lounging in it. Supportive, plush, and perfectly made. It’s what you’d expect from the St. Regis name, and they absolutely delivered. Although we didn’t have a chance to dine in the on-site restaurant, I’ve heard great things and would love to try it on our next visit. All in all, the St. Regis D.C. blends luxury, comfort, and service seamlessly. Yes, it's a bit on the pricey side—but the value matches the experience. Whether for a special occasion, weekend getaway, or elevated business trip, it’s one of the best stays you can book in the city. Highly recommended.
We always stay here when we travel to DC. The restaurant is just perfect so there’s no need to fight for reservations elsewhere. The traditions every evening are enjoyable. I took a picture of a little girl having tea with her mom because they were adorable. If you can’t get reservations to stay, making tea reservations is still worth it.
Our first stay at the St. Regis Washington, D.C. was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment of arrival, the service—from check-in to the bar to the concierge—was polished, attentive, and effortlessly gracious. The cocktails are beautifully executed, the Alhambra brunch is superb, and the location is unrivaled. As seasoned travelers, my wife and I found the experience to be truly elevated and well beyond expectations.
Deric is one of the best people in any service and hospitality industry I have ever met, especially hotels. I exclusively stay at st Regis or Ritz, and he really made this experience standout with his warmness and professionalism. Great touch to the hotel! Everything else was excellent
I stayed at the Hyatt Place in the same building as this hotel. Some genius decided that it is a good idea to have a wedding outdoor in a tent at midnight, blasting loud music the entire time. My room was on the 9th floor and I can hear the music pounding 100%. Hyatt front desk stated that multiple customer complaints were made regarding this issue so im not the only one bothered by this. St Regis should seriously pay attention to how your events are affecting others around them. I dont believe behaving this way is polite or even legal to be troubling others who just want to have a good night sleep.
