The Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington D.C. – Convention Center consistently receives positive reviews for its convenient location near the convention center and Metro, spacious suites, and complimentary breakfast and evening reception. While praised for friendly staff and comfortable rooms, some guests have reported cleanliness issues, long breakfast lines, and occasional service delays.
Wow. Has to be one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Walkable to all 6 of the Metrorail lines in under 10 minutes--you can get anywhere in the city, Virginia, or Maryland. Suites are spacious, modern, & well-appointed. Brand-standard breakfast is great. Only issue I had is that breakfast can get crowded
We stayed around 4th of July 2024. Great hotel! Lots of middle-class families for obvious reasons. Free breakfast is a huge plus, and was good. If you have Hilton Gold status or up, you can eat in the on-site restaurant with your food & beverage credit. This was when the water in D.C. has issues -- the staff was so great that they made hundreds of water bottles avaialable for FREE to guests! Way to go above and beyond. Everyone was so friendly. Very clean, well maintained. It's not fancy - but the perfect middle-of-the-road Hilton for us. As always, guaranteed connecting rooms if booking directly with Hilton is amazing (and needed). Only room for improvement would be to add a couple hot tubs -- the small pool fills up quickly. 5 out of 5, would return.
Rooms were very clean and the staff were very helpful. The free breakfast in the mornings saved us a lot of money from eating at nearby restaurants that would’ve cost $60+ everyday for the food we were served. The evening reception was nice as well. Every adult gets two free drink tickets and they have snacks out as well. Just expect chips and vegetables though. The location was great for getting around the city and close enough to walk to most attractions. The metro station is only a 5 minute walk away if you don’t want to walk further.
Location was awesome for the Awesome Con. We were able to walk to the convention center. Can't say enough about the wait staff at the in hotel restaurant. The bartender was so helpful with suggestions and the cocktails were delicious. Our favorite waitress was such a kind soul. She patiently suggested delicious food that was available for out dietary restrictions. Also, intuitively knew when I was having a difficult day. She absolutely went the extra mile..... The rooms were very spacious and clean, and the housekeeping staff was accommodating to our needs. Finally, the conseirge that weekend was absolutely on point!! He helped us with everything from, a cab for a impromptu tour, to securing us a wheelchair for my son to to our car at checkout. (The front desk told my husband they didn't have any available?????). My son couldn't walk due to a back injury. Don't know how we could have gotten down 11 floors without the conseirge helping us.
We stayed here in December 2025 for a family trip and enjoyed our stay. We liked the happy hour and stayed for dinner to watch football. The suite was spacious enough for our family of 5. We walked everywhere including the national mall and a few nearby restaurants. The neighborhood also felt safe. We would definitely stay here again. My only advice is to find street parking or a nearby garage- it wasn’t hard for us to find weekend street parking.
I've come to DC for the same conference two years in a row, and both times I've stayed at the Embassy Suites. The hotel is wonderful -- full stop. Gym facilities are excellent. The pool leaves a little to be desired... both times the smell of the chlorine has been very strong. Rooms are excellent with plenty of space to work or relax in the living area and plenty of space in the bed room as well. Food is well above the standard for most hotels, including one of the best breakfasts I've had on work trips across the country. Social reception hour in the bar/restaurant area is a great way to socialize with others staying and includes complementary drinks. I try to stay at Embassy Suites any time I travel for work. When I'm in DC.... I will ONLY stay at the Embassy Suites.
My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights just before Christmas and loved our stay. All staff were polite and friendly. The room is spacious and clean with very comfortable beds. Breakfast is plentiful and the omelet station was fantastic! Two free drinks and snacks each evening is such a lovely touch- all this for around £100 per night right in the centre of DC?! We travel all over the world and I really feel that this hotel is unjustified in receiving some of the negative reviews posted here.
Great spot near the convention center, equally close to the Chinatown, metro center, and convention center metro stops. The rooms are very nice and the staff is super friendly. Breakfast is pretty good and you can find almond milk near the cereal if you don't do dairy in your coffee. They have a rate that includes parking if you'll have a car and we found it to be a good deal. There's only valet parking, so have cash on have for tips and don't plan to use your car too much while you stay. We enjoyed the free HBO Max on the TV and looked that we could log in to our accounts to watch our stuff. Unfortunately, Embassy Suites is a Hillton property, so as much as we enjoyed our stay, we won't stay with them again until Hilton stops housing ICE across the country.
First time staying at this location, and overall I really enjoyed my stay. Despite a few concerns, the positives definitely outweighed the negatives. The location is excellent, most of the things we wanted to do were within walking distance, which made getting around very convenient. Several staff members were friendly, and when I had a concern, the supervisor was very approachable and reassuring, which I appreciated. There were a few minor issues. The couch in our room was severely damaged, with rips exposing the inside, which wasn’t very appealing. I did enjoy the complimentary happy hour; however, when I asked the bartender for mint leaves, I was told I would need to purchase a drink rather than use the happy hour option, which was a bit surprising. Additionally, early morning construction around 6–7 a.m. woke my partner and me, causing us to cancel some early plans due to feeling tired. Despite these small hiccups, I still enjoyed my stay. The location was walkable, convenient, and overall made for a pleasant experience.
I loved this hotel. The location is excellent and close to the White House, Congress, and museums. The breakfast is perfect, with various options including fresh omelets made to order. They also offer two complimentary drinks during happy hour—a perk I've never seen at another hotel. My family and I had a wonderful stay and highly recommend it.
