While reviews highlight the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown's charming, historic ambiance and excellent service, guests expressing a love for cozy ambiance in the public spaces have noted issues with overly bright lighting that detracts from the intended mood of the lobby.
Charming property with good location on a side street. Lots of individuality for an RC - brick and modern art. The structure is a bit quirky in the layout being a converted something. It's also quite small - very intimate feeling. Very attentive service.
The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown is a stunning boutique-style gem! ?I loved the cozy, intimate feel of this hotel. It has such a cool history—the building used to be an old industrial incinerator from the 1930s! You can still see the massive 130-foot red brick chimney tower and original steel beams, which give it so much character. ?The amenities are amazing, and the staff really makes you feel at home. Plus, the location is unbeatable. You’re just steps away from the local Georgetown market, incredible restaurants, and the beautiful Georgetown Waterfront Park. It’s the perfect place to stay if you want luxury with a side of D.C. history.
The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown is a truly unique hotel that blends historic character with the customary Ritz-Carlton level of service and amenities you expect. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtful, polished, and effortlessly comfortable. What really stood out, however, was the food—specifically Chef David. The dining experience was nothing short of outstanding, even by Ritz-Carlton standards. The freshness of the ingredients, next-level flavors, and absolutely gorgeous plating made every dish feel special. It wasn’t just a meal; it was something to behold. This is a hotel that excels not only in hospitality but in creating memorable moments. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a refined, distinctive stay in Washington, DC.
I don't typically post negative reviews — I'd always rather give a business the benefit of the doubt. But this one stumps me. The lobby of this Ritz is stunning. Brick, industrial chic with a woodburning fireplace. It's been a Christmas tradition for years that we go at least once (often multiple times) during the holidays for drinks by the fire. The last two years, the lights have been turned up so bright in the space, it's uncomfortable. Like cleaning-at-the-end-of-the-night kind of bright. Last year, they told me they'd ordered the wrong light bulbs. This year, it was even worse and they said it was for "safety reasons." Sadly, we won't be going back. It's not an insignificant thing — ambience matters. It's gone from cozy to cafeteria. And they don't seem to care?
I hosted my wedding at the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown in October 2025. Their team is amazing, especially event manager Jeanette!, and the service across the hotel is top tier. Not only did we have a great experience planning and working with them but our guests raved about the beautiful and cozy vibe throughout the property and the fabulous staff. We have always felt truly taken care of here. It's really like a home away from home.
