This modern hotel in downtown DC features high-quality, fully equipped rooms with in-unit laundry and a rooftop terrace, though guests report varying levels of housekeeping consistency.
I enjoyed a three night stay at Roost for work travel. There was an issue at check in with my room but the staff handled it quickly and were very attentive in making sure my issue was resolved. The location is perfect for downtown DC with easy access to metro and all business or leisure activities in the city. The rooms were top of the line in terms of finishes and function. Having a full washer and dryer available was a huge plus as a compliment to the gym facilities on site. The gym is spacious with various equipment options for a quick workout. The best part of this hotel was the rooftop terrace area with great views of the city!
This has been a wonderful experience!! 5 of us traveled across the country and really enjoyed all of the amenities of this perfect hotel. We took full advantage of using the washer and dryer upon arrival. The rooftop has amazing views. The staff is very attentive and so nice! I will be staying here again for sure!
We really wanted to love The Roost. There were several things wrong with our stay, the worst of which happened the morning we checked out. I threw in a load of laundry so we could go home with clean clothes. When I moved the clothes from the washer to the dryer, I pulled a strangers shirt and a used condom out of the washing machine along with our clothes. It was absolutely disgusting and clear evidence that these rooms are not thoroughly cleaned between guests. Some smaller frustrating incidents that happened earlier in our stay-- We requested an iron and ironing board only to be told that they only have an iron, no board. The plant in our room was dead and smelled quite bad. One bedside lamp did not work and I asked the front desk to have someone come and check it, but no one ever came. A previous guest had shoved the burr in to the coffee maker upside down so we had to spend a great deal of time trying to fix it. We definitely won't be staying at one of these properties again and we'll be re-washing all our clothes at home.
Fantastic hotel! Quiet at night and the room was spacious and clean. Staff were friendly and welcoming upon arrival and made it easy to check in and out. Great kitchen and in-unit laundry was nice. I would definitely stay here again.
My stay at The Roost D.C. was exceptional from start to finish. Check?in was seamless, and I was provided with a key along with clear, detailed instructions for building and elevator access, plus easy?to-follow Wi?Fi information. I booked a premium one?bedroom apartment, and it exceeded expectations. The space felt more like a well-appointed home than a hotel room. The full kitchen was stocked with every utensil I could need, along with a wine fridge, full?size refrigerator with an ice maker, filtered water, coffee maker, toaster, and even an in?unit washer and dryer. The separate seating area and full living room made it incredibly comfortable for both work and relaxation. Small touches made a big difference—two laundry pods, dish detergent, a broom, and multiple trash cans were all provided. Storage was abundant, with generous closet and shelving space in the hallway, bedroom, and bathroom. The apartment was spotless, with plenty of fresh towels, controllable AC and heat, and a Bluetooth speaker for added convenience. The smart TVs already had the most common apps downloaded, which made unwinding in the evenings effortless. The building itself was impressively quiet, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The workspaces, including the rooftop areas, were beautifully designed and robust—perfect for remote work. The gym was on the cozier side but well maintained. There was also a vending machine stocked with snacks and a few cleaning essentials, which came in handy. The location couldn’t be better. Chase Bank and Starbucks were right next door, and the neighborhood is surrounded by restaurants, bars, and shops. Delivery was a breeze—I placed an Amazon grocery order with no issues at all. If I had to suggest a few improvements, a small vacuum would be helpful for longer stays, separate remotes for both TVs would simplify things, and a pillow topper on the bed would make it even more comfortable. Overall, The Roost D.C. delivers a polished, convenient, and thoughtfully curated experience. I’d absolutely stay again.
We stayed on December 4th and left the hotel around 9 to check out early and head out, but my aunt's car battery died. A nice person at the hotel helped us charge her battery, and we left to go see the U.S. Capitol Building afterward. But I will say the people at ROOST White House hotel were very nice and the hotel also very clean and secured 5/5.
I had to take a trip to DC for work and found the closest hotel to the conference. I only had days to book, and I honestly didn't check the pictures of the rooms. I knew it was a nice hotel, but it went beyond my expectations. I was extremely impressed with the hotel, the quality of the rooms, and the helpfulness of the staff. The roof top sky lounge offered wonderful views of the city at night, and being only blocks away from the monuments and tourist part of the city was amazing. I was able to see the white house only minutes from leaving the hotel.
This was one of the nicest hotels I’ve stayed it. It was great for two people. Full kitchen and a drip coffee maker (bring your own coffee as they don’t provide enough for more than one day). Really comfortable bed and a big screen TV. Only complaint was that every morning from 7:30 till 8;30 a REALLY loud garbage truck parked outside our window and collected garbage. Everything is brand new and so clean. They also have a great hair dryer available and fill laundry with detergent .
The Roost White House is a unique property. My family and I stayed at the Roost in Detroit, so we're looking forward to an opportunity to try out the one in DC. And I have to say it didn't disappoint. The rooms are clean, spacious, modern with plenty of amenities. And the staff was incredible. We actually had a few issues throughout our stay because we were the first ones in the unit. Our dishwasher flooded, our washer didn't work immediately, and our phone wasn't working. However, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate and ensure that all issues were remedied. I'd like to give special acknowledgement to Hassan, Juliana, Shannon, and Khadija. Throughout our stay, they were all very communicative and assisted with fixing any of the issues that we experienced. And the issues were minor compared to the customer service and the quality of stay that the space offered. I think as this property continues to find its footing, it's going to be be a mainstay in the DC area. Definitely will be returning. And I recommend if you're in town, choose the Roost is for your stay.
