My wife and I recently stayed at the JW Marriott Washington, DC and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is hard to beat, with easy access to many of the city's top attractions, including the White House, Smithsonian museums, and numerous monuments. Being able to walk to so many iconic sites made our visit much more enjoyable and convenient. The hotel was clean and well-maintained throughout and the staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. From check-in to departure, everyone we encountered provided excellent service and made us feel welcome. One of the things I appreciated most was how quiet our room was. After spending long days exploring the city, it was nice to return to a peaceful room where we could relax and get a good night's sleep. We also had a room on the southwest side of the hotel, which offered a great view of the Washington Monument and added to the overall experience. The hotel restaurant was convenient, although I found the prices to be on the high side compared to some nearby options. That said, the daily $17.50 destination charge credit helped to offset some of the cost and made dining at the hotel a little easier to justify. Overall, the JW Marriott Washington, DC offers an excellent combination of location, cleanliness, friendly service, and comfortable accommodations. If you're looking for a well-located hotel that puts you within easy reach of Washington's most popular attractions, this is a great choice. I would happily stay here again on a future visit.

The staff in this hotel are wonderful! From the valet to the front desk to the housekeeping top-notch! That being said, the rooms are in massive need of renovation. The carpets are old. And so are the bathrooms. This isn’t like any JW out there. The lounge if you could even call it that was terrible small and again in need of a Reno Breakfast selection ?? Four days I didn’t even bother eating upstairs I ordered Uber Eats. We did have a beautiful view of the monument. And the room itself was very big. The little store in the hotel the staff needs training. Very combative over them messing up my coffee order and never smile never say good morning! Shocking for Marriott! But the location is great for the museums!

The J.W. Marriott in Washington, DC, earns its excellent reputation for comfort, style, and incredible location. Located within easy walking distance of The White House, U.S. Capitol, and Smithsonian museums, among other terrific sites. The staff at the hotel was very welcoming, and housekeeping, in particular, was very attentive and pleasant. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel when you're travel to DC and want to be in the middle of things. As mentioned by other reviewers, its proximity to Reagan National is a definite plus.

This is a great location right in the middle of all the action. I think it's the closest high-end hotel to Reagan National Airport so getting to and from DCA is easy. Great housekeeping, front desk, and conference center staff. The restaurant and bar have solid and quality food options. Easy walking distance to major tourist locations and the Mall. My only complaint, which is endemic to all Marriott properties, is no Coke products. It's a Pepsi only facility.

We had an amazing stay, and the front desk gentleman who checked us in was so nice! Our monument room was nicely appointed with a king bed. The shower was particularly good, with the handle on one side so you don’t get wet turning it on. The location was awesome- we saw a show at the National Theater and it was a very short walk. We did park our car in a nearby garage on the same block to avoid the very high valet charge. I paid around $70 for a three day parking instead of the 72 plus 18% tax per day. The location is amazing if you want to visit the Washington Monument or Smithsonians. The Capitol was about a 30 minute walk and most everything else was 15. We will absolutely be back!

As a Marriott Ambassador member, I expect the best. I've given Marriott my time and money, and having rude and incompetent reception was appalling. I booked a room for 1 night and requested a balcony. The checkin clerk stated for an additional $250 I could have a balcony room. WTH. Isnt an Ambassador given an uograde complementary? Then, I asked to look at my current room and he refused to hold my luggage, stated I had to bring it with me with the bellman. The room was small, dark and depressing. I left with not even an apology or solution. Bad bad bad customer service. Having stayed at 20 or so Marriotts in the area, this one topped it all for rude staff, unacommodating suggestions and terrible rooms. Shame on you JW.

Booking Marriott can be tough. When you book by brand, you expect certain things but know that it could be drastically different depending on the owner. This JW is fine. The lobby is nice, the rooms (if you get a monument view) have great views, the service is good. That said, the rooms are dated, relatively small, with small outdated bathrooms. They got the job done, just not at the JW standard. That said, the location is incredible. You are walkable to the mall, all the monuments, and some great restaurants. If you want an upscale feel for a cocktail, just go across to the Willard which is more of a premium feel.

Comfort, luxury, and calm all wrapped into one. The service was impeccable. Room was serene, and thoughtfully designed! Exactly what you’d want after a full day in the city. The energy of the hotel itself felt special and undeniably DC. I walked in expecting a great stay… and they delivered seamlessly.
